Feedback from a Hindi student

Andreas Nickl from Nürnberg, Germany shared his feedback about Hindi lessons. Recently, he was in Rishikesh, India and did a five days intensive Hindi course. This was his third Hindi course in Rishikesh. It was designed according to his needs. This time we were focused more on reading, writing and correct pronunciation of Hindi. " I know Kanchan Jii exactly for 4 years. Within this period I have been taking online classes via skype and I have been to Rishikesh 3 times. I just came back from Rishikesh last saturday, where I stayed for a week, doing daily classes with Kanchan Jii. Thank you very much for your patience. Use of Although – हालाँकि (haalaa(nki)

These sentences have two clauses, the first begin with हालाँकि (haalaa(nki) and the second starts with फिर भी/तो भी (phir bhii / to bhii). Although …….. even so…… हालाँकि …….. फिर भी / तो भी …….. haalaa(nki …….. phir bhii / to bhii ………

Examples:

1- Although he has some problems, he is happy. हालाँकि उसको कुछ परेशानियाँ है, फिर भी वह ख़ुश है। haalaa(nki usko kuchh pareshaaniyaa(n hai(n, phir bhii vah khush hai.

2- Although he has no money, he seems quite happy. हालाँकि उसके पास पैसे नहीं हैं, तो भी वह ख़ुश लगता है। haalaa(nki uske paas paise nahii(n hai(n, to bhii vah khush lagtaa hai.
