Hollyoaks detective Sonny Valentine will be left in a predicament after Ste Hay is arrested and charged with Fraser Black’s crimes. As revealed at the weekend, an upcoming storyline will see Ste (Kieron Richardson) stand accused of being the culprit who crashed into Sinead Roscoe and killed DS Sykes. While many of the villagers don’t believe that Ste was responsible, it’s Sonny (Aaron Fontaine) who is closest to the full story, as he is well aware of Fraser’s true colours. Sonny considers using Jim McGinn’s DVD confession about Fraser’s true identity to help Ste, but he knows that he runs the risk of losing Carmel (Gemma Merna) if he reveals the evidence after such a long delay. To make matters worse, Sonny’s dilemma comes as he is closer to Carmel than ever before. As they continue to bond, Carmel even treats Sonny to a pamper day at the McQueen house - with a face mask, dressing grown and pedicure all on offer. 

In the end, Sonny knows that he has to do the right thing by handing over the DVD to his colleague Sam Lomax (Lizzie Roper). Unfortunately, once he comes to this realisation, the DVD is nowhere to be seen as Nana McQueen has unknowingly handed it over to Dennis Savage among a box of junk for the Emporium. When Sonny begs Nana to tell him what she has done with the DVD, will he be forced to reveal why it’s so important?
