Long limousines weren’t exactly your style, but you weren’t going to complain about the fully funded trip to a meeting that held crucial information about EonCore. It was all part of business, and you were good at keeping it professional, even as you sat across from the EonCore Tech Chairman.
You wore a long, silken black dress with a slit up the thigh, smoothing it out an unnecessary amount of times as you looked out the window. You also fumbled with your silver jewelry, as if you had to put it back in place every time the vehicle made a smooth turn.
“Nervous?” Valko asked with a sly smirk.
He leaned forward a little with his elbows on his knees, his short burgundy hair catching in the moonlight that filtered through the tinted limousine windows.
“What’s a little conference?” You say with an easy smile. It’s a lie. It wasn’t his attention on you or him at all that made you uneasy. You also were never one to find tasks like this daunting, being the first option Captain Jenna relied on, what with your resourcefulness on the field.
A completely useless resourcefulness when it came to a speech.
You were scared of public speaking. Deathly scared. And you had to give a small speech on behalf of the Hunter’s Association at the meeting. It was only two paragraphs. You had no clue why you were so scared of talking. It was one of those things you beat yourself up over again and again. You didn’t pick the career path of being a hunter to have to go through the trauma of a high school classroom all over again. Your stomach lurches uneasily.
You had no idea what the room looked like, but you made sure you memorized all the words by heart just so that something was under your control. Valko was going to be doing most of the speaking after that, and then some more people would share crucial information you had to pay attention to. Thank fuck you didn’t have to wait to give your speech at the end, or you might have melted into a puddle on the floor.
“74 seconds.” Your attention snaps back to Valko, who is looking at you with a pitiful smile, something in his expression a little too soft for your liking. “Or so.” He adds on, his golden eyes glimmering softly.
Before you can ask what the hell he’s talking about, he takes his ring off his finger and holds out a hand, looking at you expectantly.
Your throat bobs up and down with an inaudible gulp, feeling a little uneasy as you simply place your hand in his.
Valko slips the ring onto your pinkie finger, but it’s a little too big, so he moves it onto your ring finger. Your brain is too mushy to think about the scandalous implications of that right now, just wondering what it is he’s doing.
“It’s just a couple sentences. Think of it that way.” Valko says helpfully, eyes boring into yours.
For fuck’s sake, it wasn’t helpful for the CEO of this company to be doting over you right now. Before you can open your mouth to retort he speaks again, something gentle about his attention for you.
“Every time you finish a sentence, give it a spin.” He looks down at your hand resting on top of his big palm and gives the ring on your finger a small spin. To your surprise, the thick metal band in the middle silently spins while the ring stays in place, a silent whirring that feels… comforting.
“You’ll get through what you had to say before you realize it.” Valko gives it another spin, as if to prove his point, and you swear you see his ears twitch a little as he looks back up at you.
He lets go of your hand and settles back into his seat with an easy smile, his gaze still very intent on you, taking in a deep breath through his nose and letting out an imperceptible sigh that you could have sworn resembled the kind of sound that came out when you smelled something pleasant.
This guy was weird.
Not what you expected.
A little endearingly handsome.
All of a sudden you realize that the car has been at a halt for a while. You snap out of it and a new wave of anxiety rushes through your tummy as you look out the tinted limousine windows.
People are lined up outside on either side of a carpet of some sort, leading towards a building with the flash of cameras already audible.
Eager to get this over with, you don’t let Valko reach over to open the door for you, opening the door yourself and stepping out. The cameras immediately start flashing, but if you thought that was bad, it becomes a deafening roar as Valko comes into view. He puts on this easy, charismatic smile as he steps out of the limousine with a dazzling wave. You were grateful he didn’t try to patronize you with some strange arm or hand placements as you walked, just strolling side by side with you.
The walk through the assault of camera flashes and people shouting felt like a slow motion movie scene. Once you ascended the stairs to the large, off-white building, entering through the doorway that was several people tall, your heart started pounding treacherously.
You tried your best to calm down, but you weren’t left to your own thoughts for long, Valko’s slightly enthusiastic, easy voice bouncing through the echoing halls.
“I need to take a little walk after that. Who invented such a short vehicle?” He drawls out with a pointed stretch of his arms over his head, his tuxedo rising a bit. He’s a little laid back for a Tech Chairman, you note.
“I’ll see you in the meeting then.” You respond shortly with a nod, turning around to find the room number that was assigned for the conference. The hallway looked daunting, way too huge, and you were pretty sure you could still hear your voice bouncing off the walls.
“Hold on.” You feel a hand on your arm.
You turn around, looking Valko up and down, wondering if you did something wrong. He lets out a soft sigh, letting go of your arm and giving you an apologetic smile.
“You spent 74 seconds brooding about this little meeting. And that was just what I was counting. I’m guessing you’ve been stressing yourself out over this for a lot longer than that 5 minute ride.”
You blink.
“What’s a little walk?” He offers with a hopeful smile.
“The meeting’s about to start.” You really aren’t capable of more than stating facts right now, your whole body still tense.
“I’m just…” He lets out a soft chuckle, shaking his head as he places his hands on his hips. He looks at you insistently. “Isn’t your peace worth at least 5 minutes of your time to you?”
You spun the ring on your finger without thinking about it, the silent whirring putting you at ease, even if a little, your shoulders dropping from their tense posture.

The garden of flowers and leaves lining the patio’s fancy railings overflowed onto some of the floor and the walls, emitting a pleasant smell that matched the beautiful glow of the moonlight that bathed them. Someone somewhere in the building was playing a soft, playful tune on the grand piano, and the notes floated along with the gentle breeze on the patio.
