rebelliouscreativity:
Jamie bowed his head slightly as his audience clapped and he mad his way off of the small stage with his guitar. He’d just finished up his set at a local open mic, allowing himself to let loose a little in the middle of work for college. He could have been out at a party or hanging with his friends but he’d chosen to head into the city and try to be part of the amazing creative community that New Orleans had. The bar was pretty packed and the reception to his performance had been amazing so as he made his way to the bar he had a grin on his face. Sitting down on one of the stools he zipped his guitar away and handed it over to the bartender who had promised to keep it safe until he was ready to collect.
“Can I get a water too?” He asked getting a strange look in return. “You sure you don’t want something stronger?” They asked and he shook his head. “Not right now. Just got off stage so my mouth is dry.” He reasoned and the bartender shrugged before walking away with the guitar and putting it away. Once they came back they set a plastic cup of water in front of him and a mouthed a thank you as he picked it up. Turning to step away from the bar he almost spilled the water as he knocked into someone. “Sorry. I didn’t realise someone was standing so close.” @nola-starters
Lennon went out most nights. New Orleans was crawling with people, and she was looking for someone new. Seeing the boy playing his guitar on stage she knew he was the one. Young guy, talented, cute.. he was going to be quite the meal. Watching him closely she saw him get off the stage and walk to the bar alone. ‘Nobody is waiting on you?’ She thought to herself.
Making a bee-line to the bar behind him she held her drink loosely in her hand. She had gotten things down to a science. Turning her back, she started an idle conversation with someone near her. She listened and waited, slowly stepping back closer to him. Feeling the bump, she let the glass in her hand slide through her fingers and hit the ground. “Oh my god!” She said looking down at the ground then turning to look at him. The drink had splashed upwards around her shins. “Shoot.. I’m so clumsy. It’s no worry.. uh.. could you grab me some napkins?” She asked before stopping suddenly. “Wait.. weren’t you just the guy playing?”
marcus-darring:
Marcus stopped, looking down at where her hand had caught his arm before he looked up at her. Her hand had touched the sleeve of his jacket but it still made him tense. There was a certain lilt to her voice that made him tilt his head. Suggestion but not just any suggestion, pheromone laden suggestion. One that other species might have been susceptible to. Marcus pulled his arm away and looked at who was nearby. “That won’t work on me and I suggest you pay your tip yourself rather than persuading a stranger to do it for you.” Cubi were suppose to be rare and here he was bumping into more and more. At this rate he was going to need to form a council just to keep tabs on them. This one at least seemed quite young. More than a decade younger than himself at least. “You should pick your prey better.”
Her brows furrowed as soon as he spoke. Of course she grabbed him of all people. Pulling her arm back she glared at him. “Jesus.” She hissed angrily. “You don’t have to be so fucking rude about it!” When he suggested she pay the tip herself she sighed. “Must be nice not being a broke college student!” She grabbed her bag and stood up, fumbling slightly with her book. “You should back up before I scream in your face.” She was ready to leave with or without tipping her waiter. Fortunately, she knew he would always welcome her back with open arms. “Besides.. what is the point in having talents if you aren’t going to use them?”
Lennon was excited it was Tuesday. Tuesdays and Thursdays meant she had an extra-long gap between classes during lunch hour. Today she had grabbed her backpack and jogged off of campus to her favorite little Greek restaurant. Sitting down, she was no stranger to leering eyes and passing comments. Today, however, she really didn’t feel like being bothered. She had picked up a new book and had gotten halfway through it deep into the night previously. It didn’t take her long to get sucked back in. She had already paid her waiter and luckily he didn’t seem to mind that she was taking up an entire booth to herself. Seeing someone walk by she reached out. “Excuse me, do you have a few spare dollars? I already paid and my waiter took the little tip slip thingy before I could tip him.” She flashed big eyes at the person she managed to flag down. @nola-starters
