Final product of Makeshift Studios

The wood pattern and all elements were printed using a transfer pen. The inside of the box features the logo, a short description, and instructions via icons.

The box uses perforations to pop out stands that create a lightweight, easy to assemble art easel.

Logo explorations for our brand, Make Shift Studios. We've decided to incorporate the idea of engineer drafting due to the construction that goes into our product.

For our final project, we will be creating a gift box that can be re-used as a pop up easel. Our idea that someone will buy paints, brushes, etc, store them in the box, and then use the prop-up lid to complete the painting set. Our goal is to have the box be resealable so that the easel can be used over and over again.

Final screen printing. The screens were adjusted so that multiple elements could be printed in one pass, making alignment easier. The pattern changed to simple bars to keep on par with the minimalistic aesthetic

Modeling my product after Danish designer Georg Jensen, I bought a sleek stainless steel water pitcher. I immediately knew I wanted the packaging to be minimalistic and play off the angles of the pitcher, so I sketched a box that would slant opposite the top of the pitcher

For the second packaging project, I pulled Denmark as my product country. After researching Danish culture, I decided to focus on the fact that they have a design aesthetic of sleek minimalism. Specifically, I found the Georg Jensen Company that crafts elegant stainless steel products and jewelry. Based upon these findings, I started crafting a company name that would exhibit the elegant product I would package. I researched the Danish words for sleek, silver, and modern.

I featured the words in Futura for the font’s clean geometry.