Valko walked with ease, a friendly distance from you. His confidence was something that teetered on the edge of cocky but felt more like a natural ease that suited him well. Or maybe his confidence just came from the fact that he didn’t waste his time questioning his belonging anywhere.
Except when it came to you, but you didn’t know that yet. In fact, ever since he caught your scent, all he could think about was whether he had to prove the belonging that he felt in every fiber of his being to you. But he was a patient man, and he wasn’t about to rush the fact that the rest of his life was walking right beside him.
You stop in front of a particular flower, smiling down at it, your fingers grazing the mauve purple petals.
“Dahlia flowers are some of my favorite.” He comments, walking over to you, hovering a little within your personal space.
You look up at him, watching as he looks over the flowers lining the patio. They all seem to be of different types, and they are arranged in a wide variety of colors.
“Are these all dahlia flowers?” You ask, a little impressed with his knowledge of the flower.
“Mmm nope.” Valko says, walking backwards, his large fingers grazing over some of the flowers with more rounded petals and over some smaller ones in bunches. “These are violas and pansies.”
He smiles a little thoughtfully down at the clumps of tiny flowers as his fingers graze right under them and you swear you’ve never seen anything more enchanting.
“They remind me a lot of my family. They’re super tough and come in all sorts of colors and shapes. Each one has it’s own charm… but they look best all together.” He looks up with a bit of a bashful smile, withdrawing his hand from the flowers.
“Also it’s probably because we have lots of these around where I’m from.” He quickly shifts the topic of conversation. “Where are you from? I mean– do you like flowers? Like which type, which kind of flower?”
You bite back a laugh but a small snort of laughter leaves you, and you have to turn away a little bit to compose yourself. “I’m not that good with flowers.” You say, your voice giving away the fact that you’re still smiling. “I just like ones that are pretty, like purple or blue ones.” You respond as casually as you can manage.
To your great astonishment, when you turn back to look at Valko, the remnants of a smile on your face, you find him staring at you with a wide smile on his face, not looking the least bit embarrassed.
If he had a tail it would be wagging right now.
You don’t say anything for a moment, your eyes a little wide at the way he seems so… pleased? Happy? Utterly enamored? It makes your stomach dance in a way it hasn’t in a while.
As if Valko realizes he was staring, he snaps out of it, nodding a little like you just told him something important, looking back out at the garden of flowers that also lay beyond the patio.
You look down at your watch, realizing that the meeting has already started. You look up at him in alarm.
“The meeting started! We should go.”
Valko looks at you, blinking for a moment.
“It’s–”
“The meeting can’t start unless I’m there.” He says with a shrug, then smiles, looking down at another pretty, deep cobalt blue flower. Some of the long stems and flowers have more of a deep purple color and he crouches down to them, looking up at you. “These ones are blue and purple? Do you like them?” He asks as he looks up at you, his eyes shining with genuine curiosity.
“We should still head over to the meeting.” You insist, and he pouts up at you.
“5 more minutes?”
About 5 minutes ago you would probably find the way the CEO of EonCore was pouting up at you and begging for 5 more minutes of your time a little off-putting. But with every interval of 5 minutes that passed with him, you felt curious about him in strange ways.
You didn’t mind giving him 5 more minutes.
“We didn’t even get to the celosia’s down there! Those are the best ones.” He insists, speaking to you as if perusing the flowers on the patio of this fancy building was the most important thing he could be doing right now.
“Okay.” You agree with a chuckle, leaning down to admire the flowers with him. He used the 5 minutes to tailor the tour of the patio to your personal liking, getting a feel for your preferences, or at least as far as they went concerning flowers. You let him talk your head off with random facts about species of flowers you’ve never heard of.
Valko hoped he could get 5 more minutes of your time after this, and then 5 more after that for the rest of your life.

You’re completely put at ease by the time the meeting comes around. As you stand at the front of the cramped conference room, you do feel that familiar surge of anxiety, but it’s put at ease as Valko introduces you and doesn’t have a shadow of a doubt in you as you begin to speak.
Your voice is steady, and you give the ring on your finger an imperceptible whir at the end of every sentence, eventually slowing it down to every other sentence, and then forgetting about it altogether as you enter the easy flow of speaking, your finger simply resting on the ring without needing to move it.
It’s like magic, and you swear you could cry from how happy you feel. After the meeting, of course. Before you even realize it, you’ve reached the end of your rehearsed speech, the room filled with quiet claps of recognition.
You look over at Valko, and he gives you a genuine smile. His golden eyes are fixed into a gaze so fond you might melt into the floor.
His expression only eased into a handsome professionalism once he looked back out at the room. You headed back to your assigned seat, now attentive to the meeting.
You didn’t understand yet why you seemed so important to him.
For Valko, it was a fact which came to him as easily as breathing: you were his mate.
He found the one fated for him since the dawn of time, your destinies undeniably written together.

You agreed to grab some coffee with Valko. He reached out to you first. You expected him to, as he asked for your phone number quite boldly after the meeting a week ago. You wear an oversized grey sweater over a grey skirt, long black boots underneath. A black handbag hangs over your shoulder as you walk over to the spot you both agreed on. The autumn breeze is nice and not too chilly.
It’s a cute, small coffee shop, one with tables outside and pretty fairy lights lining the storefront, still on even in the light of the afternoon. Valko was texting you insistently, as he had been doing for the past week, about random things. Even now, your phone lit up with his name.
You can’t pretend you didn’t smile every time it did, though.
Valko | I’m sitting inside
Valko | wyaaa
Valko | got a nice table in the corner, supa cozy
Valko | do u want me to order or wait for u?
