âGenerally yeah. A party, alcohol, youâre meant to kiss someone at midnight.â
âSounds like my kind of night out!â She grinned. âIs the school hosting one? Or do people just throw their own?â

âGenerally yeah. A party, alcohol, youâre meant to kiss someone at midnight.â
âSounds like my kind of night out!â She grinned. âIs the school hosting one? Or do people just throw their own?â
ingridhelasdottir:
âApparently it entails a massive party, but who really knows,â Ingrid grinned, a party was a party.
âWell, if itâs a party then count me in!â She was never one to say no to parties, however big or small they were. âI suppose I should find something to wear. Fancy seeing what the shops around here have to offer?â
âSo, this âNew Yearâ thing everyoneâs talking about,â Lena started, a hopeful smile tugging at her lips. âDoes it involve a party?â
astridthordottir:
âWho knows exactly.â She admitted with a smile, looking up at her niece happily. âIt is something to adjust to, but if you want to stay then Iâm sure youâll adjust as quickly as Magni did.â
âWell I hope so,â she laughed lightly. âIt would be nice to get to know everyone.â Sheâd grown up hearing of her grandfather, but the chance to get to know him herself was an opportunity she didnât want to pass up. And there was the rest of the family, as well.
ingridhelasdottir:
âI guess after a while of it just being the two of us against everyone else, the first thing I wanted to do was experience things by myself for at least a few hours.â
âI suppose thatâs fair enough. I guess I was just keen to meet everyone, and I couldnât exactly do that without letting my father know that I was here.â
ingridhelasdottir:
âGood for you. I still havenât been to my motherâs yet.â
âReally? How comes? My fatherâs is the first place I went to when I got here.â
astridthordottir:
âI like it here personally, but Iâve spent more time here than on Asgard.â She explained with a shrug, glancing around the school. âTo a lot of kids this is our home, itâs the safest place to be. Or is now.â She added before the girl shrugged and started to walk. âWhat do you think of the food? Magni quite enjoys it.â
âI think it will be a while before I call this home,â she admitted. âBut who knows.â With so much family around, perhaps it could one day be more of a home than Jotunheim. A shrug of her own followed Astridâs words as they stated walking. âItâs alright. Again, different, but not in a bad way.âÂ
ingridhelasdottir:
âSmall, that will probably take some adjusting.â
âTell me about it. At least I managed to claim the biggest bedroom at my fatherâs place.â
ingridhelasdottir:
âOh certainly,â Ingrid smirked playfully, âSo whatâs the school like?â
âNo idea,â she shrugged. âLike I said, Iâve only just got here. The dorms arenât bad, though. Small, but rather quaint.â
ingridhelasdottir:
âWouldnât know,â Ingrid shrugged, âIâve been in Hel since like⊠ever. Hopefully there is more of a market here.â
âWell, given how most of the family seems paired off I think that seems likely,â she grinned. âWeâll just have to find out for ourselves, though, wonât we?â
ingridhelasdottir:
âThatâs true I suppose. If weâre going to be stuck here then why not have a little fun,â she smirked ever so slightly, âItâs not the worst idea in the world.â
âExactly,â she grinned. âIâm sure the people here are nothing compared to those back on Jotunheim, but we wonât know unless we look, will we?â
astridthordottir:
âBecause theyâre mortal. The fact that Dad, Tyr, and myself are all dating mortals just makes her upset because she knows weâll live to see them pass.â She shrugged innocently, knowing it was something that was bound to happen, but it was in the future, not now. âAnyway, moving on from sad things, what do you enjoy most about this place so far? Other than your annoying Aunt who happens to be something like half a century younger than you, obviously.â
âI suppose that makes sense,â she nodded, lips twisting thoughtfully for a moment before she gave a shrug of her own as Astrid changed the subject. She wouldnât linger on the topic if her aunt didnât want to. âHonestly, at the moment the best thing is the fact that the family is here,â she smiled, chuckling quietly at the reminder of how much younger than her Astrid was. âItâs strange to finally be meeting everyone, but a good strange. Other than that Iâm just liking how different things are. Iâve always loved trying new things, and a new realm is about as different as it can get.â
astridthordottir:
âI mean, itâs not as beautiful as where weâre from. Or, at least I donât think itâs as beautiful as Asgard but it is nice. The people are mostly kind.â Mostly. But apparently, most people overlooked that as Astrid was starting to find out. âDonât be like my sister though, she refuses to befriend the humans which is tragic, they make time here quite enjoyable.â
âIâd love to see Asgard one day,â she smiled. âIâve heard a lot about it, especially since arriving here, but Iâve yet to visit.â It had always been somewhere sheâd wanted to see, yet the desire was stronger since meeting the rest of her family; the family that had grown up there, and not on Jotunheim as she had. âI have to admit Iâm intrigued to get to know the people here. Given how your dad has settled down here I assumed there had to be something good about the people. Why doesnât Aelin want to make friends with them?â
astridthordottir:
âWell, Dad and Pops are probably working. I never know where Aelin and Tyr are and I imagine that Magni is currently walking Chicken.â She shrugged with a smile. âHow are you finding Midgard anyway?â
She nodded slowly, trying to commit the word âdadâ to memory - it seemed that was a far more common term than âfatherâ around Midgard, and if she was to stick around as she planned, then she supposed it would be sensible to adjust to such things. âI think my father, I mean my dad,â she corrected, trying out the word, âdid say he was planning to walk Chicken when I told him I was heading out.â At the question, she gave a shrug, but a smile remained on her lips. âItâs alright. Iâm still trying to find my way around, and figure out what to do for fun, but I think I could grow to like it here.â
astridthordottir:
âNot yet, I think heâs working, you were the first person I saw that Iâm related to.â
âOh, I suppose that makes sense,â Lena nodded. She was still trying to work out where everyone was at various times of the day, or at least when they were free and when they werenât. âAnd Iâm honoured,â she added with a grin, a light laugh in her throat. âIs anyone else around, or have they all got things on?â
astridthordottir:
âEnglish, which is why itâs so good because I canât read and write properly.â She grinned, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet.
As Astrid spoke, it made sense why she was so excited about the grade, and Lenaâs smile became more enthusiastic. âThen thatâs more than just great,â she amended. âThatâs fantastic. Have you shown your father yet?â
ingridhelasdottir:
âOh look at you, so optimistic, itâs adorable.â Ingrid rolled her eyes, âWhyâs that, looking for your own little outlier?â
âWhat can I say, it runs in the family,â she shrugged, giving a light laugh. Then she paused, brow knotting and lips twisting thoughtfully as a teasing glint entered her eye. âWell, my side, anyway. And not particularly, though I wouldnât mind seeing whatâs around. Iâm here anyway so I may as well make the most of it, right?â
