notes. no because i’m such a sucker for next-door neighbor tropes and friends to lovers and i’m such a sucker for thoma- he would definitely be the best neighbor to have. i hope you guys all have a great summer, and if you’re a student like me, don’t forget to do your summer homework and don’t procrastinate!! hope you enjoy <33
with the end of your school year came a new season. you didn’t hate summer; you always made some pretty good memories with your friends, but this year every single one of them were either off to some summer camp or off on vacation. they promised they’d still contact you, but you knew it wouldn’t be the same. other than sitting around all day and playing some video games and maybe getting started on your summer homework, you didn’t have any plans on what to do.
then one day, you were in your backyard to get some fresh air after playing a few too many hours of video games, and you heard a chipper voice from over the fence.
“heya neighbor! fancy meeting you on such nice day!”
you initially jumped, not having expected a voice. your neighbors had moved out a few months prior and although you had seen the moving vans and furniture being put into the house, you never actually met your neighbor. but, frankly, you didn’t have too much of an interest because it was probably some random family with children that probably wouldn’t be around your age.
but now that you saw this blonde boy with a bright and youthful face peering at you over the fence, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad to get to know him a little.
“hi,” you responded cheerfully, “i’m y/n, what’s your name?”
after hearing your answer, his face somehow seemed to brighten up even more.
“i’m thoma! i moved here pretty recently, but i’m sure you were able to tell.”
you stifled a laugh when you realized that he was probably standing on something to be able to talk over the fence. “hey, why not come over into my yard so we can talk a bit more comfortably.”
“really?”
“really.”
in a few moments, thoma entered your backyard and it was then when you noticed how tall he was. in fact, he was probably just standing on the tips of his toes when he was talking to you. he was dressed pretty fashionably in a black tank top and (dangerously) skinny jeans with a red corduroy jacket. he had a few badges and pins on his jacket, but you couldn’t tell what they were. his penchant necklace jangled happily as he merrily walked over to you.
“aren’t you hot in that corduroy jacket,” you asked, wondering how he could handle the heat.
he shrugged. “doesn’t bother me too much. so, y/n, i’m guessing you lived around these parts longer than i have. would you mind telling me more about here? like do you know if there’s a good japanese place nearby?”
“i mean, a good 30 minutes away there’s a big japanese store with lots of stuff. but there’s also a boba place walking distance, even though it’s not exactly japanese.”
“boba?” thoma’s eyes widened and you could have sworn they started sparkling. if he was a dog, you were certain his tail would be wagging furiously. in fact, the more you talked to him the more you noticed how dog-like he was.
“yeah! we could get some boba right now since it’s getting pretty hot,” you suggested.
his grin widened and he clapped his hands together. “if you’re comfortable with it, we can take my car since the heat’s picking up and you can direct me to the way there.”
you nodded and asked him to give you a moment to get your stuff. you rushed into your house, while not trying to look too excited, and started going through your closet. you were going to drink boba with a boy you just met, but he was so sweet and sincere and genuine and fun. in a few minutes, you managed to put together a stylish but casual outfit that didn’t precisely match thoma’s outfit but still shared some sort of familiarity that wouldn’t scream
“they’re-together-as-a-pair,” but would still say “they’re-together-ish”. you looked in the mirror once more and let out a deep breath. you got this. whatever it is.
you bounded down the stairs and saw thoma still in the backyard, crouched over and looking at a small flower very closely. you snuck up to him as silently as possible and tried to scare him. although his reaction wasn’t big, the way he jumped slightly still made you satisfied. when he noticed that it was you he started smiling again.
this time it was your heart that jumped.
“ready to go?” he gestured to the front and you nodded wordlessly.
like a gentleman, he opened the door to his car for you and made sure you were comfortable before starting up the car. he told you that you could put on any song that you wanted. you connected your phone to the car and put on one of your favorite driving songs.
thoma looked at you once the first few notes started, his bright eyes gleaming. “hey! i love that song,” he exclaimed.
so it seemed he had a similar taste in music as you as well. you turned up the volume and thoma opened the windows in response, the music drowning out any worries and the wind blowing away your concerns.
the two of you sang together in harmony, and you could feel thoma’s eyes watching you as you jammed out. it made you nervous but in the most heart-fluttering way. at one point you dared to meet your eyes with his and all he did was give you another smile that made you feel like you were flying.
when you finally reached your destination, you were almost disappointed that it was over. once again, he opened the door for you and you guided him to the boba place. after the two of you made your orders and got your drinks, thoma hummed in approval.
