What's the worst thing you've done out of avarice or selfishness?
“I’ve turned my back on people solely for the reason that they do not interest me. I’ve been labeled arrogant before and I wouldn’t blame them.”
Burdens of our past
“When man makes a mistake that truly cannot be forgiven, what repercussions are they entitled to? Are the sins of our father truly our burdens to uphold? Is it our duty to rectify the mistakes of the past, or do we simply ignore them to carve our own path?
That is to say, if we choose the latter, do our children, and our children’s children have the same luxury that we do? Will our choices affect their future, or will they have the freedom to live their own lives? With every step we take, every decision that we make, every conclusion that we come to, we leave our mark. Whether that effect lasts for mere moments, or generations to come, is entirely up to the choices that we make and how well that we have decided to think things through.
What may seem convenient today may burden you and your descendants for years to come. Whether or not you believe that it is your responsibility to write the wrongs of somebody else is entirely up to us, that is our choice. Choices are powerful. If you have the power to change the past for a better future, ask yourself if you have the courage to do so.
We all should have that power, it’s up to you to decide when to use it.”

Colonel was seething. He was angry. If he had the chance and the lack of self discipline, Colonel would have probably slammed his fist into a wall. However, all Colonels face showed was was his usual blank expression that he spent decades perfecting. His brown eyes straight, his mouth un moving. He stood next to his new Leader, CEO Leonardo Jakob. As silent as stone. His eyes looking directly at the door. Waiting…waiting…just waiting for that one Reploid he hated.
Leo was leaning against the wall, looking closely to Colonel and he wondered if he’d be able to shove a ball of coal in one of his compartments and get a diamond in two weeks. The young man sighed, pushing himself off the wall to get a better look at his comrade.
“Colonel. Colonel!” He had to repeat, as he watched the stern faced Repliforce soldier practically wish the wall in front of him would explode.
“He’s not here yet. You can relax for god’s sake.”
Colonel was snapped out of his trance with a “Hm?” Colonel grunted in annoyance. He sat in a chair and continued to stare at the door. His hands over his mouth and his chin and his eyes practically piercing a hole through the door.
“Forgive me for being so quiet sir. I’m preparing mentally.”
“There’s nothing to prepare.” Leo breathed, walking to the side of the table, his hand resting on his hip as he looked to Colonel. “I understand that you harbor resentment towards him, but he is not somebody we want as our enemy. As powerful as team we are...” Leo shook his head, X’s track record flooding though his mind. The thought of X attacking Jakob Corporation was something that he was very afraid of.
“Repliforce and the Hunters are much better off working together, rather than holding onto old grudges and starting another war. That was why I came in, remember?”

“….X?" Leo blinked. Was that really what he was looking at? Was that an X? It looked…. small.
"My name is Leo, I’m the CEO of Jakob Corporation. Do you know what Jakob Corporation is?”
He.. knew his name? The teen drew back a tad, eyeing him warily. ”…Y..Yes?“
As for the Jakob Corporation… "N…No. I.. haven’t ev..even heard o..of it.” It was completely new to him.
“Really?” Well that was unfortunate. He was starting to think he was the only one in the multiverse!
“Anyway, not really sure how I got here, but mind telling me what this place is?”
"H...Hello..." Her face grew red as she spoke to him.
“Well hello there.” He chuckled slightly, the famous grin resting casually on his face. The blush was noticeable, and the boy chuckled once more.
“You alright? You’re looking a little flushed~”
“Mavericks need to be destroyed." He said rather abruptly, his voice rather sharp actually as he looked to her. "It’s your duty as a Hunter to make sure that they are disposed of. If you hesitate, you will only get you or someone else hurt. They are not worth it.”
However, he laughed again, his smile returning. “But we all learn differently. You just wont get very far if you keep acting like that. Ask X, he’ll know what I mean.”
