And it kills me.

Once again a false narrative is being constructed about a driver and by the time the truth comes out it’s always too little and always too late.

Charles is dangerous, Charles is reckless, Charles the villain knowingly and deliberately put the safety of others at risk while his poor noble team tried desperately to call him in.

That’s all people will remember and that’s all people will carry in their minds and in their hearts about him.

And it doesn’t matter in the slightest that none of it is true. That it’s the team that told him to stay out. That it’s the team that decided the car was safe. That the team misled Race Control about their intentions to bring him in.

The lie gets tattooed in minutes and then the truth has to work days and months and years to try to remove it, and even then the shadow of that tattoo still remains.

Just like anyone who came into F1 through the Netflix doc only sees Max as the bad guy. Who can ever say how long it might take to undo that damage.