“this is some good boba, i’ll have to come around here often.” he took another sip.
“there’s a lot of people during school, but it’s never crowded,” you informed him, realizing that technically he didn’t even know anyone at school yet. “hey, that means you’re transferring to where i’m going right?”
“yup, and i, unfortunately, don’t know anyone there. well, except for you, of course! and the way i see it, you’re the only friend that i’ll need.”
you started fanning your face from how hot it was starting to get. “you’ll make friends easily, thoma. i can’t see how anyone wouldn’t want to hang out with you!”
“is that so? well i think i’ll still like hanging out with you best.”
you nearly could’ve choked on your boba.
“let’s get back into the car and drive around for a little bit,” thoma suggested and the you agreed.
the two of you drove around the neighborhood, blasting your favorite music and singing out at the top of your lungs and waving your hand out the window for what felt like hours. when the sun started to get low, thoma made his way back to where you lived and the two of you got out.
you said your goodbyes, and you felt disappointed again that the special moment was ending, but thoma said the words that made you excited again for whatever was to come next.
“see you again tomorrow!”
maybe with thoma around, your summer wouldn’t be as terrible as you thought.
summary. albedo meets an adventurer who offers him some dust of azoth, exactly something he needed.

notes. this is a series made off of my albedo x reader oneshot titled “destiny.” yeah so this is the first and worst one out of the whole series- this was kinda hard because it needed to also make sense on its own. but anyway, enjoy the first part of my first genshin series, destiny! <3
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6
“mister albedo, you have a visitor.”
“in a moment, sucrose, i just need to finish writing this down. can you tell me who it is?”
“i’m...not quite sure. but it looks like an adventurer.”
albedo finished scrawling in his notebook and looked up to see sucrose standing at the front of the cave. as far as he remembered, he didn’t recall asking anyone to come by, so you must have come on their own accords. well, he had a bit of time on his hands, there would be no harm in inviting them inside. now that it was sunset and the inside of the cave was filled with a warm golden glow, and the cold and the wind must have picked up. the snow must have been biting at you this whole time.
he sighed. “tell them they can come in.”
sucrose nodded and albedo watched carefully to see who turned the corner. as sucrose said, it looked like it was an adventurer based on the green clothing, but there was a unique hat with a peacock feather atop your head and a green bandana around your wrist. you were carrying a backpack that seemed to be quite heavy.
“nice to meet you, i am albedo, chief alchemist of the knights of favonius,” albedo stated, hoping to get to know you a bit better.
“nice to meet you too, i am y/n, an adventurer. i came by to give you some since I heard that alchemists are always in the need of some dust of azoth. i happened to have some leftover after an expedition. since you’re the chief alchemist, of course, i assumed you would like some.”
albedo's eyes widened slightly. he was, indeed, in desperate need of some dust of azoth for an experiment.
but albedo wasn’t exactly sure how to react as he watched you fumble with your words and play with your fingers. was his presence making you uncomfortable? or perhaps you were just a bit more on the nervous type. understandable, albedo wasn’t one to socialize much either.
he took the time to look over you once more. you seemed to be from mondstadt based on the accent, and you certainly looked like an adventurer at first glance but he noticed that the uniform was slightly different. as another chilly breeze came into the cave, he watched as you clutched your hat tightly. albedo could catch the scent of smoke and cecilias.
“thank you, y/n, it is very thoughtful of you. i am always in need of dust of azoth after all,” albedo finally replied.
your eyes lit up and you heaved your backpack off to take out the jars of the precious powder. you handed it to him and the tips of your fingers just barely touched. despite the freezing weather, your hands were still warm which albedo found surprising. perhaps you would let him do some research on your blood.
