Okay everyone, my friend Miles @verybbonely is having a rough time at the moment, in terms of money and other things.

I myself cannot donate money, but I can help in a different way

I’m all for makeup and people doing makeup however they choose and makeup as an art form, but i’m also really concerned for the young girls in middle school and stuff with the new found pressure of makeup culture that wasn’t there five years ago. If you’re 12 or 13 and you’re reading this please please know you don’t have to contour to be beautiful, you don’t have to have amazing gradient eyebrows to be beautiful, you don’t have to be an Instagram model to be beautiful.

Makeup can be fun but you don’t have to look like all the rich girls on instagram with tons of money for mac and urban decay to be pretty or feel good about yourself. Just being you, and exploring your interests and learning new things as a young person is what makes you beautiful!! Never forget it!

Just want to add: sometimes it’s not even just a preference (although that reason should be respected too). Sometimes the person has a family history of alcoholism and doesn’t want to become addicted, or they’re a recovering acloholic.

Please keep in mind alcohol is a drug, and one not everyone wants to use.

DR. HARLEEN QUINZEL DOES NOT HAVE SCHIZOPHRENIA, AFFECTIVE PSYCHOSIS, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD CAUSE HER TO HEAR VOICES.

SHE HAS SEVERE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME AS A RESULT OF BEING IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP. THIS STOCKHOLM SYNDROME CAUSES HER TO WILLINGLY TAKE ON THE PERSONA OF HARLEY QUINN IN AN ATTEMPT TO PLEASE THE JOKER. (You could argue that there are some versions where this persona is shown as more of a Dissociative Identity Disorder, which does have the symptom of hearing voices, but most versions show that she is still in control and willingly chooses to act like Harley.) Her story is tragic, one of the most tragic out of all of the Batman characters, but she doesn’t hear voices. I repeat: She. Doesn’t. Hear. Voices.

Don’t get me wrong - this melodramatic anger isn’t directed at the OP. I’m sure that they meant well when they made this gifset.

The anger is towards the group of fake Batman fans who ended up being in charge of this trainwreck and decided that they know how to make mental illnesses look fun and quirky and they’re completely and utterly failing and in doing so, they’re taking away everything that made Batman so great. And everything that made Dr. Harleen Quinzel so great.

I know what you’re all thinking - “Who cares if she’s hearing voices in this one? So the directors/producers/writers/etc. decided to take a bit of artistic liberty? Who cares?”

Well, I do, obviously.

And you should too.

Because you can’t just substitute mental illnesses. You can’t. Especially when Dr. Herleen Quinzel is such a great representation of Stockholm Syndrome and of victims of abusive relationships. You can’t throw all of that away and say, “She hears voices now, lol, we’re so edgy.”

That would be like if a character was a wheelchair-user and the director/producer/writer was like, “Yeah, but a disability is a disability so let’s make that character blind in our movie because who cares what the disability actually is, so long as we’re edgy.”

It doesn’t work and it’s extremely offensive to the characters that you’re pretending to represent and the real fans that you’’re pretending to know.

I REALLY hate to do this… My pride is taking a huge hit here But really I have no choice it’s almost a matter of life and death I’m pretty sure ending up homeless with 2 dogs, a cat, and 3 rats would most likely end in a death or 2… But anyway as many of you know my life is a complete shit storm right now Back in September I uprooted my whole life emptied my bank account, put myself in debt to move in with my friends here in Texas Well my friend’s mom has been in bad health for awhile now but she has recently taking a turn for the worse In order to be with her my friend is now moving out of state back home to her Leaving me with no where to live I barely make 7 dollars an hour I can barely afford my bills and to feed myself and my animals as it is there’s no way I can afford a new place or even find someone to room with I have no choice but to make the 2 day drive back to my mom’s house in Virginia Currently the jeep needs a lot of work to even make that trip plus the trailer I’ll need to rent and the gas it’s gonna take I have no idea how I’m going to be able to afford this I’m going to put away every penny I can but after bills and keeping my animals fed it’s not very much… I hate asking guys but really anything will help right now I have 2 months to raise this money or I’m going to be homeless I really don’t want to do this I really hate everything about this But I’m out of options I really need some help here guys…
