â give it â
âGive what, exactly?â
SALLYâS CO-WORKER WAS ASTONISHED, and opted to leave them alone for a little bit. ââI was! I was until recently!â Sally confirmed, nodding her head. âI just moved up here with my boyfriend. He got â he got a job up here, so I just followed along. LA was pulling me back, anyway.â Now, what was she supposed to say his job WAS if asked? Because she couldnât tell Simba the truth â no way. He couldnât know Mike was FBI, and he couldnât know that how they met was because Sally got into trouble. No way. She wasnât risking Mikeâs job like that.
âWhat have you been up to?â
âFair enough,â Simba said grinning. He could understand that - his life in LA was as dangerous, seedy and exhilarating, but if heâd stayed there heâd have wasted away. Simba breathed a long sigh and scratched the back of his neck when she asked him what heâd been up to.
âThatâs a bit of a loaded question,â Simba answered with a slightly uncomfortable laugh. âAfter I left LA myself, a couple months after we -â he cleared his throat a little bit and shrugged â- after we broke up, me and my buddies we just kinda roamed the South again. And then - well, long story short my past caught up with me and I eventually ended up back here. Been living here for fifteen years now?âÂ

[ love u long time bb ]
[ i could use a simba to cuddle with tbh - why canât docile talking lions exist in real life???? ]
[ just to be clear Iâm not leaving because this fuzzy doof wonât ever let me go probably but I think, for the year of 2016, I do have to prioritize my mental health because Iâve been ignoring the fuck out of it this year ]
PSA: [ mrph. I really havenât be on as much as Iâd like to be. In all honesty, at this point itâs less about time and more about ... I just donât feel like it? I know that sounds really bad and it has nothing to do with losing muse, my muse is actually really strong but for a while now Iâve been dealing with some pretty nasty thoughts and feelings which I attribute to my anxiety. I donât know whatâs causing it but all I know is RPing isnât helping all that much. ]
[ iâm sorry i keep making excuses, Iâm sorry my activity is so unpredictable, that Iâm fine and active one day and then Iâm not on for days or weeks at a time ]
[ im just not feeling good right about now. and I need to focus on fixing that ]
[ i love you all and I hope you have a wonderful new years whether that means a party, spending it with a few close friends or at home in your pjs watching a movie - have a great one and see you in the new year ]
[ In other news, thereâs a weird scratching noise coming from the trapdoor in the roof of my closet that leads to the attic and I. Am. Terrified. ]
[ I disappear for a couple of days and come straight back with lion king meta because thatâs how rina rolls folks ]
[ okay but real talk: nala. Letâs talk about her for a second. I noticed the fandom tends to give her what I like to call âmove-Hermione complexâ - they make her absolutely flawless. And this I think does a huge disservice to her character. Making out any character to be absolutely perfect does them a disservice - their flaws is what makes them a spectacular character. Nala is brave, fierce, witty and good-hearted - but sheâs also headstrong, stubborn and very wrapped up in her own morals. Naturally because of the injustice she, her kind and everyone in the Pridelands suffered at the hands of Scar (hell even the Hyenas suffered eventually) she developed a very black and white view of morality, a strong sense of right and wrong. This is most seen when sheâs lecturing Simba about why he hasnât gone back to Pride rock yet; this is a crucial moment and Simba needed to hear it, but I canât help but feel like Nala was very callous about the subject. It didnât seem to cross her mind that the subject of Mufasaâs death and the location of where it happened would be a sore subject for Simba and that it might not be as easy for him to imagine going back as it was for her. And her comment, âGood, at least one of us doesâ in terms of her sounding like Mufasa really does sting. It was necessary but I donât blame Simba for snapping ]
[ Now this isnât entirely Nalaâs fault of course, she has no idea that Simba actually WITNESSED Mufasaâs death and that his uncle put the idea into his head that it was somehow his fault. She has no idea the extent of which that event traumatized Simba and that the idea of going back, for him, was next to impossible. And to her credit she did try to get him to help her understand his situation - âI would if youâd just tell me!â - but Simba shuts her down, which was a bad move on his part. ]
