Stuck

I was stuck in a creative rut where it was hard for me to go out or even edit photos since I needed something different. Doing the same thing day after day wasn't exactly the problem, the issue was finding inspiration to keep not only myself but my followers wanting more out of me. It kind of sucks since I’m about an hour away from the ocean, and forest but I rarely visit those places. Nothing sucks more than being stuck and not being able to find a way out.

Its been a good month since I’ve been consistent with my Instagram uploads. I also want to switch up my editing style to something that’s more pleasant to the eyes instead of the high clarity and bright colors. I love what I am currently working on and I am currently doing way more of the things That I wanted to do and I am enjoying myself. I feel like if you're not having fun then why do it. I feel like we all need a little break sometimes, some people need a few days, a week, or even about a month like I did.

Sometimes being a creative isn't all fun and games, someone has to be eager enough to get up and go out and do stuff that no one wants to do and get the photos that no one wants to grind for. being yourself is a huge part of doing what I do. I absolutely love it and wouldn't trade my hobbies for anything. I’m obsessed with capturing the best memories for myself and would love to continue on with doing it for years to come. I am most definitely going to be coming out with a 2017 expectations Blog and such but ill be doing that when I figure a couple more things out.

Ever since I was a young kid I've always been a out and about person that will always do a’lot of crazy things with my friends. My dad has always told me to “live your life and do what makes you happy.” That’s exactly what I did and I will never forget that. I live a life that will always make me question what I did in life to have such amazing friends and insanely Memorable Moments.

Wonderlust Is one of the ways that I can look at my life to describe it in the most simplistic way. I’m not that much of a so called 9 to 5 type of person. Otterbox has opened me to some new views that I would have never been able to see without the opportunity. If it wasn't for my friends and the Dope moments that I have with them I wouldn't be inspired to grind as hard as I do. Like my Friend @Johny_Dayvid said on his recent Twitter post “  Don't get it contorted. I'm not hardworking, I'm just extremely inspired.”All of my friends keep me inspired and on my toes to capture the best moments I can.

Golden Hour Project

Whats the very first thing that comes to your mind when you read the words”Golden Hour Project”? perhaps sunsets, and sunrises I hope. Well that’s exactly what it stands for. Its a group of Stockton's creatives that want to use their creative talents to help shine a light and give a new perspective to our city that is currently going through its phases.

So this past summer the group has met up every two weeks and shot photos together to create a coffee table book with amazing and stunning photos of our great little big city Stockton. I was really impressed at the way the photos had turned out in the mock up version of the coffee table book. The full version will be available soon for purchase.

If you were wondering how we are giving back to the community let me start off by saying schools. Yes High schools, we will be giving proceeds and camera equipment to a different school at the end of every season along with a new coffee table book to go along with that past weather season. The first school was Edison High School here in Stockton Ca and it was a great event.

Now lets talk about the GREATNESS of the next season, FALL/WINTER session. :) What goes good with that weather? how about Moody photos huh? yes mood im talking dark tones that will make you feel some type of way. weather its a dark and gloomy Halloween style photo or a insane sunset full of ROYGBIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet ). I am extremely happy with this Project because of its creativity and to be honest I've met some of the greatest people in Stockton or surrounding cities. I would like to show you some photos from the last session and what I've got so far.

The Bonfire

Hmmm, The motha freaking Bonfire YES . Let me start by saying Happy Birthday Alex you're a really cool person and I honestly enjoy your company. So it was a very last minute planned Bonfire that was hilarious and fun. It was literally a couple days in advance I believe but it felt like we couldve done better, wayyyyy better but I feel like the imperfection was the reason I had more fun. I just want to keep this short and brief, Thank you for the invite to let me be apart of the little group of creatives you guys are amazing.

YOU

What is going on guys, its time for me to drop another little Blog about this past event in Stockton Ca. It was a local event for a bunch of local artists and clothing brands. It was being held at the old Empire Theater that has been renovated to a Hip little coffee shop called Empresso. Let me just say that the shop has a 50 Person occupancy and it was well over that 50 mark.

It looked like a really successful turnout. I wasn't expecting the locals to be so involved in the event. So if you were wondering what types of vendors was there , it was a variety of clothing brands and artists. I was there for moral support but it was an insane amount of people that it was overwhelming, but the more the merrier right?

On that night I would just like to say that it was a great time and I had fun with people I will never forget. YOU guys are great and it was a blast.

Landscapes and Fall

Mount Tamalpais was an amazing experience and place to go. Its crazy to know that that’s just one of hundreds of state parks here in California. I never wanted to leave and come back to the reality of a real Job and schedule. If I could be a freelance photographer I 100% and i’d never look back on my life decisions what so ever. If you ever have the chance to go explore somewhere new go for it. Get out of your comfort zone. In December will mark the one year of when I bought my entry level DSLR camera and I have never regretted that decision. The people who are currently in my life are some of the coolest people I have met, the only way to grow in life is to “Get Out

If you would've asked me about a year ago if i’d see myself doing the things that I currently am involved with I would've laughed at you. i’m involved in a Project that’s giving back to Stockton School Arts programs that will give high school students the chance to pick up a camera and enjoy the fun of different perspectives and enjoyment. 

As a group of hungry, creative teens and adults have the chance to give our city a refreshing renowned look. The Golden Hour Project is something that I have a firm belief in especially since I have the chance to show my perspective and creativity in a way that many people don’t see and overlook.

These are just some of the cool people that are apart of the project that has effected me not only in a artistic way but as a person as well. I enjoyed the great scary stories and conversations about horror films. XD. Lets not forget about them Wings though Baby! Today was a day to remember, My brother came into my room and told me that everyone was riding. I knew that was a invite to record them and snap some dope pics of the fun. So I packed my camera bag up with everything I was going to need and headed off. We’ve been talking about getting everyone together to ride so that I can get some practice in With recording action sports and such so this was indeed the perfect timing, and I didn't regret a simple moment of it. When we got to location one, we met up with 4 riders when were ready to go, with my camera in hand I started snapping away and remembered that I needed to work on my Cinematography instead of still so I plopped my beginners Nikon d3200 into Video mode and shot away. It was at this moment that everyone decided to stop and get together talk about the old days (Which was about 4 months ago). after their little talk I started to shoot again, I ended up getting some decent shot then shortly after one more person tagged along and we decided to migrate to a different are at which they have a track set up. On this track I had a vision, I had it all planned out in my head and seemed like nothing could go wrong, (The only thing that went wrong was the fact that My Lenses weren't wide enough and I got into a crash, yep). in all honestly I was riding a little bike and it was fun, I enjoyed myself and it was a good time. Stockton Ca, has gotten a a new Creation added to its downtown area. Its a new and refreshing look it is, and it’ll bring alot of really nice photos in the years to come.
