An entire building has been leased to contain the “You can’t make this shit up” files, and from there it will probably expand to a city block before we are through with Comrade Cheeto. Here’s Trump, with his best game show host persona, managing to defecate all over the legend of the King, right there in his own birthplace of Tupelo, Mississippi, as he brags about giving Elvis the Medal of Freedom and, incredibly, compares himself to Elvis. Yeah, Donald, all the young girls used to wet their pants and faint, so totally under your thrall that they were. Now you know Trump’s secret fantasy. It was never to be president, it was to be a rock star. President is the consolation prize. The men in the white coats should be along anytime now. Let’s just hope somebody stashed the nuclear codes inside a box of Cracker Jack or anyplace safe. To receive articles of mine not published elsewhere become a patron on Patreon. You know, Der Gropinfuror really should stop calling it a “witch hunt.” At last check, small as it is, Trump still had a teenie-weenie, so he really should be referring to Mueller’s investigation as a “warlock hunt.” There’s no doubt about it, Robert Mueller is the #12 reason for soaked bed sheets in the Presidential bedroom, following incontinence. And I don’t blame Trump one little bit. After all, if Ruday Fhouliani and Jay Suckulow were my last line of defense against Robert Mueller, I’d be scared shitless too. But believe it or not, there is one person in Washington DC who is even more terrified of Robert Mueller than The Cheeto Prophet is. And that man is Mitch McConnell, Trump’s last, best chance of getting out of this mess with his ass unscathed. In McConnell’s case, it is perfectly admissible for him to use the phrase “witch hunt.” And that’s because, starting on January 3rd, Nancy Pelosi is going to be leading the coven, and that woman has one mean ass broomstick. Not only does McConnell no longer have a complaint co-conspirator leading the House, what he has instead is an opponent who knows the game and arcane rules every bit as well as he does, and she has a largely unified caucus behind her. “Bubble, bubble, toila d trouble,” asshole. The real problem for McConnell isn’t just that the Democratic led House committees are going to be holding fair, honest investigations, it’s that the ungrateful little bastards are going to hold them publicly. And it won’t be just Trump-Russia either, they’re going to be digging into Trump’s emoluments clause violations, Jared’s financial ties to the middle east, Trump’s ties to Saudi Arabia, Ivanka’s sweetheart patent deals with China, the list goes on and on. and Democratic House committee members will be overjoyed to go on CNN and MSNBC, and explain what it means to the rest of us in simple, easy to grasp terms.Which sucks for McConnell, because while, our bombastic rhetoric about “family values” notwithstanding, Americans have always been rather ambivalent about their President getting a little on the side, we still tend to draw the line at our President selling out the country to stuff his pockets. The 2018 midterms were McConnell’s worst case of night terrors, because of what it portends for 2020. Nevermind the House debacle, McConnell has worse smelling fish to fry. The Democrats posted record turnout numbers nationwide in a midterm, and thrashed the GOP by some 8 million votes. They flipped seven Governorships in 2018, including ruby red Kansas, putting upward pressure on any GOP incumbents running in those states. Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are now blue states again, and North Carolina, Georgia and Texas are not going to be the walkovers they once were. The biggest problem GOP Senate incumbents face in 2020 is whether it’s worse to piss Trump off, and have him back a primary challenger from the right, or let him come and campaign for you, especially in states with large urban areas with adjoining former GOP suburban strongholds. Look, the GOP was solidly behind Nixon, right up to the point where it became untenable to do so. Forget about Trump-Russia for a minute. Trump is not only dishonest enough, he is sloppy enough to have left the democrats in the House a cornucopia …

Donald Trump acted out badly the day after the midterm elections. His firing of Jeff Sessions was not his most brilliant moment. Plus, Trump won’t have his lap dog, Devin Nunes, running interference for him as Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. Adam Schiff is in charge and Trump is going to find out what the word “oversight” means. He’s had a very cushy two years with a unified government at his beck and call. Now he’s going to find out what politics is really about. To receive articles of mine not published elsewhere become a patron on Patreon. Please follow me on Twitter @ursulafaw56

America is at a crossroads. We are more divided right now than we have been at any time since the Civil War. Since the election of Donald Trump, the level of dissent and division in this nation has reached levels heretofore unseen in anyone’s lifetime. Relatives are not speaking to relatives, friends have parted ways, some marriages even have gone asunder over the rift in the identity of this nation. As Barack Obama put it, “Trump is not the cause, he is the symptom.” Some call it a clash of cultural values, but in truth it goes way deeper than that and is more fundamental. The issue is, who are we really? Who is America in 2018? On one side of the cultural war, is Donald Trump the Charon of lies. Fox News is his River Styx, upon which he blithely sails, bolstered up and intensified by on-air personalities who co-sign on all of his lies, allowing him to sail the members of his cult straight to Hell and they don’t even know it’s happening. They think he’s telling the truth. The truth his cult thinks he is telling is that he’s the Great White Hope come to save white Christian America from doom by the Other. The “truth” that he is in fact telling is a mishmash hogwash of conspiracy theory, divisiveness, and dishonesty, over 6,000 lies since in office, according to the Washington Post, and all his lies are calculated to inculcate fear, and incite hatred, racial and otherwise. Never has this been so apparent and so blatant as in the last few weeks in the run up to this election. Editorial Board, Washington Post: The president of the United States, campaigning on behalf of the Republican Party, is, in effect, betting heavily that voters can be swayed by appeals to their worst instincts: anger, hatred and fear. Contrary to the practice of all previous recent occupants of his office — including those who might have dabbled in similar politics but, at