Just a little something to get us in the stydia mood
start of time | charles & erik
{ closed para with @klngmagnus }
Charles had been working with one of his pupils. The kid had known the boy from the news, the one who had set himself on fire basically, and the video had shaken the girl. She had been having nightmares and was afraid of even going out to help with the groceries, and Charles had been working with her for the past weeks.
They had been talking when he felt it, which promptly made him stop mid sentence and check if what he had felt was real. A moment later, however, he continued talking until he finished his thought and excused himself. The girl hugged him and thanked him before going to deal with some of the chores. Meanwhile, Charles stood in place for a moment.
Erik was there.
Well, not there in the hide out, but outside, lurking in anxiety, which made Charles tense up. It had been so long since they had seen each other, and Charles wondered how Erik would react by seeing him young and walking again. However, what made him more nervous was the reason behind Erik’s ‘visit’.
Trying to breathe in and out, Charles made his way out of the building they were using as a hide out. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Erik.
Erik was young, looking exactly like he had been when they first met. Charles felt himself blushing and his heart hammering against his chest; the feelings he had once had for the other man awakening faster than he thought it would. He stood there, dumbstruck, just looking at Erik, mind reeling with many different thoughts.
Don’t talk to me or my 200 children ever again.
Charles Xavier, defending the school
Boston Tea Party | Jean & Charles
Jean sat at a table at the Dartmouth Tea House waiting for her other guest to arrive. It’d been awhile since they’d last seen each other, except for emails and phone calls–and of course, their link. But it was different than actually being there.
Taking a sip of her chai latte, she surveyed the street, waiting.
Charles had missed Jean terribly. Being one of his most trusted pupils, he often let her deal with things on her own, such as taking care of a few hide outs and their students while Charles took care of others. Keeping in touch via technology helped when they were too far away, although their telepathic link was still intact, even after the surgery he went through.
They had planned on meeting at the Dartmouth Tea House to talk about their current situation and those of his pupils. However, the choice in place had been due to their refined palate when it came to tea - Charles had always loved his tea and Jean learned from him to appreciate the good ones and now, places such as this were their favourites.
Before even arriving at the tea house, Charles could already feel Jean’s mind. He smiled brightly before sending her a telepathic message. I’m sorry I’m late, I had to deal with some last minute work, but I’ll be there in less than five minutes.
And just like he said it, he arrived in almost five minutes, his eyes falling on Jean’s instantly - not only because of their mental link, but also because of her red hair, drawing his attention as soon as he opened the door. He smiled before walking to her and sitting by her table. “Hello, dear. How have you been?”
unbreakable | charles & kitty
{ closed para with @phasinglikeashadowcat }
Charles kept a mental link with most of his pupils. More often than not, it was easy to ignore it, but it was good to keep track of their emotions and if something happened in their lives that made some of them uneasy or heartbroken, Charles would know and be able to do something about it. It was easier than texting, he liked to say - quicker and more effective anyway.
It was how he went to Kitty’s place. Last time they had seen each other, she had been the usual ball of sunshine she had always been. They had had a great time together, since he had missed her terribly after the school attack. But after that, they had both gone their both ways; Charles checking on other of his pupils and Kitty with her studies. He had felt that Andi was in touch with her, so Charles hadn’t worried too much, trusting the man to take care of one of his favourite students.
However, a few days ago, Charles felt Kitty’s emotions drop. At first she had been anxious and then it seemed like something really bad had happened. Worried sick about her, Charles made sure to go to her as soon as possible. It still took him a few days to arrive, since he had been a few towns over, but he got there.
As he got to the girl’s apartment, he knocked on the door, while sending her a mental nudge that it was him at the door. He waited patiently, even though he was worried about what might have happened.
just a little girl | charles & raven
{ closed para with @mystiqueofaraven }
Without Cerebro, it took Charles longer to find specific people, mainly if they were far from him. For a while now, he had been trying to find Raven. With the new body, memories of a happy past came back to the front of his mind and he couldn’t help but long for the sister he once had. She was changed - but so was he. However, one thing that hadn’t changed in all those years was Charles’ hope in people, especially in the ones he loved, and Raven would always have an important place in his heart.
