modular (individual, whether alter or singlet)
an individual who has different "versions" of oneself, but each version (mode) is almost an entirely new identity. similar to multiself, however, when a mode switches with another mode, the two may seem like entirely different individuals (behavior, appearance, identity, etc) while still being the same person/being.
ex: i am gorehound. i have different modes. for a little while, zayne was the mode who was "fronting."
modality (modal system/system that functions in a way that could be called modal/etc)
beings who are not a singlet who functions in a way that is akin to modular. an individual who is modular may also consider oneself plural/multiple/a system, or can opt for a new term; modal (modal can also be used in place of modular). the rules on this term are extremely loose. i do not care how its used in terms of self identification so long as you are not changing the definition.
non-singlets (plurals/multiples/systems/modals) who are modal may be a group of alters with one who is modal. or, several alters who are modal. maybe all are modal. or, maybe, the non-singlet is one "primary" alter with modes who switch frequently, and consider themselves plural as a result.
experiences are not limited to the ones listed above. if you feel it fits, use it.
i hate making flags so much but i locked in for this.
@psychopurr @radiomogai (tagging for reach and for archival)
idk who else to tag, ive been so uninterested in coining for too long
i consent to this term being added to external archives so long as i am properly credited and the definition is not altered in any form or fashion.
anyone can use this term, i do not gatekeep. keep in mind i am pro endogenic and nondisordered plurality.