least, employed euphemisms and intermediaries — he has delivered this divisive message in his own voice from his own bully pulpit. Mr. Trump thus seeks not to soothe a troubled populace but to exploit its anxiety. It certainly is a bold gambit. His first goal, albeit unstated, is to finalize his capture of the Republican Party by showing that his incendiary brand of politics works. Conversely, his second, and broader objective, is to demonstrate that his opponents’ insistence upon more decent political discourse does not work. He wants to sail us all to Hell, and indeed, no single person or single factor in the history of this nation has had a more corrosive effect upon our national discourse than Donald Trump. His effect on his own party has been to make the GOP the caricature that the left always said it was, i.e. a party of old white men, and beyond that he has created a schism within the party, between traditional Republicans whose party ostensibly once stood for free markets and fiscal conservatism, and which now stands for unabashed racism. Conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin said in her November 1 column in the Washington Post that the blatantly racist ad showing an illegal immigrant bragging about being a cop killer, which CNN refused to air, “is …
The GOP is running scared on this one, whew, oh doggies! Heaven forfend Stacey Abrams should prevail. This ad eclipses Willy Horton. Willy Horton was sane and measured by today’s Trumpian standards. This is vile. And of course mixed up in the anti-black dogma is the usual anti-Semitic crack. And It’s no dog whistle, air raid siren is more like it. Brian Kemp is framing his race, “literally a fight for our nation.” And Mike Pence went down to Georgia, because the Devil was busy, we guess, and he amplified GOP conspiracy theory, because what other ammunition does he have? Atlanta Journal: Democrat Stacey Abrams, Pence said, is being “bankrolled by Hollywood liberals” and holds views that are outside the mainstream on issues from health care to immigration. “It’s going to be a choice between a proven, commonsense, conservative leader in Brian Kemp or the failed liberal assistance agenda of Stacey Abrams,” he said. If Mike Pence had his way, he’d be in the big house drinking mint juleps and Stacey Abrams would be picking cotton, but then you knew that. And poor Mike Pence, he was apparently feeling intimidated by the likes of Will Ferrell, Michael B. Jordan, and Oprah Winfrey showing up to knock on doors to GOTV for Abrams. Bwahahahahahaahahahaha! I guess that’s what you say to a candidate when he’s devastated by the star power his opponent has supporting her and you need to reassure him, and yourself, that vanilla wafer, faux Kristian, gay basher Mike Pence is really such a much as well. Oh.My.God. What is Pence going to do next, don black face and a straw hat and give us a minstrel show? This race is bloody coming into the home stretch. As of last night Abrams and Kemp were polled as within 2/10s of a point apart, with Abrams having the slight edge. Tuesday is going to be epic for a lot of reasons, and this race is most assuredly one. That’s the night that the lights go out for Brian Kemp. Well, the morally inexcusable Sarah Huckabee Sanders certainly was a bird of ruffled plumage today. One would think that when she was conducting her first press briefing in 3 weeks, she’d be well rested, and ready to play the game. But no, not the Nurse Ratchett of press secretaries. Rather predictably, the topic of questioning almost immediately turned to the President’s rhetoric as related to the Trumpaholic pipe bomber, and the bigoted Pittsburgh synagogue shooter. Her response was pure, unadulterated Trump bullshit; “It’s as ridiculous to say that the President is to blame for the actions of the pipe bomber as it would be to say that Bernie Sanders was responsible for the person who shot Steve Scalise.” Actually, that’s true, but it also wasn’t what was asked. The question wasn’t whether or not Trump had called these two idjits up and told them to do it, it was about the influence of his rhetoric on these two morally and mentally defective losers. And naturally, being the clueless twit that she is, she immediately turned around and “blamed” the media, for their “fake news” coverage of Trump. I don’t get it. If Trump’s words can’t incite violence, how can the words of the “fake” media? This is the Trump media playbook, stripped to its core. Whenever anything happens, find somebody, anybody else to blame. A cat 4 hurricane knocks out power to the entire island of Puerto Rico? Blame it on the stupid Puerto Rican power company for not having hurricane proofed their antiquated, shitty power grid. Farmers lose millions in revenue from Chinese imposed tariffs? Blame the stupid Chinese for having been such dicks as to dare to respond to the tariffs that Trump put on them first. Victim, thy name is Trump. But it’s also a con, and one that we cannot allow them to get away with. The “blame game” is to Trump what the ink sac is to the octopus, it’s a way of muddying the waters while Trump escapes to safety. The questions that are being lobbed at the White House like hand grenades are not about whether or not Trump is to blame for these incidents. They are about another word entirely, R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y. And that’s the word that Trump and Flackabee Slanders can’t tolerate, because they can’t rebut it. Slanders is fond of remarking that “When the President feels that he has been unfairly treated, he is going to hit back.” Well, guess what Blarah? Actions aren’t the only things that come with consequences, so do reactions. When the President of the United States feels that he has been unjustly criticized in an article, and then calls the members of the press “the enemies of the people,” and theatrically points them out at the back of the room, restrained in a roped off area, to a mob of drooling, frenzied half wits, and after the rally, one of his less tightly wrapped supporters punches out a reporter, the President is blameless for setting the table because the press “started it?” It’s ridiculous on the face of it. Look. If I insult some guy’s girlfriend in a bar, and he bops me in the snoot in the parking lot, if my response is to whack him over the head with a brick, I’m gonna have a kind of a …
There is no doubt about it, these are dark times. We have a Trumpaholic driving a 2015 Chevy Scrapbook around, mailing off pipe bombs, another asylum escapee who thinks that HIAS is bankrolling an invasion force of unarmed, impoverished, footsore army of Honduran women and children, and to top it all off, a loud mouthed …
