"I know the feeling, believe me." Lauren sighed. "I'm sure I can rustle something else up for ya."

Rosie looked at her with a slight frown. Everyone was thinking what she was thinking of. “ Maybe we need to go back? They could have left a purse or something.”
"I think a few of you could do that, but I want to focus more on questioning the locals."

Rosie frowned slightly as her eyebrows furrowed a bit. “ Hey Chief, did we search everything that night?” She questioned, wondering if there was maybe something they missed.
Lauren nodded. “I’m pretty sure but... I don’t know. I’m gonna see if anyone can take another look. We must have missed something, you’re probably right. There can’t just be... nothing.”

Rosie had sighed, Halloween night was eventful to say the least. Sitting at her desk, she looked through everything, trying to figure out who was taken and why. This was hopeless, she wasn’t getting anywhere. “ I don’t even know where to start.” She muttered, placing her head on the desk in front of her.
“Yeah, I feel that...” Lauren said wryly as she walked into the room, dropping her own stuff onto a nearby desk.

Once Upon a Time caps per episode: 1.15 - Red-Handed
Joan had just gotten her costume for the party this weekend. She was so looking forward to having a night off, and definitely a night out. Joan had planned on being a witch for Hallloween of course. It was her favorite time of year. Who knows, maybe she’ll actually enjoy herself more. She opened the door to Coffee Bean, in hopes of one of their delicious hot cocoa when she accidentally bumped into someone while they were on their way out. “ Oh, I’m so sorry! Here, let me get you a fresher drink.” Joan told them, feeling a bit guilty running into them. @secretsummerstarters
“Oh!” Lauren hadn’t even looked where she was going honestly, too focused on getting back to work and figuring this whole thing out. She had spilled her drink in the process and a worker came to mop it up. “Yeah? Thank you... that’s very nice of you.” She smiled at Joan, accepting the offer.

Brooke gave her hand a gentle squeeze, looking over at her wife for a moment. “It is what I want and need to do.” It was hard since her father passed away. And the blonde just knew that she had to do this for her family. “Thank you for doing this, baby. I know it’s a lot to ask.” Leaning over, she kissed her softly. “I love you.”
Lauren shook her head. “Of course.” Lauren said, shrugging lightly. “I get it, I do.” It would be an adjustment for everyone, she was sure, but she’d manage. “I love you too.”

“I hope he does wake up soon. If anyone can do it besides me it’s totally him.” Leo had helped her out during a few situations by bringing her home or to Charlie while she was drunk. And there was that one time she asked him to take Evan home instead of to the drunk tank and he had let her. But rather than that he was a good guy and he didn’t deserve this but she was glad that he had protected her wife. “It doesn’t feel great but I put some cream on it and I’ll live.” She had done worse to herself. “I can’t ask Imogen or Noelle to do it. Someone has to take care of her, Lauren. And moving her to some random nursing home feels wrong especially since my dad..” She looked down at her wedding ring for a moment before back towards her wife. “Yeah, I want to do this and need to do this. But you and I are team and I want us to talk about it.”
Lauren knew it was a difficult situation, especially if Elizabeth’s mind was still deteriorating and now she could actually end up hurting herself. She understood not wanting to stick her in some home somewhere or dump it on the girls’ shoulders. She reached out and took Brooke’s hands. “If this is what you want to do, Brooke, I’m absolutely in.” She knew it had been hard for everyone since Richard and she wanted to help however she could.

