A year ago I was fragile.
A year ago I was numb.
A year ago I was so frail and vulnerable and without love that I felt there was no end to the nightmare my life had become.
A year ago I laid crawled up in my bed. Crying. Sobbing. Bawling.
A year ago I had let myself go so far down that I hardly recognized myself.
A year ago I let people constantly abuse my body as I had done the same.
A year ago I hated myself so much that I began seeking the approval of other people rather than the self-love I deserved.
A year ago I was lost. Sad. Upset. Angry. Broken.
A year later I’m stronger.
A year later I’m happier.
A year later I found love within myself, while also finding someone to share myself with.
A year later I wake up ready to start the day. Ready to face the world.
A year later I smile a lot more. I laugh a lot more. I sing a lot more.
A year later I found a reason to smile more. To laugh more. To sing more.
A year later I explored. I conquered.
A year later I am filled with love and affection. And support. Tons of it.
A year later I have become a better version of myself. A better version of me that I plan to tell my kids one day.
A year later I cry happy tears because I’ve come so far. I’m no longer lost. I’m no longer sad. I’m no longer upset. I’m no longer angry. And I’m no longer broken.
Things You Forgot You Used To Do
I mean I certainly remember getting yelled at for not going back to turn off the computer once it was finally done shutting down.
Why you gotta hurt me like this