“Don’t say that Leo!! Whether or not they are mavericks, they used to have something in them…something that they cared for that they wouldn’t let go no matter what! They used to be kind, and normal citizens, with feelings just like humans…” Misora got quiet, Misora never liked shouting, it wasn’t good for her.
“I’ve gotten quite far the way I am…although…I’m still a Class C Hunter…”
He stopped walking, his orange eyes meeting to hers with absolute conviction. “I mean what I say.”
He shook his head, starting to walk again. “Reploids may be people, but I’d most certainly want someone to end my life if I had no control over my actions. It’s a fate worse than death. Your choices might seem right but you’ll never go past a C rank if you continue question why you do your job.”
the-jakob-project is a wonderfully snarky, egotistical OC. He’s fun to interact with, and the mun’s pretty awesome, too.

"H...Hello..." Her face grew red as she spoke to him.
"Well hello there." He chuckled slightly, the famous grin resting casually on his face. The blush was noticeable, and the boy chuckled once more.
"You alright? You’re looking a little flushed~"
"Well, how bout a walk, and then if we’re hungry, let’s grab a bite." He chuckled as he made his way back into the building, holding the door open for her.
Jakob Corp was normally pretty busy inside, but due to the fact that the day was ending, less people were present. The dim light from the sun gave the inside office a golden look to it. They walked past the receptionist desk, Leo winking to the young woman who was working, waving.
"I’m out Sasha, you have yourself a good night."
She smiled, nodding back, wrapping things up before she headed home herself.
Leo began walking down the sidewalks, the night of Abel City soon coming, lights and clubs starting to open as they approached the heart of the city.
"So Misora, what’s it like living as a Maverick Hunter?"
"It’s great, I mean…it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, my creator wanted me to be able to protect others, and it’s something I’m very good at…but…I have difficulty doing my job sometimes…"
Misora looked down for a moment. “Since an incident that happened years ago…I hesitate when I have to destroy a maverick…”
"Mavericks need to be destroyed." He said rather abruptly, his voice rather sharp actually as he looked to her. "It's your duty as a Hunter to make sure that they are disposed of. If you hesitate, you will only get you or someone else hurt. They are not worth it."

Leo must have taken a wrong turn. He had heard about the randomness of the portals but, this was a tad strange.
Leo blinked as he stood in this strange forsaken lab. He held his rum and coke gently in his hands as he looked around, the liquid in the glass bobbing slightly as he walked. He would have to request an extraction from this area pretty soon, but that would take a little bit to set up.
"Well, this is certainly an interesting situation." He admitted as he took a sip, but pausing as he looked to something in the distance. Leo finished the sip, looking towards the little thing hiding behind the door.
"Hello?"
The little bot squeaked, his eyes growing wide. Ack- He noticed him…! He hesitated, staring at the other before slowly edging into the open. “H….Hello….”
X looked him over nervously, confused. “Who….Who are y..you?”
"....X?" Leo blinked. Was that really what he was looking at? Was that an X? It looked.... small.
"My name is Leo, I'm the CEO of Jakob Corporation. Do you know what Jakob Corporation is?"
X looks at the human with interest. "You are the new owner of Repliforce? Congrats on raising it up from ruins. Altho I'll not lie, I'm suprised. But I'm sure you will do well." X just remembered that he had not told the human who he was. "Oh, Pardon my rudeness, I'm Megaman X Alfa Light. Its a pleasure to meet you." He said softly with a gentle smile.
"To be complimented by the legendary X, I’d have to say that I am quite flattered." He smiled. "Certainly not everyday that that occurs."
Leo bowed lightly, grinning like usual as he examined the blue hunter. "Though, you are not the X from my world, that much is true. He’s not nearly as eloquent as you are. Have you come to give the newly christened owner some advice?"
His tone was playful, but truth be told, he would not mind it in the slightest.
