"need a hand?" or two, three, four? he's got more than he knows what to do with most days, even with the constant commotion of khadi's kitchen. "you look like you could use the help. i know it's a madhouse out there."
Roxy didnât like to admit when she was overwhelmed, but when asked if she needed the help, she couldnât lie. âThat would actually be incredible! And I promise Iâm not crying because weâre busy and I feel like Iâm losing my mind, Iâm crying because I didnât prep enough onions so Iâm trying to chop some, on top of everything else going on!â Roxy dapped her eyes with a white rag in her hands. âTheyâre never going to let me cook again.â She let out an exasperated breath as her, now free from onion tears, eyes met the number of orders they had in progress.
Alexander absentmindedly toyed with the bracelet around his wrist as he sat with his friend. Heâd either been exploring the wastelands or sleeping lately, so he found himself having to play catch up with his friends.
âSorry man, I know I kind of disappeared. Anything new going on with you?â He asked, feeling a pang of guilt- like he hadnât been a great friend. Mimicking just took a lot out of him sometimes, and being a Scavenger on top of that just made him feel exhausted most of the time.
âYouâre not gonna do anything crazy this time, are you?â The corner of his mouth inched upward as he teased the other. Theyâd met a few times, and Alex had seen him in his other form. It was quite a sight, especially out in the wastes.
Despite the few years it took Roxy to be okay enough to even step foot in Sector One again, she made sure to stay in contact with the Scavengers. She would often bring them desserts or make sure they left with enough food and water; it was something she'd done for Sector One while her father was still alive and working there. She was in good standing with the Sector, which is exactly why she arrived with a container of brownies for the others to enjoy-- kind of like a treat for risking their lives... although Roxy knew a dessert couldn't really make up for that.
"Hi! I've come bearing gifts!" She announced as she held up the container.
pausing, ed is surprised to be addressed so plainly... if only because he's been making his best attempt to be quiet. he's not here for the booksâhe is capable of reading ( maybe not well ) but is bored by it. much better to just have someone tell him if there's anything inside one he needs to know. otherwise, paper and book spines are just something he finds relaxing to chew on. when left uncaught. "...i don't sleep a lot," he admits slowly, yellow eyes sharp and unblinking, owlish. "how did you hear me? i thought i was being quiet. i even hid my scent." the idea that mere coincidence could have outdone him... impossible! likely. "i was just practicing in case i had to fight you."
Hazel eyes watched the other for a moment as he wondered if he should be wary of himâ although, in Alexanderâs mind, everyone should be wary of each other. âIâm always alert. In my line of work you have to be.â It wasnât an insult to the council security, especially since Alexander hadnât quite placed the other as being part of it, he simply meant that, as a Scavenger, he knew to always watch his back, know his surroundings, and never fully let his guard down around others.
âUnless checking out a book to read is an offense worth fighting over, I donât think you will need to worry about me. Besides, Iâm tired, I donât feel like fighting anyone tonight.â He already felt sore from his adventures in the wastelands earlier that day, he didnât need to add any more bruises to his skin.
                          â why is it anytime i try to help, all that happens is chaos ? and i didn't even try with this last dilemma; it just . . . happened . â getting mixed up with the society, the damned, and then the society again ! all nothing, compared to what she'd done . what she'd created, who she'd created . and all on an uncontrolled impulse of grief . â you know what the worst of it is . . . the fact that i can't bring myself to be honest about any of it, that if i did, i'd end up the villain . â
Roxy was trying her best to listen to the other speak as she mixed the batter in the bowl, but in classic Roxy fashion, she was struggling to keep up. âWait, why would you be the villain? Am I missing something?â
As a scavenger, Alexander had grown used to grueling missions in the wastelands, so he often spent a few hours in the afternoon or evenings sleeping off the excursion after cleaning himself up from all the dust that caked his boots and suit. Once rested, he typically found himself in the library to begin reading. And sometimes, like now, he found himself visiting the library at late hours of the night. Often times he read books about the wastelands and the old earth, but every now and then he liked to see if there was any good fiction he could get his hands on.
It was one of those days where he felt like his head was too full of burdensome worries to add any more information to it, so he headed off to the library to find something to read and allow himself to turn his brain off for a while. As he made his way between the shelves he spotted someone and asked, âcanât sleep either?â

how do they feel about living in sol city? have they always lived there or did they travel from another settlement?: Alexander feels very out of place in Sol City. He is grateful he lives there but he feels like he does not belong.
do they trust the councilâs leadership? why or why not?: Alexander trusts very few people, so he does not trust the council.
if they chose their sector and profession, why did they make that choice? if they didnât, why not? were they happy with their assignment or not?: He chose being a scavenger because he wanted to learn more about the wastelands. He feels as though he is contributing a lot by providing resources for others, and even though he says he doesnât believe he will learn anything about his birth parents in the wastes, he still has a tiny spark of hope that he will.
whatâs one object that they always keep on their person?: A bracelet given to him by his first love.
what is your characterâs ability (or abilities)?: can take strengths and abilities from different animals, some animals he can fully transform into.

what can your character do? what are their strengths?: take speed, strength, agility from different animals. Smaller animals such as a bird of cat, he can transform into. This takes a lot out of him, so he can only morph into a bird, a housecat, or an owl so far.
what canât they do? what are their weaknesses?: Using his powers for too long takes so much energy out of him that he has sometimes been bedridden from exhaustion for a day or two after overextending himself.

