@lauriverarrow
my beautiful love story. they could be so happy one day.
Is there a Lauriver smut week planned at all do you know? If not, we should plan one.
I am not really following anything on the fandom right now. But maybe one of my followers can tell you.
Let’s say you’ve been given the position of writing Green Arrow from scratch,” he posits, rhetorically. “Clean slate. You might say, ‘Okay, I’m going to write this new character,’ and when someone says, ‘Well, what about Black Canary,’ you might say… ‘nope.’ That means you completely misunderstand these characters.” For Johns, to love superheroes is to know what they love, whether it’s a romantic pairing, or a specific hope for their world.
Geoff Johns
SA just said people who doesn't like their characters are not real fans of the show. Lol
I just saw it, and you know what? He is totally right! I am not a fan of Arrow. I am a fan of what the show was in the first season, and to be honest I would say I am a fan of the first five or six episodes. And after that I can point on more things I didn’t like than things I did like.
When season 2 came, and their “Team Arrow” was just Felicity and Diggle, I already knew I didn’t like Arrow’s version of Green Arrow. When Roy barely had screentime, and they brought a Canary who wasn’t Dinah Drake or Dinah Lance, I already knew I didn’t like Arrow’s version of Green Arrow.
When Oliver, after a year telling Laurel he was sorry, dated Sara Lance again, I knew the first five episodes that I loved were done. When they made a terrible (TERRIBLE) season two finale, with Slade Wilson being a messy character, and Oliver telling Felicity he loved her (a WEEK before asking Sara to move in with him), I knew Arrow wasn’t worth watching.
But I stayed, because I loved Dinah Laurel Lance. And I wanted so bad to watch her as Black Canary. And even if I was disappointed as hell with everything they did, I was there to watch the real Black Canary.
Again, when Green (?) Arrow didn’t care about Black Canary being Black Canary, I knew I hated Arrow. When he decided to leave the city to be Felicity’s boyfriend, I knew I hated Arrow.
And when they killed Black Canary, I couldn’t cry (ok, I cried a little). I was happy. Because they didn’t deserve Black Canary. Laurel Lance being great was an accident. They didn’t mean her to be that good. They didn’t want people to like her.
So, I don’t care about Stephen Amell. The only people who likes his Green Arrow are Oliciters, and they only care about Felicity. Arrow is a joke. Arrow’s reddit forum is about Daredevil. People can only laugh. The show is terrible, their characters are terrible, and their romance ruined the show.
The best thing that ever happed to Katie Cassidy was leave Arrow. It’s a sinking boat. Nobody will ever respect their version.
Arrow is dead. They just didn’t tell Stephen Amell yet.
Lauriver
I am here just to remind you that Oliver Jonas Queen always knew Dinah Laurel Lance was better than him and never deserved a guy like him. Just to remind you that he loved her, but knew she deserved better. Just to remind you he doesn’t care that much about his ~~new love~~ and knows she isn’t as great as Laurel was. Just to remember he doesn’t care about being a piece of shit for her, but cared about Laurel.
Deal with the facts, people. Laurel was better than anyone else, and Oliver knew he had to be far better to be near her.
Just a fellow reminder that no episode after Katie Cassidy's final episode surpassed in viewership or ratings.
Have you seen this? www(.)crazydaysandnights(.)net/2016/05/blind-items-revealed-3-457 What do you think? I really don't get why they keep saying bad things about KC. The last comment though.
Well, this is a lie. If Katie had all this power, do you really think she would be out of Arrow right now?
I've stopped watching Arrow mid-season 3 and after everything I've read/seen recently I'm glad I did. The whole reason why I gave this show a shot was because of Katie Cassidy and my god they screwed her character pretty bad! I'm all for not following the exact patterns of the comics but to acknowledge that Olicity is endgame instead of Lauriver? I just can't. I just came accross your blog and just wanted to rant about the sadness that is this show. But good for the Olicity fans...
I don’t think O/F fans have much to celebrate, anon. Arrow, right now, is a joke. And everyone knows this is O/F fault.
I know it’s difficult to see it in that light right now, but Arrow will never be a show to remember. They only had two nice seasons, and the show ended after season 2.
If Katie really left, and they don’t bring her back, this is the best thing that ever happened to her. Laurel wasn’t a fan favorite until season two, and everyone knows she is the best (and maybe only good) part of season 3 and 4.
We all know O/F fans won’t ever say this out loud, but everyone, including them, knows the couple never worked and destroyed the show.
Ten years from now, when people look back at Arrow, everyone will say “oh, this was a show to forget.”
Would it not be cool at the end of the season, last show, just before the show fades out - 3 people are fighting, 2 against one. Once the fight is done they take off their hoods one is Nyssa the other is Katana. They were fighting, Laurel, The BLACK CANARY and she just kick their ass - they all smile.
