Kian was beyond ready for the lightning to hit Gringotts, and when it didn’t, when Diagon Alley went dark, he joined everyone in their panic. It took a second to settle in, but soon he was hurrying around. His first instinct was to look for any familiar face, one of his siblings or his friends. The last time something crazy happened, he was safely at home with Lydia. Now, everyone was scattered and he hated it. There were flashes of silver here and there, and he could hear the casting of spells. As his mind raced, he was looking anywhere but directly in front of himself and ran right into someone. “What the hell- sorry, you okay? Why’re you just standing there? D’you have any idea what’s goin’ on?”
It took a moment for Lorcan to realize what was going on. But just as his fight or flight instinct kicked in, Kian came crashing into him. “Ki!” he shouted, nearly having karate chopped him right in the neck. “You bloody scared me.” Taking a breath, suddenly he swatted Kian on the shoulder. “Who cares, let’s get out of here,” he insisted, bolting off away from the alley and hoping Kian would follow him.