“I bet.” Brooke couldn’t imagine what it was like at the station right now. But she figured it wasn’t good. “Has Leo woken up yet?” Brooke downed her glass before pouring another. “I went to see my mother today. Check up on her, see if she needed anything and I walked in and she was asleep on the couch and she almost burnt the house down luckily it was just the stove and I got to it in time.” She held up her hand, showing her wife the bandage. “I’ll be fine. It isn’t as bad as what I used to do to myself.” The blonde didn’t keep a lot from her wife about her past. Especially what she used to do to herself. “But I know our lease is almost up, I think we should talk about moving in with my mum. I can’t–I can’t do what they did to me and just put her in a home somewhere and forget about her. And I can’t ask Imogen to do this and it’s not like I have any siblings to take care of her.”
Lauren shook her head. “Not yet. Hopefully he will soon, there’s still time...” She sighed, it wasn’t something she liked thinking about. He should have just looked out for himself. Lauren listened as Brooke talked about visiting her mother and she shook her head. “Oh, wow. Well, I’m so glad it wasn’t worse.” She said, thinking the house could have gone up, looking at Brooke’s hand with a little sigh. “Is that what you really want to do?”

Alistair nodded his head a little bit. It been far too long. “It really has been.” He slipped one of his hands into his pockets. “Yeah he did. Which is why they temporarily transferred me here. That explosion and those kids being found is all over the news. Even back home.”
Lauren really hadn’t expected to see him again, honestly. Let alone have him transferred here. God. “Yeah... I can imagine. It was all pretty freaking huge.” She sighed, still unable to believe it had all happened. “Uh.. so how long do you reckon you’ll be around?”

Jackie looked down at the chart and noted something. Moving over to Lauren, she looked up at the brunette. “It was awful. I was worried about you that night as your friend. I’m glad that you are okay. Are you sure that you are okay?” Of course she figured that her wife was taking care of her but she wanted to double check and make sure. She took a deep breath and let it out. “I know things are strained between you and I but I would never want to see you get hurt. I miss my best friend.”
“Yeah, I dunno... I’m fine. It was just so unexpected.” Lauren sighed, looking back at Jackie for a minute and then she shrugged. “I miss you too, Jacks... I do... but I can’t believe you would do something like what you did.”

Brooke sighed a little bit, as she moved into their apartment. It was quiet, which was fine because Daniel was staying the night with Mitch. Lauren must of been at work still. She slipped off her jacket and hung it up. Noticing the burn on her hand. Fuck. This one wasn’t even self inflected. Sighing a little bit, she moved into the bathroom and bandaged it up. Moving back out into the living room, she went for the liquor cabinet. Grabbing herself a glass, she poured herself some whiskey. Putting the bottle down on the counter, she downed it and then poured herself another. Hearing the door, she grabbed a glass for Lauren, and poured her one as well. “We need to talk but first how was work?” She questioned, handing the glass over to her wife.
Lauren was exhausted. The station was in disarray and spirits were at an all time low. She was glad to be home but was pretty sure she wouldn’t be able to switch off. “Work was...” She shrugged. “Messy.” She sat down and pulled the glass towards her. “What do we need to talk about?”

Isabel moved into the office without knocking, seeing Brooke. “I need a word with the Chief alone, Mrs. Hayes.” The looks between the blonde and the Mayor were clearly there even now. Watching Brooke give her wife a quick kiss, they mumbled something to each other as she left. Turning her attention to Lauren, she went and sat down in one of the chairs. “What do we know? And do not give me the run around, Mrs. Hayes. If you do, I’m going assume your office is incompetent and that you don’t have control over them. So I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and hope you will be fully up front with me. And hope that Brooke hasn’t taken your attention too much away from your job and if she has I’m going to suggest that you get your wife under control.”
Lauren looked up when Isabel walked into the room, not even a knock to announce her presence. She held back a sigh and also the urge to question why they always looked at each other like that, leaning in to return Brooke’s kiss before she cleared her throat. “What can I do for you?” She asked, turning her attention to the mayor. “First of all, you’re not going to come into my office and talk to me like that, or you can turn around and walk right back out, I don’t care if you are the mayor.” Lauren found herself saying, feeling disrespected and never having been one to take that lying down. “Second, I’m not going to give you the runaround but I’ll be brutally honest, there really hasn’t been a lot to go on.”