Yeah, it would. Anything to prove that my girl is still alive, and that her journey is not over, and she can still try to save the world.
But I wouldn’t like to see Laurel back on the show, because more than anything, her death proves that they never deserved her.
Do you still love them after 4x19?
I will always love them, anon. 4.19 wasn’t anything different than my headcanon. I always knew they were not ready for what happened in 1.22, and that their choices that night were the reason they never got back together again.
It was a choice for both of them, first for Oliver and after that for Laurel (because when he came back in 2.01 he wanted to know if she figure anything out, and she said they shouldn’t be together). They choose to not go there because they know they would just hurt themselves more.
I still think Oliver and Laurel would be a great love story. I still think they would eventually find each other again.
And I am sorry if I don’t see the truth in Oliver’s love for Felicity, but I don’t care anymore. Laurel was the person who inspired him to be better, she saw the best in him when nobody else did, and he spend the last eight years trying to be that person.
I think he likes Felicity, I think he thinks he is happy, but he will never be as happy with Felicity as he could be with Laurel.
And now we will never know, because she is dead, and I am just glad he could know she loved him. And I am glad we had that letter, because not for one second I think he forgot about that. Oliver knew Laurel deserved a better version of him, but he loved her anyway.
This version of him can be good for Sara, for Felicity, for any other girl in the world, but he wouldn’t be this guy for Laurel.
So they completely change what established before, AGAIN. at the beginning of s2 L/O were supposed to never ever have seen each other after T funeral, and that they both felt so guilty that they couldn't stay together. Now we find out L was ready to move in with O just after the eulogy, and O kind of run away from her AGAIN. WTAF! do they think we wanted this kind of cookie goodbye? i didn't think it was possible for them to reach a new low and ruin GA/BC even more. so depressing
I didn’t feel the same. I mean, I don’t really like that they think it’s possible to change things after three seasons, but well... for me it’s normal that Laurel was ready to move on, because Laurel never loved Tommy the same way he did. And she didn’t have ANY reason to be gulity about it, because she ever cheated on Tommy, and he was the only reason she ever found out about Oliver’s feelings.
Tommy knew Laurel loved Oliver, and he knew she would choose Oliver if she knew he was the vigilante. And he was ok with that fact, and that’s why he was a terrible friend for both of them, and in the end was the cause they were both hurt in the end of the day.
Because if you accepted what Arrow said yesterday, Oliver didn’t run away from Laurel because he wanted to. He did that because he wasn’t ready, and he said to Tommy he wasn’t ready. He didn’t want Laurel to find out the truth, because Oliver always knew Laurel deserved better.
When Tommy decided to not respect what Oliver and Laurel felt, and said to Laurel that Oliver loved her, he made both of them make a decision they were not ready for. Laurel was not ready to face her feelings for Oliver, and Oliver was not ready to let Laurel know who he really was.
And after Tommy died, Laurel wanted to move on, and Oliver couldn’t, because he was the one feeling guilty, and not because he slept with Laurel, but because he was there and couldn’t save Tommy.
Let’s face it: Laurel and Oliver sleeping together was kind of Tommy’s choice. It was a consequence of him behaving like a 12 years old kind, who always knew the pretty girl couldn’t love him, but wanted her anyway. And after a few months he was so sure of that, that he didn’t care about the consequences of what he was doing.
So if last night’s episode was the truth, Laurel wasn’t just feeling guilty. She was hurt. Oliver broke her heart again, because he wasn’t ready again. But in the end I kind of see the beauty in this: Oliver always knew Laurel didn’t deserve this version of him. He always knew she deserved better, and because he knew that, he decide he should move on.
Laurel was the best part of him, and he always protected her from himself. I don’t know what that means for his other relationships, because last night set that Oliver knows he still is far away from that guy. But he wouldn’t be less than that for Laurel.“I love her and before she died she told me she loved me too.”
Will you still be watching/posting? Im so sad some of my fav blogs are gonna disappear. I don't blame them, I want to never ever visit an Arrow tag again (the awful arrogant condescending hate is killing all good juju) but I don't know how to just give up Lauriver/laurel.
I won’t watch Arrow again, unless they somehow bring Katie back (And I don’t want them to). But I will be here sometimes. I will never give up on them.
Did laurel have any children?
Arrow’s Laurel didn’t have children. Dinah has Olivia in some comic books.
#RESPECT: No Laurel without Lauriver
Stop speaking for us, stop talking about us, stop speaking for people who ship/ped Laurel & Oliver (Lauriver). YES were are heartbroken Laurel and Oliver will never be together again/will never have scenes again, just as much as we are that, they killed her character for Felicity/Olicity and other wack reasons. Yes Lauriver is part of why some of us are furious over the death, yes its a valid factor as any you have too.
