Pop-Up Library Provides Access to Japanese Children's Books
Our friends at the Okanoue Library were featured on NBC 4Â last weekend!
A Glendale home turns into a Japanese language children’s library for the community twice a month. Jane Yamamoto reports for the NBC4 News at 11 on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

A whole new batch of books!
It's been a month or so since the last full turn over of books. Some have come and some have gone, but things were starting to feel a bit stale.
But, thanks to the help of several recent donors, we're happy to announce a major overhaul of the contents of the library! We've got over 50 different books in stock now for those looking for something different to read this Spring.
The books (and audio book) in the front section of the top shelf.

Remember, it's simple: Take a book; leave a book! No library required.

Okanoue Library is open on Saturday 2/4 from 10am-12pm
Looking for books in Japanese? It’s not quite a Little Free Library, but one of our Glendale neighbors opens up her personal library of over 700 books and DVDs, primarily in Japanese, once a month to share with the community. We’ve noted them on the blog here before.
This month’s date is on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 10am to 12pm at 1900 Sherer Lane, Glendale, CA.

Over 50 new books in stock!
Some of the books in our library have been there for well over a month and haven’t been moving. So to keep things new and fresh through the holiday season, we’ve replaced almost everything in the box with more than 50 new donations we’ve gotten in the last few weeks!
We’ve also recently added some interior lights in the top portion of the library so you can more easily browse when the sun has set earlier in the evening. The lights are usually on until about 11:30 PM or so for those late evening strolls.
So when the nights are cold and you need something to snuggle up with by the fireplace, feel free to stop by, leave a book, and take a book!
