When I was in sixth grade, I had a habit of skipping ahead in books to read some of what was coming up. Sometimes the ending, yes, but sometimes just random bits and pieces that were ahead of me.

I also had a terrible time with social situations, but a knack for schoolwork and art.

The analogy I came up with for myself then was that, somewhere, in the place where we are before we’re born, we’re given instruction manuals for interacting with the world around us. We’re all given the same book, but everyone gets to different places in it depending on their “reading speed”.

While my peers were busy reading the book in proper order, I skipped over the “how to interact with others” part and read ahead to “how to do well at math” and didn’t get a chance to go back and read what I’d missed before it was time to start my life. Therefore, while I may have gotten an edge on my classmates in knowing how math works, they had an edge on me in knowing how people work.

At this point in my life, I’m not sure who got the better end of the deal, or if there even was a better end of the deal to get.

I know it's a bit late this year to probably get anything made in time, but I was wondering if you could make a simple trans flag or the two candles pin that says something like "Remember" or "Remember those lost" on it for the trans day of remembrance? Something simple we can wear as a public reminder next year on that day basically. I've looked around online and no one makes anything like that. I can find trans flag pins, but nothing specifically for remembrance day. thank you!

The thing that’s funny and relatable about Luigi isn’t that he’s a coward, it’s that he’s a coward with no sense of scale. He reacts to literally everything with exactly the same level of oh-gee-I-dunno apprehension, whether it’s hearing a noise in a dark house at night, or coming face to face with a world-devouring horror. This is more or less the root of his self-esteem problems; he’s the universe’s second-greatest warrior and doesn’t realise it because as far as he’s concerned, being scared of a spider in the bathroom and being scared of Cthulhu are the same thing – he just totally lacks the necessary context to appreciate that managing to grit your teeth and deal with the second one is any sort of achievement. It’s all spiders in the bathroom to him. He’s equally terrified of everything, and that makes him invincible.
