it’s been ages since she’s seen him. longer still, since she’s seen this face. she hesitates slightly, unsure if she should approach. is she nervous? without the biological cues sometimes it’s hard to tell, but she is sure she feels silly for all the overthinking.

clara’s smile grows as the man speaks, and while they’ve never met she already feels a sort of affection for him. affection she’s sure is only partly due to the memory of a much younger looking man and his very stupid chin who also associated himself with jammie dodgers. 

she shakes her head, “no. but i reckon if we put our heads together we could  probably find some. what do you say?” 

she’s been meaning to do some exploring anyway.

PERSONALITY: loyal, impulsive, brave, reckless, kind, overconfident, observant, controlling, charming, guarded, protective, creative, quick on feet, narcissistic. adventurous, independent, proud,  clever, stubborn. 

A DEEPER LOOK;

BACKGROUND: clara comes from blackpool where she led a very average childhood until her mother passed away suddenly. clara’s mum instilled a sense of wonder and adventure in her daughter and a desire to see the world  (or at least the 101 places her mum’s favourite book suggested). and after university, that was totally the plan. but plans change and before she could set out on her first adventure she found herself swooping in to to help a family friend with childcare when then they suffered a loss she knew too well. it’s here she would meet the doctor, her future best friend and partner in crime. together, the would travel space and time but clara would refuse to give up her life completely. after nannying, clara turned to teaching. while things in her human life would change the doctor (despite his changing face) remained her constant.

POWERS/ABILITIES/SKILLS: she has learned some practical skills to protect herself over the years but largely relies on her charm and quick wit to get her through any sticky situations she finds herself in. 

GREATEST STRENGTH: selflessness - while she can certainly get preoccupied with her own stuff, clara’s character arc is pretty much centred around her selfishness - starting with her decision to jump into the doctor’s time stream (thereby sacrificing herself to save the doctor and by extension the universe) to taking rigsy’s chornolock tattoo to ensure he’d make it back to his new family. 

GREATEST WEAKNESS/FLAW: over confidence - clara’s greatest weakness is an assumption that she is always one step ahead. things will work out because she is cleverer than whatever she she is up against. ultimately it was her greatest strength and weakness that lead her to face the raven that fateful day. 

OUTFIT THEY WOKE UP IN: her outfit from face the raven and a leather jacket, essentially this. 

FAVORITE FOOD: clara doesn’t need to eat anymore but she does like to taste every souffle she encounters though she knows she’ll never find one as good as her mum’s. 

ONE FEAR: being truly alone in the universe. 

ONE HOPE: that someday she’ll find her way back to gallifrey to face the raven once and for all. 

ONE HEADCANON: she never quite figured out how to change the chameleon circuit on her tardis, but got really good at serving up 50′s diner style foods which is great because clara had always wanted to learn how to cook! 

THE QUESTIONNAIRE;

How does your character feel about being dropped into the expanse program? Are they excited? Suspicious? Confused? seeing as she signed up for this, clara’s pretty excited to be here. after she and ashildr parted ways clara started to feel very lonely so when the expanse program fell in her lap she jumped at the chance. 

What does your character hope to see the most during the expanse 009’s journey? something awesome. something she hasn’t seen yet. something to give her a reason to keep going. 

If your character could bring one thing from home, what would it be? not to sound like the doctor, but it would definitely be her tardis -- she misses whirring sound. and the chocolate milk shakes.