Valko | i mean like order for u as well
Valko | not just for myself lol
You giggled at your phone, putting it in your bag as you stepped into the store. Valko’s eyes immediately found you. You hadn’t seen him in a week, and that was also in a tuxedo. Right now, under the soft golden glow of the fairy lights and other cozy overhead lights of the cafe, he looked so… warm. It was adorable. His short red hair was warmly lit. He was wearing a red sweater on top of a white t-shirt, grey slacks under it. He also had these glasses on that made you meet his wide smile with your own.
He stands up, leaving his phone on the table as he meets you halfway. He doesn’t look you up and down and he doesn’t even break eye contact the whole way to you. His eyes take in your face and his shoulders drop with some sort of ease as he takes in a deep breath, looking down at you. “Hey, what’s up.” He says casually, his fingers intertwining with each other in front of him in a little bit of an awkward, endearing way.
Okay, let’s be clear. You weren’t one to fall for the antics of men so easily, and you tended to be cautious. So it really bothered you that his casual greeting had you blushing so easily. Or maybe it was the way he was looking at you. Or the fact that you hadn’t been on a date in a while. “Hey.” You respond back a little quieter than intended.
Valko notices it, for sure. His smile widens a fraction, but he doesn’t tease you about it. He looks over at the menu that’s hanging over the counter, stretching his arms out a little. Is he a little nervous too? You realize you’re staring and look over at the menu, deciding what to get.
─── ࣪˖ ࣪ ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ────── ࣪˖ ࣪ ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ────── ࣪˖ ࣪ ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ────── ࣪˖ ࣪ ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ────── ࣪˖ ࣪
The date was actually nice. You both got over the initial shyness pretty quickly, slipping back into that familiar banter. Valko didn’t overwhelm you with sweet talk or make you set too much of the pace of the conversation. In fact, it felt like you didn’t have to think at all the whole time. You both traded pastries and coffee, and talked about the most random things. At certain points, the conversation dipped into deeper topics, but you were both mindful of each other and didn’t push or ask more than the other was comfortable opening up about. It was a first date, after all.
Valko seemed pretty nice. You had to admit he was starting to look more and more like your type, even as much as you tried not to idealize him beyond what he revealed of himself to you. It was pretty hard, though, especially considering the traitorous flutter of your heart when he looked at you a certain way. You both also got along very well. You silently decided that you would definitely be seeing him more.
Valko covered the bill even as you insisted, and the both of you playfully fought over it. Valko used a slight of hand trick that he taught you earlier in the conversation to steal a piece of your pastry, giving you a small tsk as he successfully slipped his card in place of yours. You didn’t notice until the damage was already done, giving him a playful pout.
He just smiles adoringly at you, walking over to your side of the table and pulling out your chair for you, which wipes the pout right off your face. You take his hand as he helps you up.
“If you’re gonna be so stubborn about paying the bill, how about you just even it out by paying next time?” Valko suggests, grabbing his phone from the table and shoving it into his pocket as he gently lets go of your hand, although it lingers a little longer than needed.
“I knew you were gonna say that. Classic way to secure a second date. Real smooth.” You comment sarcastically, walking out of the cafe with him. He was about to retort with something but there was a little problem.
It was raining outside.
As you stepped out of the cafe, you both stood to the side of the door, underneath the awning that protected you from the rain that was showering down all around.
The space is small, so it forces you and Valko to stand close together so that you don’t get drenched, your shoulder brushing against his arm.
“Shit. I should’ve checked the weather.” You say, looking out at the heavy rain. You turn to face Valko. He’s just looking at you for some reason, his hands in his pockets.
“How long until the rain stops?” You ask, a little curious about why he looks so lost.
“Hm? Oh.” He murmurs, taking out his phone and opening the weather app. You look back out at the rain. It looks hopeless.
“5 more minutes.” He informs you, still looking at his phone.
You look back at him, smiling unwittingly.
“What?”
Then he smiles too, it catching up to him.
“Nothing.” You say with a smile, looking out at the rain again, although it seems a lot quieter for some reason.
“Liar.” He says, although it’s a soft accusation, just to get you to look at him, which you do. He gently takes your hand in his, his fingers gently playing along the inside of yours. His other hand tucks his phone back into his pocket.
“We both know your mind’s currently in a garden of chrysanthemums.” He teases with a smile.
“I prefer the salvias.” You counter even as your heart beats a little faster.
“I know you do.” He purrs out, his eyes softening.
You’re silent for a moment, just smiling up at him unbelievingly.
“You’re a real smooth talker.” You say a little softer, your voice as quiet as when you greeted him about 2 hours ago.
“If being a smooth talker is what makes you look at me like that then I’ll just have to start practicing my lines.” He states without missing a beat.
You don’t know at what point your faces got so close, but they were, and Valko’s warm breath was fanning over your face.
Your gaze flutters down to his lips, then back up to his eyes, which look a little more wild behind his glasses now compared to how soft they were a second ago. He gently pulls your hand, tugging you a little closer to him, leaning down a bit.
“I’m really nervous.” He admits all of a sudden. It catches you off guard and you don’t know whether you should laugh or just stare at him. You were just about to kiss him and he just throws this at you.
“I don’t think that was part of your lines.” You quip, a slow smile unfurling on your face as you pull back just a bit.
“I’m just being honest. I wish somebody had given me a list of the right things to say to you.”
You’re not sure how to respond to that.
“You’re really pretty. And you smell nice.”
You let out an incredulous laugh, a little taken aback at his interesting manner of talking. He usually seems so easygoing, although you’ve known him for all but a week. This seems totally unlike Valko.
