â I shouldâve have looked before getting up like that. Iâm very sorry. are you sure youâre okay ? I bumped you quite hard. â freddie bit their lower lip, eyebrows scrunched together in a concerned frown. after recovering from the mishap, he was able to recognise the girl from the last few days he had spent at the library. she had caught his attention due to her calm aura, but the man was certain her looks made many other people in the library interested in her too. he couldnât deny it; she was beautiful, but more than that, she seemed very kind. from up close, freddie recognised that she must have been much younger than them - possibly a university student. in fact, she reminded him of his younger sister.
freddieâs face lit up at her question. he looked back at his stack of books on the table, reaching over to grab the one he was currently reading. â oh, itâs a very interesting mixture of science and myth⌠â freddie held up the leather-bound book.â this one is about how space ties into chinese mythology. it is really interesting. â freddie then came to the realisation that the girl might have only asked to be nice. trying to direct the conversation to a less specific place, they motioned towards their sketchbook. â Iâm an artist, so all of this is very inspiring to me. â
She found their close consideration of her wellbeing to be entirely sweet and she realised there werenât enough genuine people around anymore. âHonestly, Iâm more than okay. Thank you though.â Lexi reassured, shifting the books in her arms as the weight of them began to leave a familiar ache. For years sheâd tried to convince herself that ebooks were a wiser choice but she just didnât find as much satisfaction in them as a physical book. It seemed they were the same as she took a step closer to consider their collection more closely.Â
âSpace ties into chinese mythology?â The blonde repeated with a tone of intrigue, studying the leather-bound cover. âYou really can consider any topic, thatâs what Iâve always loved about books. Potential.â With a low hum to emphasise her point she glanced up at them. âWow, an artist? What kind of stuff do you do? Are you a print kind of person or more of a sculpture kind of person.â After a breath she let out a laugh, wondering if she was using the right terminology. âSorry, I pretend I know what Iâm talking about but my own knowledge of art is rather limited. So please, tell me more.â
