At first, I didn’t know why this scene got to me so much. I mean, we’ve seen Marinette sad before. What’s different?

Then I got it.

With this, we are seeing the strongest character in the entire show break. We are seeing a 14-year-old cracking under the pressure of being responsible for everyone’s safety. We’re seeing her tearing herself down for putting Master Fu in danger and losing the Miracle Box. We’re seeing her break along with her heart as she has seen that Adrien has deep feelings for Kagami.

Those few frames as Marinette’s face switches from “happy facade” to “hopeless” were magnificent as they were shattering. Her confession that’s she’s so tired, which is a phrase often associated with depression for those who don’t know, and that she’s never herself is intense.

The heroine of Paris is too exhausted to deal with the pressures of being Ladybug anymore. A girl who is at the age where she should be figuring herself out refuses to ever let herself be her. A teen in love selflessly yielded in the fight for her crush’s affection in favor of his happiness over hers.

To break down in front of Luka, to drop her mask for even just a moment to let her anguish out, shows how much this has been building up in her.

Maybe using all of those miraculouses in “Kwamibuster” did have an effect on her psychie after all...

In Hero’s Day a fake Chat Noir cataclysm’d himself and he turned to ash, but in Miraculer Chat Noir cataclysm’d himself and he only got super sick and sore. This could be because the only way a sentimonster can die (from what we’ve seen) is from getting rid of the amok, which must not have been on him.

And maybe the reason Gabriel wants the miraculous’ isn’t so he can bring Emilie back, but instead make Adrien a real boy!

the last ones a huge stretch, but it would be a very cool concept! Hope I’m super wrong on all of this haha’,:(!!

Edit: to add onto this, we learned that a sentimonster can survive a long time without a peacock miraculous holder present to control it in feast... so when Emilie disappeared...