"Advice? My dear, I cant give you that since all groups and clans works differently. They all have different motives, goals, beliefs and ways to be. If I was to give you advice then I can only give you the advice I would give to help you become a leader or master. Depending on were on the timeline you wish to speak to me. But its true, I’m not the X you knew. I find him rater……. Close-hearted or unforgiven, I believe. Not sure how to describe that." X thinks abit. "Pardon me, I mean no harm. This is just from the little I have seen. Would I interest you in a cup of tea or are you too busy?" X asked softly.
Well, that was a rather interesting sentence. Timelines, masters, it was a rather strange bit of knowledge to digest. Though the offering of tea, wasn’t really something he could pass up.
"Well, I’ll admit I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, but I’d be happy to take you up on your offer X." He made his way over to the cyber elf, offering his hand . "My name is Leonardo, but Leo works too."
X smiled and took his hand, shaking it gently. "Master X of Neo Arcadia, just X please." He lead him into a elegant tea-saloon, giving a sign for Leo to sit down while X went off to get the tea and some snacks ready. It did not take long before he came back. It was a … strange choose of tea set, as it looked like something from 1800 England. X served the young man and himself before siting down softly. "So tell me how things are going over at the Jacob project and Reploiforce."
"Well, X, I’m not sure how Repliforce was in your world, but in my world I’ve been able to establish them as a Private Organization. You see, they had gotten themselves into trouble with my world’s X. Before I had gotten involved, Repliforce began dealing in illegal operations that had violated the probation that our world’s government had established due to their coup a while back. However, after some conflict, I had decided to step in and try to patch things up. So far, I’d like to say that I’m doing the right thing for them."
He took the tea, taking a sip. It was… interesting to say the least. Though, not something that was his favorite. Yet, he was a polite man. It’s not everyday that Mega Man X treats you to tea.
"And the Orbital Elevator? It’s thriving. Many are using it to trade with the colonies, which is a boost to our economy that our world has needed for some time."
A meeting of minds. (future-russian-princess)
"Well… we are well into the 22nd century." He said as he blinked to her question. It was an odd one, and she must have been from another universe or another time. Nobody normally asks any questions like that around here. However, something had just hit him like a sack of bricks at the very last moment.
'Cossack!?'
"…Excuse me, miss Kalinka, you said Cossack, correct? If so, then this is truly… wow."
A Cossack descendant had been commissioned by Jakob Corp to create the design for New Generation Repliods. Yes, Vladimir Cossack. Vladmir had to have been a descendant from Kalinka, and thus her father must have been…
"I have to say, it’s truly an honor to meet you. Your family has done much for my company and this world."
The 22nd century? Ok so she hadn’t gone more than 100 years in the future, right? However, she was pulled out of her thoughts at Leo’s shocked expression. Well she new that her last name was well known in her time because of her father’s work in robotics but she didn’t know that it was well known this far in the future. It kinda flattered her to think about that.
"Oh um thank you, but uh what did my family do that was so great." That probably wasn’t a good thing to ask, but she was a nine year old girl and curious. It’s not like anyone could fault her for not knowing how that information could affect the time stream. That is if this even was her world’s future.
"Well, quite a bit actually. They've helped establish a modern Reploid design that has impacted this world greatly. Their work has allowed us to advance Reploid research by quite a few years. Without your family, we would certainly be struggling when it came to advancements."
"Are you unaware of what your family does, Kalinka?"
"Oh, you must be Leo!" Jan has a cheery look on her face. "I've heard a lot about you from other reploids! My name is Jan, truly nice to meet you!"
"Really now? Well, I certainly hope they were good things. Nice to meet you too Jan."
Is it head owning the Repliforce?
"It certainly is a challenge. You're dealing with people who have devoted their lives to a cause. Sometimes, you have to be the one to tell them that they are wrong. I've had to do this numerous times. I'm in this position to help Repliforce excel, not to hinder it. I will do what it takes to make sure we are on the right track."

"Likewise, Mr. Jakob." Emerson was glad to have made a good first impression before even meeting this mysterious visage of Leo. As the other inspected his eyes, he realized why he had been sent there.
