āHeath was the most alive human and if it wasn't on the edge, it didn't interest him . If there wasn't some type of risk involved, he had no time for it.ā
happy 42nd birthday Heath Ledger
(April 4th 1979 - January 22nd 2008)
To them youāre just a freak, like me. They need you right now, but when they donāt , theyāll cast you out - like a leper. See, their morals, their ācodeāā¦itās a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. Theyāre only as good as the world allows them to be. Iāll show you, when the chips are down, theseĀ ācivilised peopleā? Theyāll eat each other. See, Iām not a monster. Iām just ahead of the curve.
the joker, as portrayed in christopher nolan's 2008 uh masterpiece "the dark knight", isn't an inherently super-masculine character. in fact, the joker has always been a highly fashionable, lipstick-wearing, green-haired, hyperactive, camp clown with an ironically homoerotic batman fixation. the dark knight changed none of that. heath ledger is just kinda tall.
