one thing i've not really seen anyone talk about is the fact that all the callback characters shown so far are each tied to different factions from three houses.

and like yeah there could be more to it. and yeah they could all be relevant descendants/ ancestors. but i think it's just as likely they're caeldori-type units based on some of the more popular characters because, well, popular.

with eshmel and the timeskip revealed as the foundation of the story, it seems more than likely to me that these four are the keys to all of the actual secrets in the game. they might potentially even play a role in the changing of the heroes' fates.

we know 3 of them are central figures in the heroic games. with anatolia confirmed as a game over condition, i wouldn't be surprised if orchel and the white-maned demon are the same way. the latter is obviously most important to leda's story, but they're clearly hinting there's much more to him and i wouldn't be surprised to see cai or theodora ally with him during the games.

eshmel so far looks like they're distant, supportive, and customizable, which makes me somewhat optimistic. even if they aren't as likable as shez and alear i have good hopes they will not be as bad as the old avatars

and they have actual interests! they like flowers and board games. compare to byleth who liked "helping and listening to people"

also i am so so happy to see fire emblem dive this much into high fantasy. i love knights and grit and political tension as much as the next guy but after 18 entries i'd say we were due for proper balls to the walls high fantasy in a game and fortune's weave looks like it's diving right in

I really do hope the “four stories” part of Fortune’s Weave is more along the lines of “different perspectives of the same event leading to the same ending” and not “four very different stories” again.

I’m hoping that since it seems like there’s no avatar character it’ll be closer to the former.