After some days of focusing, clearing his mind of any other mind around him that might be too loud or have a special link with him, Charles managed to find her. He didn’t read her mind, didn’t try to pry in what she was doing; he just got the place where she was so he could find her.
It was early evening and Raven had been in a café, wearing a body that wasn’t hers. But her mind was still the same, the special link they had built when they were kids was still intact over all those years and Charles knew it was her even with the different face. He got closer to her, trying not to draw to much attention to himself, unsure of her reaction to him.
She was paying attention to some patrons in the café, so he managed to get close enough to announce himself. “Hello, Raven.” His voice was low for just Raven to hear, and he stood by the table she had been sitting quite awkwardly. He hoped she didn’t try to run for him - or worse, ignore him completely.
wielderofchaos:
She looked at his hand, not meaning to raise her own. She had heard stories about New York, about the people being rude, about how you were meant to keep to yourself and hope for the best that everyone else around you did the same. You were coexisting in the same place rather than interacting like a community- or if there was a community it was one of isolation. She noticed the way he carried himself, it reminded her of the small and shrinking old men in Sokovia, the way he spoke similar in his manner. “Pleasure in almost knocking someone over?” She said, her curiosity moving over her sense, he was out of place, like Steve Rodgers, or the angsty man with the long hair and the metal arm, was his name Bigby? she could not remember. He seemed to be moping around their apartment but she kept her distance.
Charles couldn’t help but chuckle at her answer, even though she did not shake his hand. He lowered his and spoke in a friendly way, trying to show her he meant her no harm. “Well, chance meetings happen all the time, in the most random ways. We never know when we’ll meet someone who’ll change our lives.” Charles hoped he wasn’t coming off as creepy, but he tried to share in her mind his honesty, so she could understand that he truly loved meeting new people. And her, there was something on her mind that made Charles want to know her, but he couldn’t quite explain it yet. Which was why he wanted to befriend her. He might be wrong about her, and she might be just an ordinary human; or he might be right and she might be extraordinary.

Lucca pursed his lips, looking away. The last thing he wanted was to have to explain himself for a poorly timed comment; he felt like he was back at the school. He looked at Charles, still puzzled for his change in appearance and then turned back to the bartender. “Hey man, we’re taking a table, gimme another beer and send a load of fries,” he said with a smile. He came to that bar often and didn’t want them to know more than they needed about him.
Besides, it wouldn’t be the first time he took a handsome guy to one of the booths, although he did not want to think about that, knowing that he was talking to his old professor.
Follow me, he said in his head as he picked up his beer bottle and walked to a table on the far end of the bar. I did not mean that, I just have to keep the appearances. We know that this place is full of anti-mutant assholes.
Charles rose an eyebrow to Lucca, but he watched as he ordered beer and fries. Charles asked for whiskey, which was much more his taste, and followed Lucca to the booth, ignoring the thought about Charles being hot now - he still forgot about his different body, and he would’t blame Lucca for thinking that.
You’ve never been too good with your words, Lucca. I’ll believe you, because I know you better than that. However, you never know when a fellow mutant could be and listen to your hateful words. Why not keep quiet like anyone else? Why feel the need to make such a bad input? Charles shook his head and sighed. “How is your life, though? I hope you aren’t making any enemies.” He opened a smile then, trying to show Lucca that his well being was more important. Besides, he could admonish Lucca for saying such a hateful thing and care for the boy.
He was a boy, and that made the whole difference. Charles would always teach his students how to be respectable citizens of society, but he never lost hope for them or stopped caring for them. Lucca had always been difficult, but he was a sweet boy underneath the tough exterior.
@thetelepcth
A quick jaunt across the dangerous streets of New York to make it to the proverbial other side proved to be a bad idea thanks to the overreaction of his spider sense sending pulses of migraine leveled alerts across his body and mind. I know, i know! he thought to himself, aggravated by the notification system he couldn’t exactly shut off, even when he knew the trouble coming his way. Hurrying along to make it to his awaited destination in the park, he slowed down to round the corner where a few of the older gentle-people played chess: the Chess and Checkers House. Smiling at the vision of his inevitable future (if he lived that long considering his full time job as a registered hero) of feeding pigeons and challenging his fellow nursing home roommates, Peter rubbed his hands together eyeing up the few players that were currently occupying a few of the sets. Everyone had a partner except for one man.
