“It seems like we all were. Except maybe not Ryan. I’ve seen some former doctors here too. It’s so weird.” She nods. “He’s gonna be fine until we find him. He’s probably still asleep. If he’s even here. I hope he’s here and not on Earth alone.” She smiles. “No alien body snatcher here.” She shakes her head. “I don’t know much about this ship. Wanna help me explore it? I know it’s called the expanse and houses a ton of people, some chose to be here and, like us, some were forced here.”

it’s been ages since she’s seen him. longer still, since she’s seen this face. she hesitates slightly, unsure if she should approach. is she nervous? without the biological cues sometimes it’s hard to tell, but she is sure she feels silly for all the overthinking.

“Clara!” He says excitedly. ‘“I can live without my sonic but i miss it. Life’s easier with it. And I can’t find my TARDIS.” He sighs. “How’ve you been It’s so good to see you. I didn’t expect you on the ship. Did you get forced here too?” He hugs her tight, so happy she’s there.

A God? Castiel wondered who, exactly, he was speaking to, and he narrowed his eyes. He didn’t feel the same as the other gods he’d met, but he didn’t feel human, either. It was incredibly strange. “I can no longer fly. My wings are severely damaged, as are the other angels’.” It was still a sore spot, several years later. The guilt lingered and tore at him, one of his many failures; every angel falling from Heaven due to his own naivety. But he didn’t discuss that. “I don’t eat, but I could accompany you.” He supposed he could try to figure out more about what was going on, this way, find out what the other knew. “A couple of weeks. It doesn’t make sense. I should never have been asleep at all. How long have you been awake?”

“I’m apollo it’s nice to meet you.” He frowns. “Are your wings fixable? Or is it permanent?” He gasps. “How can you not eat? I love to eat. If I wasn’t so concerned about my figure I would eat nonstop.” He smiles. “I literally just woke up. Well not just. Of course I had to go to my room and check my appearance. Make sure I looked good.”

“Because my bowtruckle’s name is Pickett. Here look at him.” He picks the bowtruckle out of his pocket and smiles. “He somehow survived cryosleep. He’s not a pet he’s my best friend.” He nods. “They are so cute.I can’t wait to study them.”

“No,” Castiel responded. He quite liked the expression, though. He wasn’t quite sure how bees knees correlated with a person being cool, but bees themselves were incredibly interesting. He decided he would try to use it in future. “Heaven. My name is Castiel, and I’m an angel.” He had to stop himself from adding ‘of the Lord’. It was his usual introduction, a title that had felt appropriate up until recently, but he no longer wanted any affiliation with God. He wanted him dead.

“An angel? I’m a god. So you have wings and all that shit? That’s so cool man. Take me flying sometime.” He jokes. “wanna grab some food? Or do angels eat? I know nothing about angels at all.” He smiles. “How long have you been awake from the cryosleep?”

I’m guessing Amy’s your wife?” Perhaps he’s projecting, but he can imagine Grace would’ve done similar. Come away with the Doc and dragged him along with her and Ryan. “Where to start…she once landed the TARDIS on me good chair, and said it was my fault for keeping chairs in the house. She has a points ranking for us, but forgets who she’s given what points to when. She taught Ryan - he’s my grandson - to fly a crashing plane. With an app. That’s not even the half of it, I’m sure you could tell me similar about your Doc.”

He’s been around the block enough times to keep at least a vague eye on where they’re going. To try and start making sense of the ship’s layout.

“Three. We had Amy and me and sometimes River, the doctor’s wife and my daughter. So I guess she’s my daughter in law now. That’s a whole complicated story. Amy is my wife. She got pregnant on the TARDIS and it caused River to become part time lord. So she looks like she’s older than us. She was sent to kill the doctor but he thwarted the plans. She didn’t want to kill him she was just forced to. We ddn’t get to watch her grow up and she gave up her regenerations to the doctor after trying to kill him once. It’s complicated.” He leads him to his room and hands him a box. “Jammie dodgers just for you.”

“Your snacks? That’s not nice. Who do you think sent us here. My hunch is the master. He is always doing crazy things.” She shakes her head. ‘I have to do a bit of exploring. Figure out all the nooks and crannies. Search high and low for my TARDIS.”

yaz had skimmed every hall by now - twice. it was by luck that she had ran into graham first; she counted her blessings. the moment she saw the grey-haired man, she’d breathed for the first time since waking up on the ship. luckily, graham had assured her the doctor was on board, too. they’d yet to find ryan though, but yaz figured she’d search for him while searching to reunite with the blonde. any face was better than no face, after all. at last, her ears caught the familiar voice and yaz turned her head to see the time lord, “doctor!” there was a crowd in the room - too much buzzing to hear yaz over. “doctor!” she made her way towards the woman, finally relieved to stand before their alien, “knew you wouldn’t be too far.” her thumb jutted back behind her, “ran into graham just now. still haven’t found ryan though.” she hoped he was okay.

Castiel tilted his head in confusion, staring the man down as though trying to figure out a complicated puzzle. “I don’t see any bees, or their knees,” he stated. Was he missing something? “I don’t understand. In what way are you a bee’s knee?”

He laughs. “It’s an expression. The bees knees means you’re cool You’ve never heard someone calling someone else the bees knees?” He asks curiously. “Where are you from? I’ve heard a lot of sayings as I’m immortal.”

He was pretty sure Grace once spoke about it, with them cold caps that let cancer patients keep their hair. “You know when you tell people not to worry? Does that ever actually work?”

“They could be. Did you volunteer yourself here? Because I didn’t. I just remember being forced in and then waking up here.” She shakes her head. “It doesn’t but we’re gonna be fine Graham I promise. I’m gonna get to the bottom of this.”

“THE THIRTEENTH DOCTOR— you m e a n…” mouth fell agape with a funny little laugh of pure excitement. “hello doctor, you are a woman— and wow, i am so HAPPY to meet you !!” giving the doctor a hug, still laughing as she did so. pulling away moments later to look the doctor over again, “if my doctor was eleven then there must be a twelve ?? i wonder if t h a t doctor is here as well ??”

THe doctor smiles. “It’s so nice to see you again. I didn’t think I would see you anymore! I’m thrilled to see you Amelia Pond. Yes there’s a twelve. He’s pretty grumpy but I loved being him. We got through some great times together. You would have loved twelfth me.”