He gives you a wry smile, then pulls back a little, a flush creeping up his face from the neckline of the white tee under his red sweater. He loosens his grip on your hand, his gaze a little apologetic. “Sorry–”
“Can I kiss you?” You interrupt.
Valko is way too cute right now, and your fingers tighten a little around his, stepping in a little closer to him. His eyes flicker with something you can’t quite read behind his glasses as he looks down at you.
He gulps a little, and it looks like he’s trying to shove out any form of ‘yes’ as quickly as possible but his brain is struggling to catch up. He just nods, mouth a little open to say something although no words leave his mouth. You smile, leaning in.
You press your lips against his sweetly. It’s a little awkward, your noses and his glasses clashing together a bit.
You’re about to pull away but Valko gets himself together, breathing in deeply, letting out a shuddering breath as his lips pull away from yours briefly. He brings a hand to your chin, tilting your head a little so that your faces fit together a little better. Your lips meet his again and you feel your toes curl at the warmth that flutters throughout your whole body now.
Your hand that’s not holding his ventures up to gently grasp at his red sweater on his waist, leaning up a little, pulling him in a little closer as you continue kissing him.
Your lips slot together in hot, slow kisses. Valko’s lips move in a rhythm that matches the pace you’re setting, and he’s trying really hard to not let out some absolutely unbecoming sound into the kiss.
You both don’t notice that the rain stops, too caught up in kissing each other. It catches up to you a moment later. You pull back, still a little dazed and your lips a little kiss-swollen now. You both look out at the wet pavement, the weather a cool breeze now, but you don’t let go of each other even a little bit.
Instead, Valko pulls you a little closer to get your attention. You look at him, his hand cupping the side of your face as his thumb traces over your jaw. A slow smile unfurls on his face.
“I know what you’re gonna say.” You whisper to him, a smile now growing on your face as you look at him.
“Yeah, it’s getting old isn’t it?”
“I don’t know I kind of like it.”
“You say it this time.”
“5 more minutes?”
He laughs gently, leaning in again and you both smile into the kiss this time. You were definitely falling for him.

It’s been 3 months of you and Valko dating. You had gotten so close in such a short amount of time, and it honestly felt like you never needed anyone else. Your relationship came so naturally to the both of you. You and Valko shared your insecurities, your happy moments, and were absolutely smitten with each other. He explained the whole “scent” and “mate” thing, and you teased him endlessly about it but it only made your relationship even more absurdly deep in such a short amount of time. There was no question in your mind that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. Every day he gave you more reasons to fall deeper even if you were already head over heels, like on this very evening.
Valko came home a little late, wearing a red turtleneck under a grey suit with his glasses on. He carried his briefcase.
You lower your laptop screen, pouting as you look at him. You’re lounging on the couch in your pajamas, laying your head against the armrest, your legs pointing towards the door Valko walks in from.
“Valkooooo.” You call out even though he’s only a couple feet away. He immediately puts his suitcase down, taking off his glasses and shedding his outer coat, just in his red turtleneck and grey slacks now. He walks over to where you are on the couch, all but collapsing onto you as he pulls your laptop off of your chest and places it onto the coffee table. He buries his face into your neck, taking in a deep inhale. You giggle and shove at him. He takes his time to pull back and look down at you.
“What’s up?” He asks casually.
You poke two fingers against his forehead. “I’m pooped.”
“Why?” He asks simply, and you tell him simply. Everything was so easy with Valko.
“I have so much work and its all due tonight and tonight is in 2 hours and I missed you.” You pout as you look at him.
“Well we can’t have that. Let’s see.” He pretends to look thoughtful, looking up a bit. “Well I’m here now so you don’t have to miss me. And you have two hours right? Do you need all two hours to do the work?” He asks as he looks back down at you.
You shake your head.
“How much time?”
“15 minutes.”
He looks down at you with a smile. “Hmm, that leaves us with a lot of relaxing and catching up on you missing me time.” He nuzzles his nose against yours in a slow, affectionate caress. “I missed you too, by the way.”
You hug him against you, pressing soft kisses to the corner of his mouth and his cheek. “You know I had a presentation yesterday and I didn’t even need the ring. Like I got so good at it. It’s crazy.” You say happily as you pull back and smile at him.
He gives you a genuine smile, his eyes so soft and fond as he looks at you.
“I’m really proud of you.” Valko says gently.
For some reason that statement stings tears in your eyes, which Valko immediately senses. He looks a little alarmed, but before he can ask if he did something, you speak softly.
“Thank you.” And you really are grateful. Not just about this but about how Valko was healing so many wounds that he never caused.
He lets out a relieved breath, huffing slightly, just looking at you. “You don’t ever need to thank me for being exactly where you need me to be.”
He adjusted himself above you a little, his hand caressing your jaw, settled on top of you like this was exactly where he was supposed to be right now.
“If you want to hide out with me, we can. If you want to go out and do literally anything, we can do that too. Like… anything. You’re the boss. I’m good with all of it.” He states like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. And it really is with Valko.
You smile up at him, whispering. “You’re so sweet.”
“I’m not. I’m a huge asshole most of the time. You know this.” He quips.
“No you’re not.” You retort.
“No I’m not.” He repeated with a smile that showed off his canines, his golden eyes glinting in the low light of the room. You leaned up, slotting your lips with his, and he let out a low hum into the kiss. His weight settled a little more on top of you. Your toes curled a little as he returned the kiss, both of your lips moving in a deep, languid rhythm.
He pulled back a little, murmuring against your mouth. “I swear, every time I kiss you it’s like the first time all over again.”

