Today I went to a sketch meet with Melbourne Urban Sketchers and @natingaart and it was great! Cold but not wet and I love this corner of Little Collins and Elizabeth Sts. I wore my favourite hat which happens to be my Morris hat, and I was actually recognised as a Morris Dancer 😍 and even was sketched in it. (I'll tag the artist when I know his name)

This is why I have ditched Google Search, and I now use Duck Duck Go or Ecosia.

I hate that AI is not a choice anymore.

The small sites are fighting to be seen while AI feeds us possibly incorrect answers, and generally we don't question it. More importantly, we cannot check it's sources.

Multi billion dollar corporations: We make crap AI ads because we rather hang ourselves than pay an extra cent for a quality work.

Midsize art supply manufacturer: We commissioned a watercolor artist to make an illustration for every color of our watercolor palette and make it into an art book with swatches.

Recently I was at Kryal Castle and managed to grab an afternoon sketching. Testing out my newest outdoor setup. It works pretty well. I have used watercolour and a fine tip pen in brown.

Hey. Wanna see one of my favourite photos ever?

Pigeon uses Remembrance day poppies to build a nest on top of Anti-bird spikes in 2019. The absolute amount of symbolism going on here is off the charts.

A pigeon. Both in that it's a dove which means peace, but more importantly that pigeons were essential as messengers during WWI. Most famously Cher Ami.

The spikes resembling violence and hostility.

Using Poppy pins made specifically for Remembrance day and all the symbolism of Poppies and WWI itself.

The fact that it stole the poppies from a tomb of an unknown soldier.

The fact it took them to make a nest to lay eggs and raise its babies in.

The fact that it's on the ledge of a church.

The fact that the window it chose to make the nest against is of a wounded soldier.

You couldn't have STAGED a better photo if you tried.

In recent years I've challenged myself to read all of the 66 novels that Agatha Christie has written.

As of yesterday I only have 12 left.

Recently I have started watching BBC online and the ITV Poirot series are showing. So I'm playing a new game: Which Poirot Mystery is That?

So far, I am correctly guessing most of them 😀

Mid-year last year my gentle giant Wylie was diagnosed with bone cancer in his chin. Unfortunately the cancer was too far gone so I was managing his pain and giving him lots of love until it was time to say good bye. Needless to say this was an incredibly difficult time for me.
