Make a paper chain
Do a really ugly drawing. (Use ugly subject matter; gum, poo, dead things, a badly drawn bird, mold, barf, crud).
Iām very ugly, So donāt try to convince me that, I am a very beautiful person, Because at the end of the day, I hate myself in every single way, And Iām not going to lie to myself by saying, There is beauty inside me that matters, So rest assured I will remind myself, That I am a worthless, terrible person, And nothing you say will make me believe, I still deserve love, Because no matter what, I am not good enough to be loved, And I am in no position to believe that, Beauty does exist with me, Because whenever I look in the mirror, I always think, āAm I as ugly as people say?ā (NOW READ BOTTOM UP)
Not for nothing guys, but I donāt actually think these things about myself (god, I sound so big headed - Iām not I promise!!)Ā I just thought that it worked well for this page!!
Climb up high. Drop the journal.
āWhen everything feels like an uphill struggle - just think of the view from the top!!ā - Unknown.
Pick up the Journal without using your hands.
Hi guys!! If anyone is still here, I apologise for my absence!! I have been busy since Iāve been gone - Iāve completed my Wreck This Journal now and am almost half way through my Create This Book by Moriah Elizabeth!! I have been sharing these pages over on my Instagram (@letuswreck if anyone is interested), and since then I have neglected to post here. Iām hopefully going to rectify that and slowly add my pages here once more!! Stay tuned!!
Cover this page using only office supplies
This page was SO fun to do!!!!
I only recently discovered White Collar and instantly fell in love!! So, of course I had to dedicate a page of my Wreck This Journal to this amazing show!! However, finding the right page to do this on took time, as it had to be the perfect page. And then, I caught an idea of using a notice board for this page, and the idea blossomed from there!!
I made the noticeboard with some cork and blue felt to give it a nice feel (and to base it off the noticeboard next to Nealās desk in the White Collar department). Then it was gathering information and pictures to use asĀ āevidenceā and putting it all together like a case!! I even made a mini āJames Bondsā file like the one from the show!! And of course, we couldnāt forget a little nod towards our favourite suit!!Ā
Look closely and you may be able to spot another Wanted FBI poster from another favourite show of mine!! ;)
This is ridiculously fiddly!! Any guesses to which page Iām working on??!! šš
Infuse this page with a smell of your choice.
āYou have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way!!ā - Lady Gaga
Such a simple page, but effective. I visited Madame Tussauds in Blackpool a little while ago and stumbled across this beauty!! I have been saving my Lady Gaga - Fame perfume for this page and having this picture of myself with the Lady Gaga wax figure was the icing on the cake!! I had some Polaroid-type scrapbook photo frames and just had to print the picture out and write the quote at the bottom!!
I attempted to copy the logo of the Lady Gaga - Fame perfume, but it didnāt turn out completely great and is a bit off centre. Nevertheless I am really pleased with this page!!
Compost this page. Watch it deteriorate.
āHave you heard of the girl, with the sun on her skin, Who can make flowers grow with her light from within? She runs through the world, leaving life in her wake, With blossoms all lining the path that she takes. She must be shy, for sheās never been seen, But sheās what paints the grass a rich shade of green. Iāve heard people say that thereās dew in her veins, That whenever sheās hurting or lonely, it rains. And if you listen on nights that are early in spring, You might here her voice as she sings.ā - E.H
I really struggled with what to do with this page!! I had seen loads of great ideas, but none of them were something I wanted to do!! And I didnāt actually want to rip the page out and compost it!!
And then one day I came across a lovely flower colouring. I coloured it, cut it out and the cut it in half so that it would stick into the middle of the page easier. I found the lovely poem about Mother Nature online and wrote it on some laminate sheets before sticking them in over the drawing. The theme flowers and Mother Nature going along with the composting part of this page!!
(Also I hope that it was obviously mother nature being described in the poem... I asked a few people and they had to be told who the poem was about.)
Hereās wishing all my followers a very happy new year!! May 2019 be your year!!
Keep your eyes peeled, more Wrecking coming your way in 2019!!
Document the colours of your dinner. Rub, smear, splatter your food. Use this page as a napkin.
TRICK OR TREAT!!!!
This is a page that is in the original WTJ as well, but in my colour version itās slightly different. The original WTJ just asks you to document your dinner, the colour version asks you to document the colourĀ of your dinner.
Iāve always known what I wanted to do for this page, but I had to wait for the specific day to come around. And so when All Hallows Eve (more commonly known as Halloween) finally arrived, I was ecstatic!!
