wait, don’t tell me; heaven is a place on earth
The brunette let a low chuckle slip passed her lips, shaking her head very slightly before returning the eye contact boldly. “I couldn’t forget you if I tired; not with a cute face like that…” Her voiced dropped to a some what seductive whisper as she flashed a cheeky smirk. “Or a body like that.”
Levi laughed quietly, his own smirk finding its way over his lips. “It’s all partially still yours,” he said, leaning down and whispering into her ear. “Just like how you’re still partially mine-- whether you approve of it or not.”

Jay refused to come across as intimidated or bow down to him towering over her, standing so close. So, she stood her ground and didn’t even flinch. “You know me, Levi, trouble seems to follow me whether I go looking for it or not… Now if you’re too scared?..”
He couldn’t stop the chuckle that sluggishly slipped through his lips, tucking a stray lock of the girl’s hair behind her ear as he gazed down at her. Levi wasn’t aiming to intimidate the brunette in any way, but to tower over her in which it was somewhat a gesture of protection - his protection. “Me? Scared? Have you forgotten who I am since you left?”
The brunette gave a small shrug; she hadn’t thought it through properly, but when it came to her, she was always on some adventure and when it came to dragging Levi along with her, more trouble seemed to follow. “A bar, a club or something. I don’t know, I’m just gonna get you drunk.”
He took this opportunity to advance on the girl, towering over her petite frame. “What makes you think I’m going to let you get me drunk?” Levi asked with a faint sly smile. “You know how out-of-hand we get when we’re hammered. Do you really want us to get into trouble?”
Jay rolled her eyes effortlessly, but with his follow-up question, she was partially expecting it. She simply looked up at him through her eyelashes with a completely blank expression, hesitating before responding. “Let’s go out tonight.” She requested, ignoring the question and flashing him a small, breezy smile.
He chewed on the inside of his cheek, some part of him knowing that she was going to avoid his question by asking another that was obviously completely off topic. Instead of giving her a spoken answer, Levi nodded in agreement, raising a quick thumb up. He needed to go out. He’d been indoors for far too long now. “Where to? Just so I can look appropriate for the occasion.”
Jayde saw right through him, as usual, but her smile did fade when he spoke, nonetheless. Provoking the inevitable jealously from him seemed to be on her mind quite often; just like now. “If you missed me, you only need to say it.” She teased, despite how obviously she wanted him to admit it.
He shook his head, crossing his arms across his chest. “Don’t flatter yourself, Jayden. If I missed you, I’d have said so,” Levi lied. Some part of him wanted to confess how he truly felt, but the other part - the dark part - liked the emotional pain that came with this situation. It’d be a joke if one said Levi was normal. “Did you miss me?” he asked, voice low.
“Miami.” She stated with a sweet smile. “Cocktails, beaches, hot boys..”
There was a tiny pang of jealousy when he heard Jayden say ‘hot boys’, but he made sure his facials betrayed whatever feelings he felt. “Well, that’s nice,” Levi replied. “I thought that by now, you’d be into men and not boys.”
“Le… Maybe I should have taken you with me..”
“Yeah, you should have,” he said, raising a brow. “Where’d you run off to anyway? Must’ve been a real good place to escape to if you didn’t need my company.”
“So I mean why do people say their favourite hobby is eating when it’s essential to human life, I don’t get that. And I also don’t get how everyone is like ‘I’m not my true self when I’m drunk’ like why? Are you just hiding your actual self to everyone and it only comes out when you’re drunk?”
He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, mumbling “Does it ever stop talking?”
“Miss me?” The brunette asked with a small smirk. Her vanishing act was silent and nobody knew where she had disappeared to. In fact, she had only gone home, but she had cut herself off from anybody. After news of a second shooter, her father had insisted she come home. So Riley up and left without a word to any of her classmates; only letting the school know. After endless convincing, she finally got her father to let her return; she didn’t know why she wanted to. Maybe deep down she just needed people around her, specific people mostly, people who we3re there that day. People who weren’t her grief stricken parents.
He frowned and tilted his head to the side. “Didn’t even realise you’d left.”
“I took a break in my education, blah, blah. So I’ll graduate a little later, it’s not a big deal. I just had to be somewhere really, really important.”
“I think you need to improve on your lies, Jayden. You’ve fooled everyone but me with that really really important place you had to be.”
“No, it’s just that I’ve totally learned this shit before.” She grumbled. “Make and exception for me?”
“I can help you with whatever,” Levi said with a grin. Apart from being an asshole, anything academic, he could do. And he loved it a lot. “I’ve finished everything that’s to be done this semester so I’m keen to get some more work to do. What do you need?”
…Okay, now I’m gonna say something, cause if I wait and say nothing and you spot me after you’ve gotten changed I think that’ll probably be worse…Hi there.
He narrowed his eyes, the voice very familiar. “Jayden... if you wanted to see my stuff, all you had to do was ask.”
