so the point of Kit and Tyâs mission is really getting Dru back from Faerie 𫨠in that case Iâm sure they will end up there too, right?

@cassandraclare
There's something deeply tragic in how CĂŠline recognized Stephen giving up core aspects of his identity for Valentine and sought to pick up those qualities in order to make him feel more connected to her, sacrificing herself for Stephen the same way he sacrificed himself for Valentine. In Stephen there's the obvious tragedy of him giving up the things that he loved (mundane culture and eventually Amatis) in service of Valentine, but it's almost worse that CĂŠline never had anything like that to lose. She shaped herself in Stephen's image in a desperate effort to claim his love, and she never gave up anything to do it because she never knew who she was beyond the battered daughter and the wistful schoolgirl.
âEpilogue, City of Bones (2007) by Cassandra Clare
Has Ash ever had any past love interests?
Nothing serious or even a little bit serious.
Obviously, since he only yearns for Dru!!!đââď¸đ

Kit: Ash? What are you so absorbed in?
Ash: I'm reading a fanfic Dru wrote about you and Ty.
Kit (turning to Dru): YOU did WHAT?!
Ty: What's "fanfic"?
Totally forgot that Manuel has a vial of Ash's blood đđ
oh fuck you're right! I think my brain may have stored away this piece of information to protect me. does he even know whose blood that is? But I do know he's not gonna use it for anything good. I'm so scared now
NONONONONO!!!đąđąđą
Oh great... now I wonder what Manuel (and probably Zara too) will do with this!!!

Frostbite's lovely art of Ty. Hopefully easier to see here.
Some time ago I found something we should talk about:
A tag that left me a little disturbed and thoughtful, because some time ago I expressed these exact concerns in a post (in the comments section)...
I definitely don't want to spread fake news here, because the person who created this tag for this comment could have accidentally used the wrong tag (I mean, it's possible, right?).
So, can someone please tell me that I'm completely wrong about this whole thing (BECAUSE BELIEVE ME, I WANT TO BE WRONG!!!!), cause this is driving me crazy!
Edit:
Someone in the comments suggested it could also have something to do with Clary and Janus 𤢠- which is actually my second guess!!! (PLEASE NO... i suddenly got a strong sense of DÊjà vu!!!!)

will we get to see any of Dru and her journey grieving over Livvy? obviously Livvy will be more involved with Tyâs story, but will we get any insight on Druâs feelings about her? long, long time fan of your books! so excited for tlkof :)
Yes â Dru, unlike the rest of her family, knows Livvy is a ghost. Everyone else has moved on â not like they don't still grieve, but they've accepted. Ty and Dru are stuck in this similar place of not having moved through any stages of grief as we would know them.
Dru still misses Livvy, and she is both glad and very sad to see her as a ghost. Her feelings don't mirror Ty's but they complement them â is it better to have Livvy this way than not at all, and what if it isn't what Livvy wants? What then? And what if what Ty and Dru want for Livvy isn't the same thing?
....I'M GOING TO CRY IN A CORNER...SOOO SO PLEASE IGNORE ME!!!!đđđ
Hi, Cassandra! I hope youâre doing well. In *The Last Prince of Hell*, will there be flashbacks showing what Dru, Ty, and Kitâs lives were like during the period between *Queen of Air and Darkness* and *The Wicked Powers*? Or perhaps scenes from *The Dark Artifices* revisited from a different perspectiveâsuch as events we saw through Kitâs eyes now being told from Tyâs point of view, or moments Dru witnessed that readers never got to see?
Dru's story does include sort-of flashbacks because there are things that happened to her that she herself doesn't remember. As she recovers those memories, the reader learns them alongside her, so those scenes are part of the present story rather than looking backward. They are key things we don't yet know.
Ty and Kit are a little different. Between Queen of Air and Darkness and The Wicked Powers, they were not having life-changing adventures (the most exciting things that probably happened to Kit are in Secrets of Blackthorn Hall). They were growing up, and changing emotionallyâbut they weren't secretly having another trilogy's worth of stories off-page. They were both in a sort of suspended life between TDA and TWP in which they were not learning big new information, not yet dealing with the consequences of any of their choices, and not experiencing great losses or gains that we don't already know about. Kit being the Heir doesn't mean much during those skipped years, nor does Ty having raised Livvy mean much during those skipped years (as nothing about that changes until TWP) and those are the backbones of their personal arcs. And where they experienced personal growth, they were both in some sense stuck in time while they didn't deal with their issues or feelings regarding each other. In some ways, that is a big part of their story.
That doesn't mean those years are ignored. Kit thinks back on things he learned from Jem, Tessa, and Mina. Ty reflects on his time at the Scholomance, on what he learned there, and sometimes on opportunities he feels he missed with his family. Those experiences absolutely shape who they are. But they usually come up the way our own memories do: because something happening now reminds us of them. They're woven into the present rather than presented as flashbacks.
DRU : " things that happened to her that she herself doesn't remember. " đ¤Żđđ
ty and kit: "....And where they experienced personal growth, they were both in some sense stuck in time while they didn't deal with their issues or feelings regarding each other. In some ways, that is a big part of their story."
PLEASE, TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!!!!đĽşđŠ
hi cassie! iâm so excited and thankful for his universe! what is one good quality and one negative quality that ash has inherited from his parents? even janus (step parent vibes)?
That's an interesting question because Ash's "parents" aren't exactly people you'd look to as role models.
What I think Ash inherits from them isn't negative or positive traits so much as qualities that are morally neutral. Those qualities can become virtues or vices depending on the choices he makes and the reasons he makes them.
Sebastian, for instance, is/was extraordinarily determined. He achieved some truly lunatic goals. Determination is an admirable quality in the abstract; it's what lets people persevere through impossible circumstances. But determination without empathy becomes selfish ambition, and that can lead to terrible things. Ash has inherited that determination â but we don't yet know where he'll take it.
The Seelie Queen is incredibly intelligent and politically perceptive. She understands power, people's desires, and how to influence them. None of those qualities are inherently evil; in fact, they're often the mark of a gifted leader. But she uses them primarily to control and manipulate others and she does not limit her cruelty. Ash has inherited her instinct for reading people and her strategic way of thinking. The question for him is whether he uses these insights to manipulate people or to understand them.
Janus probably had the greatest influence on the person Ash became. At one point, Janus genuinely cared for him and protected him in the ways he knew how, but Janus also believes that the ends justify almost any means. He wants Clary and he doesn't much care if she wants him back, or what he has to do in order to have her. He is also willing to use Ash in any way to get what he wants. Janus may have taught Ash some things about love, but all Janus' love is twisted up and eventually destructive. Ash needs to understand that love is an important good, but love isn't not caring about the other person's free will and agency.
Determination can become relentless fanaticism. Political intelligence can become manipulation. Love can become possessiveness. An interesting thing about Ash is that he's got nature, nurture, and magic all tangled up together as influences on him.
ASH MY POOR BOY!!! đđđ