Abandoned in the wastelands, scavengers discovered Alexander and his twin sister and brought them back to Sol City. Somehow they were both alive and well, and while it was a mystery for some time who their mother was, it was later discovered she was a young woman named Ada, who gave birth to the twins and passed away mere days after. It was upsetting to think why she had left helpless babies in the wastelands, but it was best not to dwell on it. Or, at least that was what Esmeralda had said. Esmeralda, a stoic woman with a heart on fire for other, and a scavenger, decided she would take in the twins and raise them on her own in Sol City. She had always dreamt of having children of her own but was not able to. She loved the twins as though they were her own flesh and blood, but she did inevitably tell them how they came to become a little family of their own.Â
Alexander struggled with the idea of having been abandoned, and there was a turmoil within him because he knew he should be grateful for having been adopted by such a wonderful person, but he couldnât stop wondering about his parents, especially once he realized he had mutant powers. He could mimic animals, and while at first it was terrifying to be able to change the way he could, he began using his powers to his advantage. Alexander always knew he wanted to become a Scavenger, and part of that was due his fascination with his birthplace: the wastes. He never believed he would find answers to his birth parents there, but he received an odd sense of comfort from the lands. There was such a thrill that he felt when he had to go out and face the dangers of what the wastes may hold, and he always wondered how he and his sister survived. Was it the mutant genes, or something else?Â
Alexander worked hard, though he had a great fear of losing the ones he loved, so he often kept to himself when he wasnât on his excavations. His fear only amplified when he was on another mission into the wastelands, and his adoptive mother, Esme, was killed. He watched the life leave her as he held her in his arms.
Alexander is protective of those he loves, he has a kind heart but he has a difficult time showing it due to his cynical and hardened facade. He would do anything for the people he loves.

if they chose their sector and profession, why did they make that choice? if they didnât, why not? were they happy with their assignment or not?: Roxy chose her sector because her parents encouraged her to look into working in the "Safer sectors", and she happened to fall in love with cooking in the process.

Born to Antonio and Cheyanne del Rosario on a cold February night, Roxanne Ithica del Rosario became the couple's whole world. Despite the ruins of humanity, they were determined to give Roxanne as normal of a life as possible. It was difficult, as Antonio worked in Section 1 as a Scavenger. He was aware of the dangers he faced each time he stepped into the wastelands, but he kept his wife and daughter on his mind the whole time; he had to get back to them, it was a reminder to keep fighting no matter what he went through. Cheyanne worked in Section 4 as a surgeon, so she often saw some of the worst of what was happening. Roxanneâs parents shielded her from these horrors as much as they could, and while Roxanne wanted nothing more than to help others as much as her parents did, they encouraged her to seek the safer Sectors.Â
It was what had Roxanne finding herself in Sector 2 often. She loved watching the chefs create dishes out of what little resources they had. She thought of it as a craft and art form of its own, and perhaps her parents sending her to check on Sector 2 often is what planted the seed in her heart for a great love of cooking. Roxanne began her work in Sector 2 at a young age, and she learned from the other chefs as much as she could. And she realized that with how meals brought everyone together, she was helping. She was helping keep everyone fed and healthy. Her love for cooking grew so much that her father began seeking out old articles and books about the craft when he went on his missions. Over the years Roxanne had received quite the collection of old cook books that she loved sifting through and finding interesting recipes to try to make for everyone.
Everything was good, despite the circumstances. But when Roxanne received news that her father had an accident during one of his excursions, everything came crashing down. He was in the hospital units for months until his injuries claimed his life. Roxanne lost her spark, she spiraled into a depression, and she couldnât even get out of bed some days. Nothing seemed to help her get through the darkness after losing such a bright light in her life.Â
Roxanne continued her work in Sector 2 but she found great difficulty in serving people with a heart full, like she used to. It took until she realized that her father would want her to continue her good work, to keep her spark alive in her passion for cooking, that she finally felt some light come back into her life. Now she keeps her fatherâs memory alive by creating his favorite dishes and trying to continue living a life well lived.Â