Turns out you and Valko were both total freaks. After a night of absolute debauchery, you woke up groggily, hearing your alarm ring. You couldn’t even bring yourself to squint one eye open, just blindly reaching over to turn off your alarm. You successfully turned off your alarm and also threw your phone onto the floor with a loud thud in the process. The weight settled on top of your chest–correction, the heap of naked muscle and man named Valko– stirred, groaning.
Valko peeled one eye open. “Mmm too early.” He grumbled. He hooked his arm tighter around your waist, letting out a long dramatic sigh against your bare chest. The alarm started buzzing again on the floor since you set another one for just a minute after. This time you both groaned.
Valko held onto you tighter, burying his face into your neck. “Five more minutes, please?” He pleaded sleepily, his sentence ending in a soft needy whine.
“Mmm no baby I’m gonna be late.” You murmured, gently pushing him off you and hopping off the bed, which he protested with a pout and a whine. You picked up your phone from the floor and turned off all your alarms.
“Come on, let’s take a shower together, it’ll save time.” You slur out your words, tugging at his arm lazily for him to come, tossing your phone onto the bedside table. Valko doesn’t resist as he follows you off the bed with a small smirk, both of you heading to the bathroom. “You’re a genius.” He praises.
Valko stepped into the spray of the cool shower right behind you, shaking his head a bit as the water sprayed over him. He quickly reached over you to make the water warmer.
“That’s just gonna make me more sleepy.” You protest, trying to swat away his forearm, but it’s no use. He wraps an arm around your waist and hugs you back into him, nuzzling his head against yours.
“Too bad.” He says, pressing a kiss to your hair and inhaling your scent before he turns you around to face him.
You take some soap and start washing him, hugging yourself against him as you wash your hands over his back with the soapy suds lazily.
“You’re being very lazy about this.” Valko murmurs, although he wasn’t really complaining. He leans down, lifting your chin up to press a soft kiss to your pouty lips. “If you’re trying to save time, you’re doing a pretty bad job.”
You pinch his side and he yelps. You giggle and he looks at you, a little more awake now and a little more intentional.
He lunges at you, easily lifting you up, his arm wrapped around your legs. You swat at his back, shouting. “Put me down Val!”
“No.” He bites at your hip playfully and you let out a squeal. You reach over to take some shampoo, burying your fingers into his short burgundy hair. You start rubbing it over his hair messily, a little over his face too as you giggle. He shouts, cursing as he finally puts you down. He tries to pinch at your sides in retaliation but you dodge his hands, your fingers mussing the shampoo into his hair as he’s forced to shut his eyes.
“Not fair!” He complains, crossing his arms over his chest, but he leans down despite his complaints, letting you rub the shampoo into his hair. “Using the shampoo as an excuse to keep me trapped in here. It’s a tactical move. Very smart.” He grunts.
You smile, pressing a kiss to his soapy lips as mercy. You move him under the spray of water, washing the shampoo out of his hair. “Good boy.” You tease.
“Don’t call me that.” He says with a warning snarl as he attempts to look at you, but he’s forced to close his eyes again as the water and soap drip down his face.
“Okay, sorry. 5 more minutes.” You say, amused.
“We’re just two people living in a perpetual state of ‘five more minutes.’” He teases as he smiles a bit. “I think it’s getting a litllllleee old now.”
“I like our little five more minutes.” You say with a smile, finishing washing his hair. He can finally look at you. Through the curtain of water and steam, everything looks a little dreamlike, and the thought of going to work seems entirely irrelevant.
He reached up a wet, large hand, gently cupping your cheek, his thumb sweeping over your skin to clear away a stray bubble.
“I like our five minutes too. I think I could live in those five minutes forever.”
“You’re corny.” You immediately say, and he smiles widely, looking a little offended before you speak again. “I can’t believe I got so lucky.” The words of affection spill out of your lips without really thinking about it.
His hand trailed down to your neck, his thumb rubbing over your jaw as he looked at you, really looked at you. His eyes were wide and vulnerable all of a sudden, and his thumb grazed your bottom lip before he took your hand in his.
“I used to think things like this were just… for other people.” He admitted all of a sudden, his voice a whisper that matched the soft patter of the shower on the floor. “The kind of stuff you see in the movies or just… see other people experiencing. People who tell you you’ll have it one day too.” A soft, fragile smile unfurls on his face. “It’s a lot better than the movies.” He says a little hoarsely. He looks like he’s about to cry.
You on the other hand, are already crying. A hot tear rolls down your eye as you look at him. “Me too.” You say honestly, your hands settling on his waist as you step a little closer to him, looking up at him. “That’s why I feel so lucky. I didn’t think something like this… someone like you… was ever in the cards for me. And here you are and… I finally feel like love is something worth every bit of my time and energy when I used to think it would always be just out of reach for me.” Your lip quivers in a soft pout as you look up at him.
“You’re my biggest blessing, Valko.” You say honestly. You see 2 tears roll out of his eyes too as he looks down at you, also pouting. Valko’s a big crier, and he especially gets emotional about you. “Don’t cry, baby. Please don’t cry.” He pleads softly, his hands cupping your face. His thumbs wipe away your tears.
“I’m yours. Completely. Every part of me is yours. Always has been.” He whispered to you. “As long as you have me, you’re never gonna have to reach for anything ever again. Because I’m not going anywhere. Ever.” He says firmly.
Now you let out a soft sob, crying into his chest as you hug him. He hugs you into him, also crying. “I love you so much.” You say as you hug him.
“I love you more.” He whispered, his voice cracking a little as hot tears rolled down his eyes and he hugged you against him harder.

You and Valko fucked your way through another very very long afternoon turned evening. It was because he was wearing those damn glasses and you couldn’t help yourself. After taking a shower together, he tossed on a pair of black loose sweats that hung low on his hips, not bothering with a shirt. You wore one of his black t-shirts that was way too big for you, and a comfy pair of his shorts as well, tying it so that it wouldn’t just slip down your hips.