“Is this spot open?” he asked the older gentleman, not quite elderly (although he’d be surprised to know his real age and identity), raising his special Avengers pieces he brought with him.
Old habits died hard; mainly when one had nothing else to do except lay low and wait for something to happen. Charles had had may chess sets back at the mansion, but sine he had to flee, his hide outs lacked some entertainment for him. He had bought some new books, but being locked up made him feel restless, so he decided to just go to a park and play chess aimlessly for a couple of hours, mind blank or roaming through people’s superficial thoughts.
Which was why he had not noticed the young lad approaching him. However, he smiled at the boy and nodded. “Be my guest.” Charles said, ready to take the pieces off the chessboard when he finally touched the boy’s mind, eyes zeroing in the pieces he was holding. “Oh.” Charles was unsure if he should say anything. The boy - Peter, his mind prompted him - was a registered super hero, while Charles was a mutant on the run. He was unsure where to stand with the boy for now.
“My name’s Charles.” He said, raising a hand, trying to be friendly. “Since we’re playing, I thought it would be nice to know my rival’s name.” He chuckled, taking all the old pieces off the table and helping Peter put the pieces on the board.
andreasfeldt:
“Hah, well.” It was sometimes a bit overwhelming to talk with the Professor, to see someone so powerful, who had lived through so much, look at him with pride and respect. If Andi were the blushing sort, it would make him blush with how humbling it was. But he wasn’t, so instead he just spared the Professor a smile as he talked, one that dimmed slightly at the mention of the school.
“Those poor children, growing up in this sort of atmosphere.” Just when I was starting to think that mutantkind was growing more accepted by the mainstream… “They benefitted so much from having you at the School. Speaking with you was the first time that I thought I might maybe be able to do some good with my abilities every now and then, rather than just ignoring them.” And ignore them he did—except for moments they were absolutely necessary. Moments he was almost grateful. Somehow he doubted that he could be half as inspiring as Professor Xavier, what with the way he constantly avoided tapping into that part of himself.
“I do love kids, but I doubt I could be very inspiring,” he asked tentatively, thoughtful despite himself. “… They must miss you. They seem to be in capable hands from what I’ve heard.”
Talking about the current state of his school and of his students made Charles unease. It would have been better if Charles hadn’t been hit by the explosion; perhaps he would have been able to protect his own better. At Andi’s words, however, Charles relaxed and smiled. “You shouldn’t be ignoring your abilities, because then when you feel threatened you’ll unconsciously lash it out and you’ll hate yourself for it. Which is why I believe we all need to learn how to control it, so it won’t control us.”
At Andi’s next words, Charles frowned. Are you talking about Emma? I’m not saying she isn’t capable, but... Charles trailed off, unsure of what to say. The situation with Emma was complicated. He understood her point in signing up, but it felt too much like a betrayal for Charles to simply accept it. He honestly believed the students were safe, but the betrayal was something he didn’t know how to deal with. Charles wanted to talk to her, ask for her to explain herself, understand where they stood.
“Most of them ran away with me. The younger ones at least, the ones I feel can’t make a decision on whether to sign it or not. The ones who were faithful to me also followed me.” There was a moment of silence in which Charles tried to contemplate what to say. “I mean, they rescued me. And that’s how I know they are faithful to me. They tried to save me, instead of backstabbing me and leaving me to die.” And that’s my only problem with Emma. I do not wish to speak poorly of her, but the situation is complicated.
You let your people die.
“I did. Over and over again. And it’s something I’ve never really forgiven myself and have to live with every single day for over fifty years.” However, he would still give his best for a better world to mutants all over the world. It was sad and sickening that there was so little understanding and respect in people, but he wouldn’t stop providing for those who needed just because of a few deaths. He still did more good than bad when he brought young mutants to teach how to control their mutations. “If my death would guarantee their lives, I’d gladly exchange it. Otherwise, it’s better if I’m alive. Less people will die.”
