Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) NY
27 years old
Initially made a name for himself by signing graffiti under the name "SAMO", to quickly rose to fame at just 20 years old. He is still considered a cult figure of socially engaged art and a pioneer in the mediation between graffiti and gallery art.
He fused abstraction and figuration, poetry and painting, with Greek, Roman and African art, French poetry, jazz rhythms and the work of contemporary artists influences. He was A LOT! The results were vivid, visceral mixes.
He had more of the rock-star persona than the art aesthete, a cool celebrity sparkle that didn’t always work in his favour.
He once slept in Washington Square Park for a week.
He didn’t explain his work: “If you can’t figure it out, it’s your problem,”
“He could make 20 paintings in three weeks,” When he had an exposition, he would never travel with his art, he would just create new. His art quickly rose to $20K a piece, imagine the dimension and the impact this fast & high production had on him, a man that had to steal bread previously to his notorious popularity growth.
During 1984 and 1985 he obtained a lot of attention, the bad critics, not taking him seriously, racism and his own hand got him in a dangerous spiral.
Most known romantic relationships linked to Basquiat are feminine, however, there are rumors and stories that relate him with other men. Seems like Basquiat was advocating this general free love era happening in the 80s; as one of his girlfriends said: "It was clear that his sexual interest was not monochromatic. It did not rely on visual stimulation, such as a pretty girl. It was a very rich multichromatic sexuality. He was attracted to people for all different reasons. They could be boys, girls, thin, fat, pretty, ugly. It was, I think, driven by intelligence. (...)He was very attracted to (...) people who were one of a kind, people who had a unique vision of things."

I Believe…
Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny. Mahatma Gandhi Beliefs are the foundations upon which we build our sense of self, and are pivotal to our well being and happiness. But our beliefs are also personal, insecure and subjective. That’s…

The general interest in medical developments like this was also reinforced by events such as the first (and at the time only) implantation of an artificial heart in April 1969, and an attempted human eye transplant in the same month, both in the US.

DTD: disociative trance disorder
Ok some I have been watching some stuff on “demonic possession” actually it is call disociative trance disorder, where some one believes that they are demonically possessed. This is simpilar to DID but there is a cultural difference to it. Where stereotypes are involved, amd tradition.
The main causes
1. Extreme stress
2. Child hood trauma
3. Personality disorders
4. Mental illness
And
5. Cultural stuff, like beliefs and tradit
It is kind of like DID, but there is the trance and deity or animal possession that is also involved. Was discovered in Asia. Than other parts of the world. If you want to learn more then look DTD on the internet if the human (brain) squirrel interests you in other words psychology or psychiatry interest you as well.
I like learning about the ways of the brain.