You flop back onto the couch, looking up at the ceiling, and it doesn’t take long for Valko to follow, settling on top of you and burying his face into your neck. Your arms wrap around him as he settles his weight over you.
“We are out of control.” You comment with a chuckle as you look up at the ceiling.
“We’re just effective. We know what we like.” He mumbled against your collarbone.
“True.” You looked over at him, teasing with a playful smile. “So you do like me calling you a good boy?”
Valko let out a huff of a laugh, a shameless smile on his face. “Shut up.” He nuzzled his face against your jaw, speaking up again after a moment. “Yeah.” He affirmed, his voice sleepy and thick. He leaned up a bit to look you dead in the eye.
“I like it. A lot. Don’t make a big deal out of it.”
He rested against your chest again. “Now stop being annoying and let me sleep.”
Your smile widens as he admits that. “Nooo don’t sleep I’m gonna miss you. Stay awake.” You say, squeezing his head with your arms, shaking him a little as you giggle playfully. You muss up his hair with your hands.
“Stop…” He groaned. But you didn’t stop. “How are you even this energetic? We just went through a fuckin’ marathon.” He mumbled, leaning up a little to look down at you, catching your wrist easily. He looked down at you sleepily, finally relenting.
“Fine. I’m awake, happy?” He said grumpily although he nuzzled his face into your neck again. “What do you want? Are you just trying to keep making fun of me?”
“Come on we should get some fresh air. We were cramped up in that room for who knows how long. Let’s just sit outside for a bit. Pleaseeee.” You plead, tugging on his arm gently.
He pulled back again, blinking a little as he processed what you said. He let out an approving grunt, moving off of you and taking your hand as he pulled you up with him.
You and Valko ended up on a bench outside. You shoved him into a shirt somehow before leaving, even though he insisted he didn't need one. You sat down in his lap, your head rested against his shoulder.
“Better?” He asked with a grunt, although his gaze was clearly admiring as he looked at your face in the moonlight.
You nod.
He leans his head back, looking up at the sky. The breeze is nice and cool, and Valko can smell a million things within a couple miles’ radius, but he’s happy that the most important scent is right there in his arms.
After a while, he realized that you hadn’t quite been looking down at your lap or up at the sky, and he was a little startled when he realized you were looking at him.
“What? You okay?” He asks in a sleepy, slightly bewildered voice.
You don’t answer immediately, your eyes searching his with a fond look.
He smiles softly, his canines glinting in the moonlight. “Thinking about how much you love me?”
“I knew you were gonna say something corny.” You say with a smile. “I’m okay.” You say after a while. “More than okay. Are you good?” You ask in turn, wondering what he’s thinking right now, hoping he’s not actually mad at you dragging him out here. But Valko could never ever be mad at you. You were his only truth.
Valko lets out a soft, steady breath as he looks at you. “Yeah. I’m good. Really good.” He says, turning a little to face you better as he rests a hand on your hip.
“Actually, I’m better than good.” His voice was a tender rumble now as he looked at you. “I think this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.” He looked off for a moment, a little thoughtful. “You know… I can smell a million different things right now but the only one I’ve been looking for all my life is right here.” He quickly looked away, realizing that his thoughts didn’t come out quite as eloquently as he hoped, an embarrassed snarl on his face. “Scratch that.”
But you didn’t tease him about the scent thing. You found it incredibly endearing. You smiled at him, your fingers intertwining with his as you grabbed his chin softly and made him look at you. “You’re my home, Valko…" You say sincerely as you look into his eyes. You swear you see them shine with tears. "All my 5 minutes are yours.” You add on with a little chuckle.
“Now that was corny.” He pointed out, and you couldn’t deny it.
“We’re both corny.” You say happily.
“It’s kind of cold out here.” Valko said, pretending to ignore you as he looked around.
“I’m your favorite cornball right?” You asked relentlessly.
“Nope.” He teased with a smile as he looked back at you, putting you down on the bench as he got up and started walking away.
“Valko!” You chased after him, hitting his back. He just laughed, leaning down a little for you to jump onto his back. You do and he catches you easily.
“Can we stay out for 5 more minutes?” You say in an annoyingly sweet voice.
“Oh let it go already.” He grumbled, but you could hear his smile. You nipped at his ear.
“5 more minutes pleaseeee.”
Valko swung you around, nuzzling his face into your neck as he held you against him, leaning down into you. You giggled, pushing at him with no luck. “I can show you a much better way to spend 5 minutes.” He joked, for the most part.

a/n I’m gonna hold your balls through this part okay? Okay.
When morning came around, you were yawning, your arms stretching out wide over the bed. You felt the ghost of heat where Valko’s body was and curled up into it. He probably went out for his usual morning run.
You hopped out of bed after a bit, brushing your teeth, still wearing Valko’s black pajama shorts and t-shirt. You opened your phone, shooting Valko some texts.
You | Babeeeee come backkkk
You | Cuddles. Now.
You | Please please please.
You | Next time why don’t you just carry me on your back while you’re running.
You | The extra weight is probably good
You | And I miss you
You | :((((
You close your phone with a smile, tossing it onto the couch as you sink onto it. You turn on the TV, the 24 hour news channel playing. You see Valko’s face on screen and you smile. It’s a picture of him at his office, his whole CEO look going on. God, he’s so handsome.
Then your stomach drops. You realize you’re seeing Valko’s face on TV. On the news.
You sit up a little, reading the titles frantically, turning the volume up.
