Social Q&A improved
We really have been busy at HQ recently. Families haven't seen us much, burning the midnight oil turns you into something of a night owl and by the volume of coffee consumed alone, I think we have been keeping Nespresso in operation recently - great ideas sometimes have a funny time of presenting themselves!
But boy, do we have some cracking new features to update you on - features we are very excited about.
Our Social Q&A platform has performed extremely well since its launch. So why change it? Well the truth is we haven't changed it, we have just tweaked it to make it better.
(i) Updates Tab:
Moderators can now post vital and important updates to our platform, for example: course deadline, price discounts, new offer etc. This option provides the moderator with the ability to keep prospective students & interested parties updated on key information relating (not only) to the specific course but they also have the option to add info on a college/business wide basis. You simply choose which option you prefer and it's done. Course followers will receive an email notification after you publish an update.
Users can also add updates that they feel are relevant. User updates however are moderated and will only appear if approved by the moderator.
(ii) Review Tab :
Attended the course? Passed with flying colours? So impressed with the lecturer and college you want to share it with the world? - Well now you can directly from our platform. The Review tab makes it incredibly easy to share your thoughts so other can benefit from your experience. As with the Updates Tab, reviews and testimonials must be approved by the moderator prior to appearing to the general public. This ensures only relevant approved content will appear.
This option also allows the moderator to add testimonials which they have built up over time - these could be sitting in a word doc that hasn't seen the light of day in ages and now they can be set free for others to benefit from.
(iii) YouTube videos & Pictures/Images now supported:
Moderators and Users can now add YouTube videos and/or Pictures & Images to our platform. These are beautiful new features than will provide a visual aspect to the platform. For example, the class of 2012 might have had their graduation ceremony last Friday night - now any pictures and video can be uploaded for others to view. As with the Update & Review tab, user uploads must be approved by the moderator prior to public consumption.
(iv) Public Question / Private Reply:
Sometimes questions asked publicly may warrant a private response. Maybe, the user thought the question was being asked privately or perhaps the user is looking for a quote which would require case sensitive information to be included.
Now the moderator has the option to reply privately to a publicly asked question by signing in (on any Q&A enabled page) and proceed to the "moderate" tab in the admin section. There will you see an option to choose "reply privately".
(v) User Contact Detail:
Again, while you are signed in to your admin panel, under the "moderate" tab, you will now see "Download to Excel" option. With one click on a button, the contact details of the user will populate an excel spreadsheet for you to use as you see fit. Very handy tool for marketing purposes.
(vi) Question Search:
Moderators can now search for questions asked while you are signed into your admin panel. Under the moderator tab, there are many filters to make life easier (ex. All/Unanswered/Approved etc) and sitting just above theses filters, you will now see a search bar - like this:
