Kimberly Street @ Four ‘Kings’ of food
Kimberley Street or Lebuh Kimberley is a nice place to have some Penang local foods at night. The wide variety of delicious street foods have attracted many tourists and locals to be there every night. Every day from 4 p.m. onwards, the crossroads where Lebuh Kimberley intersects with Jalan Sungai Ujong and Lebuh Cintra comes alive with the opening of hawker stalls ready to cook and serve for the night.
In this street alone there are four ‘Kings’ of food, a title given to the hawkers by some TV show. The Four Heavenly Kings are Char Koay Teow stall in front of Sin Guat Keong Coffee Shop, Sky Emperor Koay Teow Soup, Kway Chap and Tong Shui. .Let’s go through them one by one.
1. Duck Kway Chap (also known as Kuey Chap)
The first recommendation is Duck Kway Chap at Restoran Kimberly. It is easily to be found as it would be accompanied by a long line of customers seen waiting to order their food. It is thus advisable to arrive early.
Just by looking at the crowd, one can tell how delicious the Kuey Chap is.
You can choose to have everything or just the pork and duck meat if you are not used to eating pig ear, pig tongue, pig innards (including intestines and livers). You can also choose porridge instead of the broad rice flour noodle.
My bowl of duck Kway Chap, which includes pig ear, pig tongue, pig innards such as intestines, tender sliced duck meat and braised egg. The chili sauce is good taste and the soup is very flavorful indeed. This has officially become one of my must try food in Penang.
Each bowl costs cost around RM8 or above (depending on the ingredient you choose)

This stall in front of the Sin Guat Keong Coffee Shop is well known for its char koay teow, which has mantis prawns added into it. A generous amount of mantis prawns, normal prawns and fried egg are served in the dish. Also, the employment of bean sprouts and chives add a nice textural contrast to the greasy yet tasty dish. It is sold at RM3.50 and RM4.30.

Business Hour: from 05:30pm to 12:00am (closed on Wednesday)
As with most hawker stall centres in Penang, it would not be complete without the ones selling the Chinese desert. We recommend you to try tong shui at Restoran Traditional Home of Dessert At Kimberley Street.
The popular and fast-selling Tong Shui, Almond Milk. It is strongly recommended the almond milk is best eaten with the crunchy 'you char kuay'. Friendly reminder: the almond milk is usually sold out after 9 pm. The milk filled with gingko nuts and crullers are sold together at RM5.60.
Another dessert we recommend to try is their Shi Gua Thng. Each bowl cost RM3.50

4. Sky Emperor Koay Teow Soup
The Kimberley Street Chicken Feet Koay Teow Thng also known as Sky Emperor Chicken Feet Koay Teow Thng is one of the famous koay teow thng stalls in Penang. Although the main dish here is koay teow thng, the star item are its braised chicken feet and braised chicken thigh/wing. It also sells braised hard-boiled eggs and braised intestines.
A bowl of koay teow thng consists of koay teow, lean pork, chicken’s liver, fish balls, fried shallots and chopped spring onions. (source from penang-traveltips)
Their braised chicken feet is the star here.
The braised egg and braised drumstick looks delicious.
