What’s your name, how old are you, and where are you from?
My name is Luna, and I'm a 17 year old artist. I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba.
What got you interested in makeup?
When I was little i loved to draw and color. I would spend hours on the living room floor just making paintings. I know now that's where my passion for makeup started. When i started watching makeup tutorials on YouTube i decided to put what i was doing on paper on my face and make art.
Where do you find inspiration for your looks?
Inspiration for my looks come from any and many places, whether it's someone else's makeup or a movie or even a song. I love looking through instagram and getting inspo from discovering new artists and scrolling through my home page. Sometimes inspiration could come to me not as something I can see but rather something I feel, like wanting to incorporate a certain color scheme or play with textures or just getting inspired by geometric shapes.
How did you grow such a quick following on social media?
I grew my following on instagram from hard work, consistency and interacting with my followers. From the moment I started my Instagram I always had a focal point. I wanted to post makeup and solely that. You know sculpture artists and painters and such can make their art and that peace of work can be hung in a museum or exhibited in a gallery. That's how i think of my instagram it's my gallery and that's where I hang my art. If you have a view and stick to that, you're consistent and you always post the best work you can and are always trying to better yourself then you will see your account grow so fast.
Being a beauty blogger, what do you think the biggest misconception is about social media?
I think then biggest misconception about social media is that people who aren't a part of the industry think it isn't a job or that it's very easy and anyone can do it. I can't put into words how hard I work to make my content the best it can be with what I have to work with. I spend about 4-6 hours with all my makeup looks, then I have to set up my lights and my camera and take my pictures. After that I transfer about 100-150 to my computer and spend about another hour editing. I then send it to my phone and post from there. And that's just the time i spend on the technical part of things. I have to worry about answering emails on time and contracts and pr email. Making sure I'm interacting with my followers while I'm thinking of an idea for an upcoming look etc. So in very simple words when you look at a photo on Instagram and you go "WOW" and gasp... it's because hours and hours of sweat and hard work were put into that shot.
What are your beauty goals?
My beauty goals are to make people as intimidated and confused about my makeup as humanly possible. One of my favorite comments to receive is when people say "Who in their right mind would ever wear this look out?" and I'm like YASSSSSSS that's exactly the reaction i want when someone sees my makeup. I love editorial avant garde looks and I have no interest in looking like a clone of someone else. I take pride in my unique beauty and looking like a completely different persona every single time I pick up a brush.
Any advice for upcoming bloggers?
My advice for upcoming bloggers is to not give any advice. I know that sounds so strange but, when I started out I tried watching so many videos and asking so many other artists what i could do to improve and I tried everything. When nothing worked I decided I was going to go with my gut and just be myself. Everyone had given me such different advice because no one's journey is going to be the same. So I would say just be yourself and trust yourself.
Which beauty icon is your biggest inspiration?
My beauty icon is Lady Gaga. That woman never wears the same makeup twice and is always experimenting and I love her for that.
Favorite beauty trend?
I don't have a current favorite beauty trend. I'm not one to follow them.
Least favorite beauty trend?
My least favorite beauty trend is clown contouring and contouring with household items. Unnecessary.
What is your first makeup memory?
My first makeup memory is filling in my eyebrows with dark navy eyeliner haha.
One beauty product you can’t live without?
One beauty product I can't live without would definitely be my brow pomade.
Favorite makeup artist & why?
My favorite makeup artists are Pat McGrath and Mathu Andersen. Both legendary and always pushing boundaries.

How do you define beauty?
Beauty in my opinion is a unison of confidence in how you look externally and having that match internally.
