Oh shit. He knew that voice or, well, knew the song it carried. A small part of him panicked, about to apologize like hell for hitting a local(?) celebrity, but it didn’t last long. He hadn’t even hit him. Instead of panic, it was cleansed and washed away by a small sort of relief. Levi wasn’t a stranger to Reader, not exactly, and the Inhuman breathed out slowly in relaxation. He heard the squeak of Forey’s ball and inclined his head that way with a happy, lazy smile. Simple things. “No, not unfair. It keeps you from being a part of impromptu…” He searched for the word. Any sort of sport wasn’t popular back in his city, not with him anyway. “…dodgeball games, so there’s that,” he said with a snort. The grass crunched and he acknowledged Levi’s presence at his side with a short dip of his head. “Aiming for you…? Don’t do a whole lot of that these days, I just toss it and hope for the best. Forey handles the rest,.” A laugh shook him and his mouth turned up at the corners. “Besides, I don’t want to get arrested for starting trouble with a national treasure or anything.”
“No problems here,” he continued as he scratching Forey’s chin as the dog rested his head on his knee only to drop the ball in his lap. “None at all. The world has enough right now, so I’m trying to keep this a problem-free zone.” He rolled the ball between his hands before going with the safer option of rolling it along the grass. “Long as I can at least. Here’s hoping, huh?” He shook his head with a dry smile and listened intently to his furry friend that batted the ball about. “This your off day? Or night, I guess. Do you have those?”
“Dodgeball sucks as it is, pretty sure impromptu dodgeball would be a living nightmare. My reflexes are good; but not THAT good, you know?” He grinned brightly, taking the momentary silence to remove his earphones from his neck to instead wrap them around his phone and stuff the device back into the front pockets of his hoodie. “Mmh, okay. But how do I know you haven’t got somethin’ going on? You got a tracker on me, or something? Totally could have planted that on me last time.” Levi stalled, blue eyes wide and brows lifted upwards. “Damn. National treasure, huh? You’re starting to make me think I need to keep you around -- first, you ask for another song after a pretty long one -- most people get sick of me after a while, I’m very... full on. And now you’re calling me a national treasure. I could kiss you.”
The blond hummed in agreement, resting his hands behind his head and slowly allowing himself to fall back, bright gaze fixed upon the sky above them. “True, true. Could definitely do with more people like you given the multitude of problems in the world right now.” He paused for a beat, snickering quietly. “Not even sure I used the word ‘ multitude ’ correctly then but hey, maybe I’ll get some marks for effort.” His head tilted after a moment, following Forey’s movements with a grin. “Nope. Today was a two show day. I can’t feel any of my limbs right now. The last show finished... three hours ago and I was asleep until half an hour ago. -- Hey, I never caught your name last time. I’m assumin’ you have one.”
