" -And I'll remind you of that every day for the rest of my life"
I was stuck in an airport with the thought 'Buggy would find a way to incorporate "I'm still mad at you" into his wedding vows' and then it spiraled a bit.

I don't know why I did this
Kudos to Oda for accurately portraying how powerful & smart & resilient & brave & terrifying little girls are. Gotta be one of the most radical things he's done for the shonen genre.
@murphmurphthejerk
Regarding the conversation in the replies, the SBS where Oda addressed why Sanji isn't creepy toward Reiju is in volume 85, chapter 852.
That whole page is actually great, that's also where we got the Straw Hat speed ranking and Oda addressing Big Mom using "ore" and that he's surprised the fans didn't seem to care that Ivankov uses a made-up neo-pronoun "vatashi".
Oda is pretty bad with drawing women too sexualized but Toei makes it seem way worse than it is. Here's how a bunch of characters look in the manga.
Yeah some of them are still too much, but I don't think people are thinking of the manga sometimes when they make fun of the more egregious designs.
i think the above reply would be aided by some direct comparison between how oda draws his female characters vs how toei/the anime does
+ many more such examples. oda's drawings/the manga feel so tame without the bouncing sound effects and the jiggle shine bullshit toei is always pulling. they also add in unneccesary angles and close ups that straight up weren't there in the manga (like in the robin pic above, and the scene with rebecca in dressrosa where she meets luffy) (same could be said for the way sanji's perv gags are like one line throwaways in the manga that get turned into fully animated sequences in the show)
all this to say, even as a huge one piece fan, oda still doesn't treat women great, he enforces gender roles pretty heavily even if he does allow them their moments, and if he isn't sexualizing them he's putting them on a pedestal. you can tell he has a love for women (multiple...kinds of love) but he still needs to work on some stuff
but op was right on the money and i love how he writes kids, especially little girls. and he does have some sense, as seen with his reply about reiju. like it's such a low bar but it made me so happy lmfao
if you're scrolling tumblr right now because you're struggling to complete a project or assignment, take a moment to do the following:
get up and grab a resealable plastic (ziploc) bag
fill it with warm water from the sink
it will probably be somewhat difficult to fill it with warm water from the sink. youre taking a break. don't worry about it. trying to fill up the plastic bag full of warm water even though it's silly and slippery and soaks your hands. it's part of the fun
when it's full, go show someone. tell them you filled a bag with water. when they touch it, they won't expect it to be warm, and they'll tell you "ooh, it's warm!" you know this though. it's a little surprise for them
enjoy the warm water bag with them. it's fun. it probably won't spill if you sealed it well. hold it with your hands. press it against your face-- it's relaxing. jiggle it around a little bit. feel the nice, plasticky-warm texture. it's the warm water bag. it's the bag filled with water and it's fun
when you're done, take a pin or other sharp object (a pen works, but pins are best!) and bring the bag back to the sink. poke a hole in the bag with the pin. the water probably won't come out very fast. poke more if you'd like. maybe try dragging the pin across the bag and see if you can make a cut. poke many holes in it. it's fun!
throw the bag away when you're done. youve just relaxed with the bag of warm water
congratulations! try to go do your project again and you might find it easier. and if not, you've made a few water-bag based memories, or at least had a laugh or two :)
You could also fill your socks with river water and then wear them if you want :)
I like this option since It's quick, it's easy, and it's free.