"I understand you’ve read my file, but by all means I don’t think you should lend your trust to an electronic document."
If it were not for the tone he said it in and the smirk he had, Emer could have sounded disrespectful. But as the previous moments have proven, Jakob is different from the other humans that the Knight has come across. He seemed to understand a lot about Emer’s character and Mentality before the 5-minute mark, and that made him comfortable to joke with this person.
"But.. In all seriousness, I must mention the recent transfer of power. Your company bought out Repliforce because we were going downhill fast. While I’m incredibly grateful for it, I can’t help but think.. Why?”
Emer said this in the least offensive tone possible, trying to get the most detailed answers out of this first encounter. Jakob was a good man and Emer knew this, he just needed to feed his ever-starving curiosity..
Leo's smile widened.
"I'm glad you asked Emer." He said as he offered the Knight a seat as he walked over to an area with some rather comfortable looking furniture. Leo sat down on a couch, relaxing a bit, motioning for Emer to join him on the couch across from him. "I saw opportunity."
He set his drink to the side on a coaster. "You're right, Repliforce was declining. Colonel, while doing his best, could not handle it on his own. I respect his position in the Repliforce, and the effort he has made to preserve it. However, despite some of the choices he made, I respect Colonel. In a world that has mostly turned it's back on him, he was doing what he believed to be the best for Repliforce."
He closed his eyes, sighing slightly.
"But unfortunately, it would not have ended well if I had not stepped in. I saw the dangers. X and Colonel have too much pride. However, X has friends of equal trust and power to help balance him out. Colonel did not have that. I acquired Repliforce with the intention of peace. That was one of the reasons."
"Another reason was because humanity is declining Emer." He said quietly, his tone very serious. "At least on Earth. More and more Reploids are being produced, and more and more humans are leaving for the Colonies. Humans are losing power, and that brings fear to them. Jakob Corporation is a beacon of humanity, so it would make sense that they would trust me. Have you wondered why many didn't question the acquisition of Repliforce? Don't get me wrong, there was some questioning done, but I was able to acquire it without much trouble."
He leaned forward, crossing his fingers together.
"Jakob Corporation, while heavily encourages to blur the line between humanity and Reploid-kind, still keeps human interests quite high. We create Reploids to help people, we created the Orbital Elevator to heal our wounded economy, and to give people the chance to leave Earth, if they so wish. We made space travel affordable to people who could not see their families in space, because travel was too expensive."
However, his smile returned.
"I took control of Repliforce to give humanity another chance, and to heal the broken bonds between the two species. If I am able to end a war, bring peace, and hope back to people, then I feel that my decision was justified. I do not wish to use Repliforce for my own needs, nor do I wish to abuse it or tarnish it's name. I saw an opportunity to help people, and to bring confidence back to humanity, so I took it."
"So, your the new head of the Jakob Corporation? Its a pleasure to meet you" Andrea spoke to the young man as she offered her left hand to the young president of the corporation "I'm Andrea, S-Class Maverick Huntress, although, with how much power and influence your company holds, I'm more than certain you already knew who I was, right?" Andrea spoke to the young man a small smile on her face.
"Andrea…." he mused…. placing his fist to his chin as he pondered for a quick moment. "I’m sure we’ve got some record on it, especially if you were involved when the Repliforce had their coup. But forgive me, off the top of my head, I do not know. I generally respect the Maverick Hunters and keep out of their business."
He smiled back to her, placing his hands in his pockets as he chuckled.
"Though after meeting you now, it’ll be pretty hard to forget you." He flirted, winking to her.
"An S-Class? Impressive. That’s on the level of X, Zero, and Axl."
Leo listened, raising a brow as she had mentioned what she had come for. It was a rather interesting reason to approach him about, and he was wondering what Intel he himself possibly could have on this situation. Regardless, he was a curious man, but at the same time, he was not unwise.