Try to break my muse in five words or less.

She looked up as she heard the familiar voice, her jaw dropping as she saw him. She recognised the face from the photos he used to show her, the ones of him with hair, of him looking younger, of him when he was able to walk. She shook her head, the loose strands of hair that escaped her ponytail falling onto her face. “I thought it was just a silly rumour-” She said, standing up and dropping her books before running over and hugging him tightly, practically tackling the man. “YOU HAVE HAIR!” Was the only thing she could really say, playing with it to make sure it wasn’t a wig. Everyone looked at them but she didn’t have a care in the world.
Charles should have expected the girl’s reaction, but he was still taken by surprise when she all but tackled him. He managed to keep them both standing while he laughed happily at her antics. Kitty’s enthusiasm never failed to bring a smile to Charles’ face. “Yes. Apparently, the fact that I now have hair is astonishing.” He laughed before shaking his head and explaining. “I was still bald after getting this body back, but it slowly started to grow. And a lot. I’ve missed it.” Not as much as I’ve missed my legs, though, he added in her mind. “But how are you, darling?” Charles asked, hugging her once more before letting go of her.
ophidlucca:
Lucca almost jumped on his stool, turning around to glare at the man that was about to let everybody know what he was when he tried his best to be discreet. “Hey, they might hear you. And who the fuck are you?” He hissed, since there weren’t many people who knew him that he wouldn’t recognize. But the man was strangely familiar, especially for his tone of voice and the way he admonished Lucca like he was used to it—
“Holy shit.” He breathed out. “Professor?” It seemed impossible, but he had no doubt that he was talking to Charles Xavier, now in a young – and quite hot – body. The one person who could make Lucca embarrassed of his rude comments. “I didn’t mean it that way, I…” He frowned. “We can’t talk here, not like this.”
Charles had to actually blink a few times and remember that he did not look like an eighty year old, bald man on an wheelchair anymore, so Lucca’s shock was perfectly normal. “No? And how did you mean it?” Charles asked, trying not to focus too much on the part where he was younger now and Lucca had no idea what had happened to him. Well, if the boy knew what had happened to him and the mansion, he probably would not make such a selfish comment.
Charles sighed and tapped his temple. “No one’s going to listen to us here, Lucca. But sure, we can go somewhere more private if you wish.” Charles was still standing, waiting on Lucca to decide what to do.

She moved through, her nerves running wild at the feeling of fresh air. They had run out of tea and Steve seemed to be somewhere else, not only mentally but literally. She found the wig she had been given in case of emergency. She dressed up in the most upbeat dress she could find, she made sure it was pink and floraly. She made her way down, trying to find any market that looked like it would sell any kind of Eastern European teas. She hid her hands in a large beige cardigan, trying to monitor her hands to make sure they didn’t glow red, she was so distracted she didn’t realise she was about to run into someone. She looked up and stopped in her tracks. “Sorry-” she tried to say in her best American accent.
Charles had gone on a tea errand that afternoon - after all, they already didn’t have alcohol at the hideouts, but not having tea was horrendous and Charles wouldn’t be able to live like that. He was taking advantage of his younger appearance and the fact that he could walk to handle any errands that needed doing. Since he was a shite driver, he would do everything by foot. Not that he was complaining. The first time he did this, he ended up with his legs aching the following day, but instead of complaining, he felt exhilarated. He could feel his legs, and how nice was that? Probably to those who hadn’t spent the last fifty years without feeling his legs, it wasn’t such a big deal. For him, however, it was.
With his mind elsewhere, he also did not notice the young woman almost colliding with him. He stopped walking right on time as well, his accent even thicker now that he had almost walked into someone. “Oh, I’m the one who should apologize.” He then smiled. “Well, I suppose this happens. It’s New York after all.” He chuckled, ready to continue walking when his mind touched hers lightly. At that, he sobered up and looked at her with confusion. There was something about the girl that Charles didn’t understand, and he refused to just jump into her mind and find any information he wanted. “I’m Charles. It’s a pleasure meeting you.” He held one hand for the girl. He hoped he didn’t come off as creepy, but well. They had literally almost run into each other, which meant they should meet somehow.