[ I think this strong sense of justice Nala has is such a important part of her character and it affects almost everything she does: openly defying Scarâ advances (not shown in the movie but canon nevertheless) lecturing Simba about his responsibilities regardless of how it might hurt him, running home after him and instantly standing by his side, being the FIRST lioness to join the fight, ahead of Simbaâs own mother, literally everything. And not accentuating that side of her loses so much of who she is ]
[ WHICH IS WHY in the second movie she seems so unlike herself, sheâs so wishy-washy and on the fence. Honestly, I think canon Nala would be far more fierce about the Outsiders - she sure as hell would not have been peachy keen with a young lion raised by their known enemies suddenly turning over a new leaf and joining their pride. After all sheâs suffered, she would not trust that easily. Outwardly agressive like Simba, she probably wouldnât be but I think she would have been far more wary of Kovu than the movie showed ]
[ So yeah. Nala is a fucking badass flaws and all. Love her to bits. The End ]Â
[ MERRY CHRISTMAS!! ]
[ I hope youâre all having a FANTASTIC day that you all deserve! Much love! ]
HER CO-WORKER? She was upset that Sally didnât know this man. Sally received a hit on the arm because Sally should be getting familiar with big potential clients. And Sally knew, without her co-worker saying anything, what that smack must have meant, but before she could defend herself, Sallyâs eyes widened. She knew EXACTLY who this was. ââSimba?!â She exclaimed. âItâs Sally! Sally Carrera?â She wore a large smile all of the sudden, not being able to believe this.
It had been so long! Sally hadnât seen him in YEARS. They had broken up so long ago, and Sally had changed quite a bit. Shorter hair, more expensive clothes, actual genuine happiness â that was the newest. ââI canât believe itâs you!â
For a moment Simba looked bewildered and then finally, all the cogs seemed to fall into place in his mind. Of course it was Sally, how had he not seen it? She didnât even look all that different except for a change in hair and fashion. He grinned broadly back.
âNo way!â he said with a laugh, âI canât believe it either - what are you doing all the way over here in New York? Werenât you in LA?â Well, at least, that was the last time heâd ever saw her, over fifteen years ago.Â
âWell of course, but I thought that was a given ââ Sally is just getting a tour of the law firm. She had just been hired, actually taking this job over one that would have been bigger. But this firm was smaller, and it had more of a family-like atmosphere. As well as a law firm could, anyway. Sally was walking beside a senior-partner, discussing current clients that need to be transferred and a million other things that need to be discussed. She gets to go home early today, though, since this is basically an orientation.
That was when she stopped dead in her tracks. She looked over at this man in front of her, immediately holding out her hand. âHelloââ She said with a bright smile. âIâm sorry, but âŠyou look very familiar. Have we met?â
Simba looked over at the woman speaking to him and instantly he felt something akin to deja vu.  Heâd definitely seen her before, but when? Somehow he felt like an idiot for not knowing. Then again he was running on three hours of sleep - on a good day.
âYou know, I think we have?â Simba admitted, accepting her hand with a smile that he hoped masked his sheer exhaustion. âYouâll have to forgive me, I often forget if Iâve even eaten these days - Iâm Simba Nguvu?âÂ
@cxrreraâ
Fifteen years later and Simba was still dealing with legal ramification and general bullshittery from when Scar ran the bank. It seemed like when one thing was resolved, some other hidden issue cropped up and had to be dealt, like some sort of stubborn mould. Christ. Even dead the bastard still managed to be a complete pain in Simbaâs ass. His previous lawyer had quit citing medical issues and Simba was left to go on the hunt for a new attorney. One of his clients recommended a law firm that had helped him out with a nasty custody battle with his ex-wife. Simba really had nothing to lose by going and checking them out.
[ GUESS WHO FINISHED HER EXAMS? ]