You read something about Xavier, something about EVER, something about testing.
“CEO of EonCore, Valko, has been taken into custody, and he will be facing court trials. Now there is significant evidence suggesting that these accusations are false. However, a very influential group has ordered his arrest. The merits for this are questionable, but it seems that the government deemed it essential…”
The bored voice of the news anchor on the screen reports all of this like it’s just another happening, droning on while your heart is in your ass.
It’s all a jumble and your blood is thrumming too fast for you to think.
Before you realize it, your bare feet are hitting the pavement. You didn’t even have the time to think about putting shoes on. Your only thoughts were Valko. Valko. Valko. God, you hope he’s safe.
You had too much adrenaline in you to realize that you just ran a mile all the way out to the building Valko was being held in. Shit, you should have brought your Hunter’s ID. There was a crowd of people around the building. You snarled at the sight of some of them looking pleased with themselves, surely involved in this. You wanted to feed them the pavement, along with whoever thought it a good idea to take Valko away from you, but you had bigger concerns right now.
You don’t care that you probably look crazy in oversized pajamas with no shoes, pushing your way through the people. You get stuck towards the front of the crowd, then spot an entrance into the building. It’s a window a little higher up that’s open, but the architecture would make it easy for you to get up. You spot Tara, who looks concerned and you rush up to her.
You take her hands and hold them out, placing your foot in them, indicating for her to hoist you up. “No time to explain.” Is all you answer to her very confused look. Tara hoists you up and you grab onto the ledge. Some people gasp and others try to shout for someone to get you down but you’re too quick. You jump up the ledges of the building, climbing up into the open window.
A worker inside sees you and just looks absolutely dumbfounded. You don’t have time for this. You dash past them, dodging a guard that spots you a little too late. You swing open doors harshly, searching for Valko.
“Valko?! Valko!” You call out for him. As you continued running, the adrenaline was turning into a frantic panic, tears stinging at your eyes. “Valko!!” You slam open door after door, looking for that head of red hair.
You turned a corner and ran right into a guard, who tried to catch you in their arms. You slipped on the floor a little but continued running, crying out Valko’s name. The building had multiple floors, and you had every intention to search every single one until you found Valko.
You ran up the stairs, not bothering with the elevator. You spotted a couple guards rush in from the top of the stairs. “Shit.”
You turn around, deciding to head downstairs instead, but more guards rush in from there. You head right back out the door you used to enter the staircase. Before you can process it, you’re being hauled back, a firm hand fisting into your shirt. They turn you around and slam your back into the wall, the sounds of footsteps and yelling echoing in the staircase.
It’s another security guard. They look breathless as they look at you.
“Where’s Valko?!” You scream in their face.
“He’s already on the flight.” They respond as they look at you like you’re crazy, which you really do feel like right now.
You’re stunned into silence. Flight… flight? What flight?
“What do you mean?” Your voice cracks, a tear rolling down your eye. “What the fuck do you mean?!” You shout at them, trying to push them off, but your efforts are in vain. You’re surrounded.
They let out a steady breath, seemingly trying to calm you down. “He’s being sent elsewhere to be held for now.”
You want to scream, to fight everyone in this staircase. Your brain doesn’t even process what they’re saying, your body still filled with an adrenaline that’s starting to dull into a sharp pain.
“Where?” You ask, trying not to shout in their face again, although you want to.
“We cannot disclose–”
“Bullshit!” You shout. Then you start sobbing. They let go of you as you sink down onto the floor, sobbing hard into your hands, hot tears flowing down your face. Your body wracks with sobs, the sound echoing in the otherwise silent staircase.
“Ma’am you have to come with us, you can’t be in here.” Another security guard says a little more gently.
“C-can I talk to him?!” You ask incredulously, your whole world having been thrown to shit in less than an hour of you being awake.
“I’m afraid not.” The security guard responds.

You can’t accept it. You can’t handle it. You try everything. Find every possible way to reach Valko. You even disclose the details of your relationship to Captain Jenna, hoping she can do something to help. You ask Sylus, who seems to know how to get to anything, what with his influence and wealth. Even he can’t help.
You’re left sobbing for days on end, your eyes puffy and your heart tattered in a million pieces. It can’t be real. It can’t. You can’t give it up. You call his phone endlessly, leaving him messages that are probably being read by some stupid holding officer. Your friends were concerned for you and tried to soothe you, but nothing would soothe the aching gape in your heart but being able to have Valko back.
It doesn’t make sense to you. The revelation came out of nowhere. All the accusations had nothing to do with him and half of them sounded awfully bigoted. You were furious. You put up sites for people to sign and email to try and get him out of holding. You reached an overwhelming 200,000 signatures, but it wasn’t enough. Nothing seemed to be.
Fuck.
You sank into Valko’s bed, holding his pillow and sobbing into it, your chest heaving.
You would give anything just to have 5 more minutes with him.

a/n: please dont cry i am so sorry i am crying too this is so fucking unfair. Lets do something good with our rage.
guys valko is so precious to me also i personally have had trouble with public speaking and i love you guys so im gonna share a little tip. You don’t need a moving ring, you can just mimic the motion of spinning on your ring finger to get through public speaking. It makes it so much easier. Now i can give presentations easy peasy! If every sentence is too much, then do every 4 sentences. Set your own pace, it doesn’t matter.
Also, be confident in yourselves you’re so beautiful and so much more talented than you give yourself credit for. Go out there and discover yourself!
Don’t be disheartened by infold’s removal of Valko. We will fight until we get our baby back 🙂↕️ even if we don’t he lives on in our hearts foreva and eva
I also haven’t written this much in so long this felt so good i think i lowkey fell back in love with writing and im going to be doing a lot more of it! I gotta work on expanding my vocabulary and not switching tenses so often. And um the run on sentences. But i like run on sentences lowk.
