ϟ ~ “We wouldn’t be trapped by this system, that’s where.” 

With that final comment, she turns her head away from the man and begins to walk away. She didn’t mean to spew out bitter drivel like that, but what’s done is done. 

[lexiustus]

　　Now that's interesting. Why would such a sweet-looking girl be so bitter about the system that's helping them all? Ah - but sarcasm isn't his forte.; he's better off leaving that to his loud-mouthed apprentice.

　　"There are ways of escaping the system, you know."

　　That's all he'll say. He's sure that's all he'll need to say.

[liightnings]

ϟ ~ That condescending smile— she’s familiar with such an expression and it brings about a strange sense of deja vu. She refuses to move, her eyes following the man as he steps aside.

"A gentleman, huh?" 

[lexiustus]

　　He can't say he's terribly surprised when she doesn't move.

　　"Just polite." He says simply. "Where would society be if we didn't have manners?"

ϟ ~ From the look on the stranger’s face, or, rather, a lack of a look, she can tell he is belittling her. She is use to this, of course, and for that reason, she does not move. 

"Are you planning on moving?"

[lexiustus]

　　Only then does he crack the slightest of smiles. "Of course," he says calmly. "You only needed to ask." It seems to be true, too, as he steps to the side almost immediately after saying it.

ϟ ~ The silence is tense, but she doesn’t feel it necessary to break it with unnecessary words. She continues to glare at the silent man without a word. 

All the stranger needs to do is move out of the way, and this situation would be resolved.

　　She's stubborn. The stubborn ones tend to be irritating as well, and vice versa. Kristoph has no plans to move out of her way because she is the one in his way.

　　He has the right to remain silent, so he does.

ϟ ~ Lightning doesn’t know who this person is, and she doesn’t particularly care. He’s not her unit. She’s not in his unit. However, the both of them are blocking the other’s path, but neither want to move as it seems.

She shoots the taller man a glare. 

[lexiustus]

　　The face before him is an unfamiliar one, meaning one thing and one thing only: she is not in his unit. Who can blame him for remaining silent when confronted by a stranger just as quietly?

　　Kristoph says nothing.

Wings

What's a fantasy or a wish of yours?

Wishes and fantasies are destined never to come true by their very definition. If one wants something, they must work to achieve it. Wasting your energy on juvenile ideas will get you nothing and nowhere.

(In my youth, I dreamt of power. I wanted little more than to be the one in control--and now I am. Magic and wishes had no hand in it; it is all a product of my own hard work.)

"You rigged it, didn't you?"

　　❝Nonsense.❞

　　A singular piece of evidence had been removed from the crime scene - the only thing which would prove the witness’s guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt. Its whereabouts were unknown  to everyone but the killer… and the accomplice.

　　It was the defendant herself who let slip its hiding place, proving her own involvement in the process. Some may have taken the chance to reveal the truth and her identity as an instrument to the murder… but Kristoph Gavin chose another path. When the fabled evidence did not turn up where it was said to be, he had the defendant describe it in full detail, with painful, meticulous attention to the most minute attributes. Through careful fabrication of evidence, he pinned the crime on another, relinquishing his client of all charges.

　　Does her knowledge of the item’s location not prove her guilt? he was asked. With a shake of the head, he disagreed. It was not where she claimed it would be, after all. Before the court, he invented a hypothesis which involved her panicking and lying about the decisive evidence she heard about the day before. It wasn’t unreasonable, he explained. She was on trial for murder, and the prosecution was using outrageous claims in an attempt to dismantle the truths she told. It was no wonder she would try something - anything - to clear her name… and it was that singular lie which sparked a new train of thought in the defense and led them (led him, he deserved the glory for unraveling this case) to the true location of the final, fatal piece of the puzzle.

　　On the way to the defendant’s lobby (number one, naturally), he’s stopped by someone who will appear familiar to him for only a little while longer. After the sentencing of the true criminal, he’ll forget all about her: the witness’s younger sister.

　　❝I’ve done nothing of the sort.❞