When I was younger we rarely went Trick or Treating. I did go a few times, but it very quickly lost its appeal for me because we started having a small family Halloween party instead!! We would deck the house in black and orange, in spiders and ghosts and zombies, among other things!! My dad would cook up a feast and weād rock out to scary music all night. The food my Dad cooks for our Halloween feast is always super colourful and so I knew that I had to use this feast to document the colour of my dinner.
When it came to it though, I forgot!! *face-palms*. Nevertheless I remembered in time for the cakes and treats!! And Iām glad I did!! The cakes were by far the most colourful part of our meal and I managed to snap these pictures before they were gobbled up!!
I did notĀ use the page as a napkin, although I did have a Halloween napkin all saved and ready to be used for this page, but in the end I couldnāt fit it in anywhere and had to bypass that. In my defence though, the cakes are all sat on said napkin so it did make it onto the page, but in a different way than planned.
TheĀ āTrick or Treatā bunting took forever to make, if youāll believe it!! It was SO fiddly, but Iām pleased with the effect of it!! The words are written with red chalk pen, and made to look like blood is dripping from them, although Iām not sure how effective it actually is.Ā
The curtain-like affect that is included in the page was NOT planned. But I went to Hobbycraft and they had it on sale and I just fell in love. I wasnāt planning on using it in my WTJ, but it just sorta happened. I had to glue gun it in as itās got thin wire rubbing down each side, but I absolutely love the simple, spooky-affect it gives the page!!

Cut Slits* Like Lucio Fontana
The best view comes after the hardest climb - Unknown.
I hope Iām not alone when I say that I had to google who Lucio Fontana is!! (Iām not great with artists, even though I love their works and find a lot of it really inspirational). Mr Fontanaās work looks simple and was easy enough to recreate, with my craft knife.
The quote that I included in this page is something that means a lot to me, and Iām sure many of you can relate!!
1. Fold this page several times. 2. Make cuts with scissors. 3. Unfold.
This page was quick and simple to do. I tried folding it like a snowflake as best I could, but as you can imagine, with the page still stuck in the book that was quite difficult. Still, I folded the page several times, snipped pieces away and unfolded. Itās nothing too extravagant, but very pretty I think.
Cover this page in tape. (Create some kind of pattern)
I believe this was the second page I completed in my journal. It was quite simple really, I have tonnes of washi tape so just used this to cover the page. I didnāt exactly do a pattern as such, like Iāve seen otherās do... but I wanted to get as many different tapes on the page as I could!!
Stain log
AND
Figure out a way to attach these two pages together
āDonāt open. Dead inside.ā - The Walking Dead (TV series)
The idea of these pages didnāt come to me straight away. I knew I wanted to attach the pages together using a button. The idea was originally toĀ āsewā the button onto the page and have it so that it would open and close up like a button on a coat. However, I was worried about how it would affect the pages, and I had a flue gun on hand that did the job just as well - I added some string too so that it can be looped shut; hense the two pages have been attached. This however was the last thing that I did to the pages.
Originally these two pages were only going to be literally connected, but were not going to have anything to do with each other in terms of art. But then it hit me (not literally, thank goodness)!! Opening the two pages after theyāve beenĀ ālockedā together is like opening a door!! And I didnāt know what to do for the Stain Log until I figured - blood stains.
So I painted my hands red and dragged them down the Stain Log page. It didnāt exactly work like Iād planned, but I think itās still obvious what itās supposed to be!! Then I printed, cut and stuck in the famous quote (I love reading itĀ āDonāt dead, open insideā but then, donāt we all!!)
On the page inside I had to put a Zombie, or a Walker. I attempted to make them pop up on the page underneath, but that too didnāt work as planned - still itās rises from the page and Iām quite happy with it.
The whole idea of this page is supposed to make it seem like youāre opening the door and finding a Walker inside!! While many things didnāt exactly go to plan with this page, just the idea of it and the look of it makes it one of my favourite pages!!
Work only with colours you HATE!
āThey hate us cause they aināt us!ā - The Interview (2014)
This page was SO fun to do!!
Iām going to admit that Iāve never seen the movieĀ āThe Interviewā, but I found this quote when I was searching for one. When I did find it, I knew it was perfect!!
All I did was take out the coloured pens that I rarely use from my favourite set of pens. If Iām honest, 4 out of the 5 pens used on this page were being used for the very first time!!
(Also - DISCLAIMER: The top colour is a veryĀ dark blue... itās not black! I use my black so much that Iāve had to replace it multiple times!!)