I tried drawing and im so shit at it please please i hope i get better
now go reread the good parts and ignore the last bit thank you i love you guys we got this
A quick note to my fellow Sylus mains.
One of y’all just pissed me clean off on X. How could you NOT support Valko? Let me lay this out plain and simple.
1. The storyline was ALWAYS meant to include 6 LIs. Six stellactrum colors, six protocore colors, six slots to display cards on your profile, six options in the dating page, six opponents in the battles, SIX.
2. Each LI has a foil. Xavier and Sylus. Zayne and Caleb. Rafayel and VALKO.
3. Does “COMING SOON” mean NOTHING to you people?? Every time you open a page that shows the LIs, the bottom right says COMING SOON. It has ALWAYS been there.
4. Valko getting removed impacts Caleb and Sylus’s main stories. They will be rushed, low-effort, and completely inadequate. If you want quality content for your main, I highly suggest joining in on this protest. It’s not just about Valko—it’s about Infold LISTENING to its players.
Finally, and most importantly, do you not see the parallels between Valko and Dragon Sylus? Both reviled and cast aside. Both forced into darkness because of hatred. Both unappreciated and unloved. You would TRULY allow Valko to experience the same fate as our dragon? I can’t even begin to express how disappointed Sylus would be in you.
Hasn’t he always told you to fight? To get stronger? To stand up for yourself and what you love? You’re failing him, miserably. And I mean that.
Edit: AND ANOTHER THING. No one’s forcing you to main Valko. No one’s forcing you to interact with his content WHEN he gets released. But what about the people who genuinely want him there? What about everyone who wants to main him and see his storyline unfold? You’re going to prevent them from getting a character they love?
How would you feel if someone took YOUR main away? I hope you realize that if Valko stays unreleased, they could just as easily remove any of the other LIs. This situation sets a dangerous precedent.
Don’t want to main him? Totally fine. But you do not have the right to keep him from the people that would love him.
Just so cute and sweet, cuddlyumptious and...
WHOA FANGZZZ...
so FOINE...
🫠🫣🤩🥴
I think his brows and lips are the plumpest of all 6 ♨️
please give back valko please please

HE LOOKS SO STUPID I'M MOURNING SO BAD.

pairing: bf!Valko x gn!reader synopsis: you wake up from a nightmare where valko disappeared, leaving you alone. thankfully, he's lying by your side when you wake up... cw: fluff, hurt/comfort ig, petnames, established relationship wc: 1.5k a/n: yes this is my way of coping Valko masterlist (wip!)
Valko was gone.
He had disappeared, seemingly without a trace.
You woke up to an unusually empty and cold bed. So you got up, searching the bathroom instead, calling out to him by the nickname you knew he secretly loved despite acting against it. But he was nowhere to be seen.
You tried calling him or sending him a text, but you couldn’t find his contact in your phone anymore.
So you tried social media, but you couldn't even find his account. Even after looking his username up.
The pit in your stomach only grew deeper and heavier as you rushed out of your bathroom, making your way to your entrance, throwing on the first pair of shoes you could find, grabbing your keys, and leaving. You noted the fact that his boots weren’t at your entrance anymore.
Arriving at his place, you walked up the luxurious modern driveway and pulled out the spare set of keys to his place he’d made for you. But the door didn’t open, or budge. The key didn’t even fit into the lock.
But in your panicked state of denial, you continue forcing the key into the hole, until the door opens from the other side.

“saturday? yeah, i got it. well, tell auntie that we’ll try our best to be there, but i can’t make any promises.”
your eyebrows furrow and your lips morph into a curious pout as you zone in on the tail end of your boyfriend’s phone call. the movie you had been streaming immediately became unimportant with the brief mention of his family claiming your full attention instead.
likely referring to another impromptu get-together that they’re clearly asking for you both to attend, you were itching to learn the details of it over the plot of a film you admittedly had little interest in before you even pressed play. the fact that the volume hadn’t made it past ten should’ve been enough to emphasize its insignificance.
“doesn’t matter to me, but i’ll ask her and see what she thinks.” valko exhales with a hum of approval in acknowledgment to whatever else his cousin was relaying, leaning back and tilting his head so that his temple can rest comfortably against your knee. with the warmth of him against you and the soft caress of his fingers along and around your ankle, little moments like these made you cherish having a man so mindlessly affectionate.
to call your boyfriend clingy was an understatement, but it was something about him that you’d never trade for anything in the world. the moment you welcomed him into your life with open arms and kissed him sweetly when he confidently asked you with the silliest smile to be his girl forever, you knew what kind of relationship it was bound to be.

Tick, tick, tick.
The dull ticking of the courtroom clock droned on and on, each second about as pleasant as the sharp poke of an ice pick kissing your cranium, piercing the soft tissue behind your eyes. It was certainly doing nothing to soothe the migraine blooming in the back of your skull.
With a barely concealed sigh, you lifted your head and gazed out across the quiet courtroom. The bobbing heads of the jury, blank-faced and wide-eyed scribbling notes onto crumpled pads of paper. The judge, a sour-faced man you’d had the displeasure of serving for only one other case, sitting atop the high bench looking for all the world like an ancient wax figure lording over his kingdom of captive subjects. To one side was your client, standing in his little plastic box, expression pained, about as nervous as you’d ever seen a defendant. You gritted your teeth behind your lacquered lips, so much for a poker face. And then of course there was him - the prosecutor, your opposition for all intents and purposes, Higuruma Hiromi.
