survive using courage, humour and grace. survive using compassion and the people closest to your heart. survive using understanding and acceptance. raw emotion and real foods. your breath, your inner fire. the things that keep you pushing on. sunshine and lots of love. the adventures that are still to come. regardless of the way life asks you to bend and break over and over again, regardless of negative energy that may challenge you. your life, your terms, your love. ⨠grateful for everyone in my life who are absolute blessings, so. happy.
instincts š+šø can never leave a store without something aggressive and black went crystal hunting today for @laurenhartyoga
students - know that you are absolutely inspiring to your teachers. no, I don't care if you can stand on your head, your hands, or one foot. it's not that I don't believe you can- or want you to eventually get there, because you absolutely can and will- but your asana is not the most important part of your yoga. i can't stop smiling because tonight i was 3 students first yoga teacher and I have never seen such massive inward love - day one, no judgement, and so eager for next time. that's not an easy thing to do after your first yoga class, when everyone is convinced they are "bad" at yoga for not fully expressing the postures. when the flashiness of asana is removed you see the centre shine through. the self acceptance, the observing, not the analyzing. feeling that fire within me that reminds me, always a student first. no worries, no rush. absolutely no expectation. if you can't express your yoga through your body just yet, let it shine through your heart and every inch of your being. tonight, strong intention, open minds, big love. living out of 3 bags and 2 saggy cardigan pockets for the day- im going home absolutely inspired - thank you new yogis seriously grateful love LH
some of the places that are the hardest to grow, are the places that your beauty is needed most. shine into those places, donāt overlook them. unravel those places. stay true to your course. trust trust trust no matter how unconventional it seems. X
in the most loving way possible i need to simplify everything only keep whatās good for me what grows me and serves me and loves me. it is a waste of time to ignore what you want to accommodate someone elseās needs and desires, or try and keep things in your life that dont align with who you are or how you feel. stay connected to what and who you love. let go of the puzzle pieces that no longer fit. with love and good intention. we are allowed to change. we are allowed to decide whatās not for us anymore, and what is. be true, be honest and when you love someone make sure they feel it. find a place that you can speak your truth and be yourself and stay there. trust š.
i have been trying to SIMPLIFY my life- wether it be of clutter in my living space, chemicals in my products, or anyone / anything with bad energy. I think that traveling and eastern culture has put me onto this- learning to need less, and use simple natural things for tons of different functions. I have eczema, so all artificially perfumed body washes and lotions are public enemy number 1, It amazed me how many of my issues were caused by the āskin careā I thought was good for me! now I use Dr. Bronners soap for EVERYTHING - (the tea tree for my face and peppermint for my body and hand washing my yoga clothes as well as a good fluoride free toothpaste!) and coconut oil to moisturize both my skin and hair. I picked up these natural, preservative free products from #lushcosmetics this weekend and am in love- thereās henna and jasmine in my hair, and this morning I scrubbed my face with almond, rosemary and sage š itās amazing to have products with an expiry date within this year⦠and ingredients you can pronounce. Not only do they work, but they make me feel 100% better about what kind of people I am supporting when I purchase products, and knowing Iām not smearing preservatives on my face and hair. If you havenāt tried this, you should! What are your favourite all natural brands and products? Or home made remedies? š X LH
Iāve come to drag you out of yourself and take you into my heart. Iāve come to bring out the beauty you never knew you had and lift you like a prayer into the sky
at the bottom of the mountain, real life takes over. traffic everywhere and cell phone is buzzing and you're on a schedule. at the bottom of the mountain there's always somewhere to go and something to do, someone to answer to. a constant feeling that your days and moments don't seem to belong to you at all. reminders and obligations, stress. i can't be the only one who wishes that from time to time I could disappear to a place where nothing is expected of me, by anyone. at the top of the mountain i am quiet and i am still. there are no cars to remind me that i need to be somewhere and there is no cell phone buzzing to remind me of the things i need to sustain. there are no unwanted presences and forced conversations. there is freshness and wildflowers and a smell that the most ridiculous Christmas candle couldn't even duplicate. there are small things happening, micro movements, keeping the balance. there is you and there is me and a wide open space and even though I haven't been here before I can settle in deeper than expected. free and alone with ourselves yet more connected than ever. at the top of the mountains i am in the clouds. for a change I can hear my breath without even trying. i can see the smallest tree growing out of a dead root and am reminded how amazing things are when we just let them be and do as they are meant to. please go outside observe and let be and open you are safe love LH
finding time this weekend to be somewhere different, quiet, and still. so important for me to do things like this once and a while instead of spreading myself thin trying to make time for everything, everyone. I truly believe that spending time with the earth fixes most things, clears it away, like a reset. I know in every savasana i picture everything that makes me sad, everything that's weighs on my mind and heart, melting into the earth from every point where my skin meets my mat. maybe wandering in the trees does the same š happy long weekend everyone
the magic gold box of jewelry orders āØI wanted to share this: "when you buy from an artist, you're buying more than a project. youre buying 100s of hours of failures and experimentation. you're buying days, weeks, months, of frustration and pure joy. you're not just buying a thing, you're buying a piece of heart, part of a soul, a moment of someone's life. most importantly, you're buying the artist more time to do something they're passionate about." My mom wrote this the other day and it really resonated with me- thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me in my jewelry endeavours, you have no idea how much fun it is to create something with love and good intention and to see others enjoy it as much as you do. thank you a thousand times. š
as if the coast could forget the ocean, the lungs forget their breath, or the earth could forget the sun.
lunch and jewelry orders š feeling the fuzzies today because of reconnecting with an old friend. hoping that everyone can find a feel good moment in their day today just like I did ⢠X Lauren