“well i’m glad that someone found some use for this dust,” you chuckled lightly as you slung your backpack over your shoulder, “most of the alchemists in the city wouldn’t take it saying that they only wanted items from real adventurers.”
albedo quirked an eyebrow, “what do you mean by that? are you not an adventurer yourself?”
“i’m technically not considered one yet because the adventurer’s guild has yet to accept me.”
“yet you have found one of the most rare items in all of teyvat, how is this?” albedo was struggling to understand how someone such as you had not yet joined the adventurer’s guild.
“for starters, i’m apparently too young. secondly, they seem to have some prejudice against me, but i’m not sure what it’s about. i’ve done so much, i can’t understand why i’m not in yet.”
albedo’s mouth spoke before he could even process what he was saying, “would you like to stay for a bit? i would like to hear more about what you have done.”
albedo watched your eyes widen. “are you sure? i’m sure you’re a very busy man…”
“i insist,” albedo interrupted, “i would like to know more about your discoveries.”
“well, i suppose i could do that.”
albedo gave you a hint of a smile. he walked over to sucrose who was still standing outside of the laboratory. their alchemy work was done for the day. “you can finish up the textbook questions i gave you,” albedo dismissed and sucrose nodded to gather her things and leave. the young alchemist turned to face you again, the sunset reaching its finale behind him.
“now that it is just the two of us, come take a seat and let us talk.”
summary. you and ayato go on a date at the amusement park
ft. ayato x gn! reader
cw. modern!au, high school ayato and reader
wc. 0.5k
notes. aaaa i was sad because i was hoping to go to korea last summer with friends and family but obviously the pandemic hit :(( so i’m writing with the hope that i can go next summer or during my senior year. i dunno if i wrote for ayato very well and i’m not sure if i got down his character correctly, so let me know how i can improve since i want to write for him more :D
when ayato learned that he had a day off (somehow), he had asked you if you could join him in going to the amusement park. you had known that your boyfriend was constantly under stress from being head of the student council, but now that he was able to relax, it was like watching a kid in a candy store. he always had his many sides that he’d show to people: his mature side to the rest of the school, his playful side to his friends, and his reliable side to his sister. but when he was with you, an unexpected cutesy side came out.
ayato was so ecstatic to come to an amusement park, but he had no clue what couples normally did. you had suggested to buy some matching headbands and he quickly bought two frog headbands for each of you. admittedly, it was strange seeing something so childish on ayato’s head, but it was oddly perfect for him despite the fact that he was still wearing his school uniform.
the two of you had spent most of the day going on numerous rides. ayato had been dragging you from one line to another and riding some of the roller coasters several times. he had been laughing while riding the drop rides and the spinning rides and hadn’t gotten sick unlike the other people you saw once you had gotten off of the ride. ayato’s adrenaline high was evident by his excitement to go over and over again and you had to drag him away saying that there were other rides.
ayato had been interested in trying to beat the high score for a strength tester after a man with white hair and red highlights wearing had bragged about getting the latest high score. ayato calmly paid for it and hit the puck as hard as he could. he tried to maintain a composed face as he watched the number increase and eventually flash with the words “new high score!” but you noticed ayato’s slight smirk when the white-haired man’s jaw dropped. he won a large teddy bear doll and had given it to you.
however, this was not the only prize that he won as he constantly won the largest prizes at every booth. unsurprisingly, he was good at every game, and you were given one plushie after another. at one point, there were simply too many for you to carry so you and ayato gave them to young children whose faces would glow with glee.
right before the sun started setting and you and ayato finished going on all of the rides and trying all of the games, you got on the ferris wheel. after all, what better way was there to end the trip than by going on the ferris wheel as the sky started to glitter in shades of pink and orange? as you watched the view from outside the window, the two of you sat side by side in comfortable silence. the kiss that you shared was sweet like the cotton candy you had enjoyed earlier.
although the day eventually would eventually have to come to a close and ayato would have to go back to being busy every day with school, you held onto that saccharine moment.
Using both Glaze and Nightshade would corrupt the generation of pictures mimicking artist AND mess with the AI's recognition of what everything is. Like it would generate a dog when you ask for a cat.
And it would be hell for AI bros to remove the cloaked pictures from their database ʕ 👀人ʔ