He chuckled as she attempted to usher him in private. While there were risks in a request such as that, Leo decided to humor her on her request. There were many risks involved with speaking with someone like this in private. Yet, Leo decided to take the risk. He pulled out his phone, and typed something in before walking over to her.
"The courtyard should suffice." He spoke calmly as they walked outside, the sunshine quite bright out, as it was in the middle of the business day. He would walk a bit more before they were sheltered by a large cherry blossom tree, a personal favorite of his. "Now, this Reploid, what is it about them that you are trying to investigate about them without the use of your own resources?"
Andrea followed the young CEO outdoors as she waited for him to state if and when it was okay to speak about what she was investigating. Pulling her datapad out from the hardcase on her hip she typed a few things onto the data pad before setting it down on the ground.
"You see… This reploid, and why I can no longer use official channels and intel is due to the nature of his existence and the dangerous power he wields" Andrea spoke as she snapped her fingers as the datapads screen turned on and displayed a great amount of information on an experimental type of combat reploid equipped with a new type of core and system that could allow said reploids to grow without limitations on the amount of power their cores could put out. "You see… I can no longer use official hunter channels simply because if the government officials learned of what this reploid I have in my unit is capable of they would likely have him retired, and I would rather not have a member of my unit be endangered." She explained as she made a few gestures with her hands to make some of the data screens fade away.
"The reason the government could see him as a threat is due to the system he is equipped with, if it fell into the wrong hands… Well the end result would be…" Andrea continued as she shivered a bit at the thought of all the destruction that could come about if this data ell into the wrong hands. "Anyways… Back to the main point of why I am here." She spoke as she left the screens open for Jakob to review and look over the data.
"While investigating my subordinate’s origins, I came across a name" She spoke as she made several more gestures and pushed aside all of the data and all that was left was a single name "Sullivan Volkov" Seh spoke as she looked at the name for a moment before she made yet another gesture to turn off the data pad "That’s where my information all ends, despite what I have learned, I only know that my subordinate is a prototype combat reploid, but to what end, why was he created, and why is it that I can’t find anymore information on him, nor can I locate his creator to question him" She concluded as she knelt down and picked up her data pad. "So, you see Mr. Jakob, I need your help in locating this Sullivan Volkov, and the last little bit of information I could get on him, was at one point in the past, he was an employee with the Jakob corporation, before the Orbital Elevator incident, so I was hoping that I could poke through your databases as well as talk to a few of the employees who may of know our mysterious vanishing scientist, if that is okay with you, of course" Andrea finished as she had hoped that he would comply with her request, despite what sorts of dangers it could come with.
Leo rested his fist gently under his chin as he listened, a gesture he commonly used whenever he was listening closely to someone, especially with news such as this. Not often was it that someone had brought news to you that one of your former associates was involved with creating a prototype Reploid, especially one that was created behind the company's back. This was indeed a serious issue.
"Andrea, this is interesting news that you bring me." He said as he lowered his hand, his eyes studying hers closely as he began to speak. "Whomever was working on that prototype must have been studying X, as his core has a very similar function. From what I've seen, even he had difficulties controlling that much power. However, I can see why the government wouldn't be sniffing around him because of his current status. It wouldn't really be wise to question and possibly condemn someone who has been involved with saving the planet many times over, especially if they are now leader of Hunter HQ."
He tilted his head slightly, looking closer to her, studying her even more.
"I'll admit I am very concerned with your story, but I have a few concerns with you as well. Have your informed your Commander on this? If anyone needs to know first, it would be him, especially if this person is a liability. Prototypes, especially from someone who has dropped off the radar are bad news. I understand that he is your comrade, but you still have a duty to follow, I believe."
He crossed his arms, his expression cool, but his tone had a sense of finality to it.
"I'd like to help you, but I will need confirmation from your Commander, and I will need information on this Reploid as well before I will allow you to look at our database. As much as this concerns me, I still have to follow rules, especially when it involves the Maverick Hunters."
