Okay, fine. I've been gone and I haven't really made music last month because of work (shamelessly plugging: http://wearemovingthings.com ).
Not saying that I'll be posting shit music from now on, I'm simply determined to post as much music as I want, without any correlation to any previous or future tracks. Music is music!
And so, here starts my adventures in sound, in wasted time and space. Look at that snazzy pink circle thing!
Check Mayu Ferrer's art out! She made the cover art and she has more awesome art in her blog: http://holykamote.tumblr.com/

--- It's been a while since I've released stuff. School has taken my brain away.
7 Months ago, Deane, JP, and I were inspired by Improv Everywhere's MP3 Experiments and decided to try and copy the concept in our campus. And today, We finally found the time to edit the video. Feel free to spread it around. Enjoy! :)

DIY or DIE: An Experimental Art Book from Reese Lansangan on Vimeo.
There is a white shirt. There is the world. Go make something. DIY or DIE is an experimental art book that curates how different people reinterpret the basic white shirt when presented as a wearable medium for self-expression. The project strives to establish the idea of creativity as innate, and aims to unravel the external factors that contribute to the creative process, such as time constraints, workplace, materials, medium and the environment. A website will be in the works sometime this year. In this video, we put our stop motion-ing skills to the test. Our goal was to make the whole process clean and neat. Was it? I don't think so.
But what I had fun with here was the part where I had to sample my own beatboxing sounds, since the beatboxing samples I got didn't have some sounds I needed. 'Twas fun though! :)
The soundtrack for this movie was one of the most challenging things I have done with my laptop. Most of my friends know that I barely know how to play the piano, but for some reason it's always connected to the laptop now. Who knew I'd learn how to play the piano because of this score. I am so thankful for the time given to me to get the right mix and arrangement that makes it somewhat cohesive with the film. The first prototypes were bad, and quite poppy, and It somewhat ruined the epic cinematography. Even though this soundtrack sounds like a Mogwai song (my best friend pointed it out, thank you), I'm really glad I learned a lot in the process.
I always enjoy making music, especially when I learn something because of the process. I hope I never stop learning shiz when producing things.
Good night!