Why are you erasing & mocking who the true love of her love is? You heard the woman, Oliver Queen was the love of her life. How can you love her and not respect her choice. Her right to love who she loved. Did you ever understood what a compassionate, tremendously forgiving and deeply loving person she was. Oliver was a big part of her past, present and could have been in the future too, romantic or not. Go ahead and say its Tommy, the man who harassed her to date him and was almost never there for her when she needed him. Forget that she never loved him that way or that much or that way. Or that crazy fanwank theory that its Sara, totally missing the point that this is about romantic/sexual life. Was she not supposed to have one and to never love a man.
Some of you are still stuck on the island or pre island, but Laurel had moved on from that. She didnt judge people on their past but their present and what they could be in the future. Present Oliver mistreating Laurel is largely the writers fault, turning the character OOC to please Olicity/Felicity fans. The real Oliver would never have been perfect but he would have been remorseful and repenting. The true enemy is and was never lauriver, its Felicity/Olicity/Olicity fandom/Marc Gag & Windy..
FYI Oliver Queen as well as the whole show is and has suffered because of this. He has regressed and lost most of his growth because of the Olicity factor. He is Faux Oliver now but Laurel still remembered the real good man she always loved and the man he could be again. Make no mistake DLL was incredibly forgiving but she was not a fool or a doormat. She really meant it because thats what she felt, she was not a liar either. Its not about loving Lauriver, its about respecting the character’s history, viewpoint and wishes. If actual Dinah Laurel Lance fans cannot do that then who will, if we can erase and downplay her words, then what do you expect of Olicity fans . Yes I realize that the writing in that scene wasn’t perfect, but its Arrow, it could have been worse. But there is nothing imperfect about her, being with one of the closest people in her life, during her last living moments.
You have to look at this from Laurel’s side, even though she was talking to Fauxliver she was thinking and talking about Real Oliver. That the man who was the love of her life, thats the man she sees when you strip away all the Olicityness fakery of him. Laurel’s Oliver is a selfless and atoning man, a man who loves his friends and family deeply, an undying champion for his city…I believe the real Oliver would have told her she was/is the love of his life too or that he loved her, or just something kind like a decent human would. But that man is gone, all that is left now is his hologram.
You think Lauriver was terrible, well I hope you have a fantastic time enjoying the show stopper Olicity (no, please save your self). I understand the troubles Lauriver/Oliver brought to Laurel, hey I also understand the troubles Felicity/Olicity brings to Oliver and he is/was (not sure) my favorite too. But at the same time I also understand that both ships have some good in them and without a doubt I believer LAURIVER had a lot more good for the characters and the show than Olicity could ever have. A good ship that was badly treated. Lets just not look at the bad, lets credit and celebrate the good too.
At least in this lifetime and in this universe, in this earth, there would be no Laurel without Lauriver. Shared history, lovers, best friends, workmates, heroes, family. LAURIVER was a big part of her story just as was her family, her law career, Black Canary etc, so its disheartening and saddening to see some people slandering Lauriver. Because to do so is to bash and diminish Laurel too. There is a reason why there is an LAU/LAUR in Lauriver. We were once one fandom lets not insult any part of the memory of our favorite’ story. Hey I wasn’t such a big fan of the addiction story either. But everything, good or bad was part of her and it made her who she is. Gone Too Soon.
*sniff* I had to go back and change a lot of of present tenses to past tenses, probably missed some.
Tommy would never be the love of her life, because Laurel never loved Tommy the same way she loved Oliver. She knew it and Tommy knew it. She loved Tommy as a friend, as a man, but not the same way she loved Oliver.
There is a reason she was there for him in the last four years. There is a reason she stood by his side after finding out he was the Arrow.
Laurel always saw the best in Oliver, and she always loved him. He was the love of her life, and she made peace with maybe not being the love of his.
We will never know, because right know he is in love with Felicity, and just like he said “why now?”. Oliver believed Laurel would be ok and survive, and now she is dead. He won’t ever face his feelings for her, he will never understand, because it’s not possible for him to be with her that way again.
But the truth is that she will always be his home. Laurel accepted who he was before the island and believed he could be a better man. Laurel accepted his choices after the island, and still believed he could be a better man and a better hero. All she wanted was Oliver happy.
Long live, Laurel Lance. A woman who truly understood the meaning of love: respect and wish the person in you love the best, even if it’s not by your side.

you know the fefe actress didn't even acknowledge laurel's death even grant gustin posted something on twitter but this person is ignoring it like it's not even worth talking about.. and what's really sad is knowing KC would show endless support to this woman and be her friend if things were the other way around. I'm sad that Laurel is dead because she deserved better but I'm glad KC is gone because she deserves so so much better than this flock of assholes.
My words, dear. My words exactly.
