“Yes. I am B-4.” He responded to the question fairly quickly, but there was a long pause before he spoke up again. He needed time to process all of this new information. He did not know who the Quarians were, and his thoughts remained stalled on the question of how to address the collective of programs– organic individuals called them Legion, but B-4 was not organic.
Eventually, he abandoned the issue. It was taking up too much processing space, and there were other questions he was more interested in asking.
“Why do you not look like me?” Legion was synthetic, they spoke, and they had a physical body. They were similar to B-4 and his brother in significant ways, and yet they were not a copy of B-4, as Data was. It did not make sense.
the geth fell quiet, caught off guard by the question - having to re-evaluate the other synthetic’s point of view for a moment. the geth, themselves, behaved quite similarly to one another - even the heretics and those that held differing or unpopular opinions - and aside from model differences, there was rarely anything to differentiate them in appearance. perhaps, with that in mind, that was what so confused b-4. had he never encountered another AI that held a different platform model than himself?
“we were not made by your creator, who most likely made you to resemble them. the geth were made by an alien species, and this body was made by those geth. we do not look the same because we were not made by the same people.” legion explained patiently, lifting their arm to activate their ‘omnitool’. “...would you like to view an image of a creator of the geth, b-4?” legion questioned, their optic studying the other’s face for potential reactions.
“was your creator human?” human or very humanoid, it was difficult to tell.
