Hi! So I came across this interesting blog. I understand that you are also learning Kanji, but if you do know, please confirm that this: 自由な心 means "free heart".
Thanks for your question!
Sorry for late response, anyway here's my answer.
First, the dictionary meaning of “自由な心” is “Free Mind”. Second, for the literal meaning of 自由な心 (じゆうなこころ) is “Heart of Freedom”. (Seems odd, right? haha..) The reason is this かんじ、自由(じゆう)in Chinese meaning Freedom, and I suppose this is a なーadjective and the last character 心(こころ) in Chinese meaning Heart.
I hope this helps! If anyone who has a better meaning please let me know. Thanks.
This set of Kanjis are from the book of Glen Nolan Grant (Learning Japanese Kanji). Here i write the ON reading on the image and the KUN reading on the caption of the image. Hope this helps!
