“I am taking all the classes required for wizarding law enforcement but it is a lot of fun. I enjoy a good afternoon in the library.” Shang heard his stomach rumble. He must have forgotten to eat in between leaving the castle and heading to the pitch. He wanted to ask her what she wanted to do after graduation but it was so early in the year to even think about graduation.

“The library is my favorite place for studying or getting cozy! Actually, I lied, I think in front of a fireplace in a library is the best. But anyways, it’s obviously a good place to study and read. What kinds of classes do you have to take for wizarding law enforcement?” she wondered. Layla wasn’t actually considering law enforcement but it would be fun to know about it and maybe even the different laws.

The kind that’s inviting, but doesn’t tell a person they’re free to stay forever. The arrangement of the room is already good to go, it’s just the ambiance that needs work.Yeah, I get what you mean, we don’t want it too boring or modern, just like we don’t want it too comfortable; we need a good middle ground.

Alright... ambience. Does your classroom have any windows? The kinds of drapes you have could really change the mood up. And the lighting. Candles would make it too homey but maybe better lighting. Definitely no paintings because that’s also more of a homey feel but maybe posters? I don’t know if you have any inspirational ones but those ones could work. Oh and the smell. You’d probably want to keep it neutral or at least stray from strongly scented candles. Maybe if you keep the windows open you’ll be good.

Vlad nodded in agreement, considering the conversation all but over. That was until she asked what food he served. That was something he could talk about for hours. “Anything you wish. My hire only the best chefs the area has to offer and the menu consists of a number of dishes that star the freshest ingredients of the season. But we also boast vast culinary skills that allow my chefs to create any dish the customer wishes to have. I love it when people know just what they want and we’re able to deliver a meal they’ll never forget.”

Layla smiled as she listened to him talk about food. His restaurant sounded like it had everything. Obviously since he was so invested in the restaurant, he wouldn’t know if some dishes didn’t taste as amazing as others but that was fine. She did wonder about how he had all the ingredients required to serve any dish a customer desires but she was too focused on the different dishes to care enough to ask “If you’re serious about the food your place will be my go to. Basically any craving I have I can come and get! Do you need reservations? I feel like you should because if everyone knew about this place, everyone would want to eat here.”

Well, I’ve got some photos for my desk, but other than that, I’m not really sure. Normally, I’d ask my boyfriend for help, but I wanted to see if I could do it myself; I can’t. I just want it to feel comfortable, and inviting, I guess? I don’t know, I’m never going to know the answer to any sort of design question.

What kind of comfortable? I mean you could always go for a lounge kind of feel but that’s probably not the best for a class unless it’s discussion based. The main thing I’d stray from is having the walls completely bare and just the bare minimum desks because then it feels more... I don’t know bland? Monotonous, you know?

I’m sorry... I’m probably not helping at all. I feel like we should do something positive with this, although I’m sure there’s not a whole lot of awareness you can bring to ferris wheel accidents.

“I’m not surprised. You’ll have to come visit my restaurant on your Hogsmeade weekends once I have the place up and running again. Then we’ll see what you have to say about it being more beautiful in ruins.” Vlad responded with a touch of challenge to his voice. He honestly could care less if she ever came back, but he had to aim for another regular customer and could put on the charm as long as it was needed.

"Alright, I definitely will,” she said with a smile. “I’ll bet it’s pretty nice too, all hustle and bustle, filled with people,” she mumbled. Layla was half there with Vlad, half in her own mind, already thinking about what the place looked like full. Of course, she was making up the interior design in her head and it would all depend on the theme Vald picked out. “What kind of food do you serve anyways?”

Letting it become normal doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten. It means you’ve accepted it as reality.

“Too much work and no play is exhausting. But if you think you can manage, I don’t want to be a bother and tag along.”

“Well, honestly, my plan right now is just to ask around. Someone’s got to recognize her eventually.”

But um that’s not... your brain will naturally do it... probably for health reasons or evolution would’ve wiped it out...

“Take out and a walk it is.” Shang motioned for Layla to go ahead. “Uh,” Shang was never a smooth talker with the ladies, “So, how are classes going?” 

“Perfect,” Layla smiled as she lead the way. “Classes are pretty good. I mean there’s always room for improvement but I’m not doing terribly or anything. What about you?”

“She is quite adorable,” Denahi scratched the cat’s head and smiled. “And well behaved. If I didn’t know her owner was missing her I might have just kept her.”

“This is why people should put collars on their pets,” Layla stated. “How are you going to find the owner?”

“Right.  Good luck.  Maybe I’ll see you in class if you’re actually serious.”

This kid was making her blood boil. Layla knew she would have to read all she could as quick as she could about all of this. It had been a while since she had been so incredibly driven to learn everything about a particular subject. “Don’t worry, I’ll be there,” she said in a huff before she walked off, already making to do lists in her head.
