A.C.R.O.N.Y.M - Teeth of the Sea
And then, sometimes, the world opens up and your heart leaps from your chest and you can't stop smiling at everything there is - the sky, the morning, the people on the bus, the sheer unexpectedness of things.
And you wonder how on earth other people can drop such happiness into your world, that you thought was quite lovely already, and hope hope hope that you bring the same to them
Wash My Feet in the Waves - Chuck Ragan
'It's high time to carry on And march to my own drum Kick the dust up, son And wear the soles down some'
Some lyrics so perfectly capture what your thoughts couldn't catch. I love the sadness in this song - it seems a lonely road at times, but you just can't help carrying on, going forward.
There are times when Mr Ragan is the only fella I can listen to - something about the wandering spirit, loving and lonely and seeking something simple and vast, the camaraderie of man, the happiness found in growing and helping. It's so familiar and his singing is so raw and heartfelt.
In the whole history of me, there's only been two men who've made me say 'I would marry this man and have babies with him,' and Chuck Ragan is one of them.
Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart. One who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.
Marvin J. Ashton
I would like to request a companion to do this with me. Ready for an adventure?
I spent a month travelling through the Inside Passage, Haida Gwaii, north western BC and the north end of Vancouver Island a while back. This is so close to my heart, I ache to be out there again, miserable, joyful, cold, hungry, tired, amazed, and so so happy.
In honour of the start to the Canucks game on the weekend.
Every picture of my sisters and I ever taken.
