During the run at the Park Theatre and their three week long tour in 2016 The Boys in the Band collected money for Stonewall UK.
For a very limited time, until the 18th February, the Boys are back, this time at the Vaudeville Theatre. And this time their charity of choice is the LGBT Switchboard + helpline
@antheas-blackberry and I went to see the play at the 11th and after waiting for (almost?) an hour in the cold and very light drizzle at the stagedoor Mark and Ian appeared.
We gave Mark an envelope which contained the information that his (amazing, fantastic, generous) fans are donating money to the very charity both he and Ian support. That Ian, as the play’s leading character, had asked at the end of the show for donations for the Switchboard was, of course, an unexpected bonus.
To keep you updated: as of now £679.24 have been donated and there’re still another two weeks to go.
We’re very certain that Mark is going to check out the page at one point but he will surely receive information from the Switchboard about the donations made in his honour. Plus there’s Ian who’s doing a great job checking out stuff his hubby doesn’t have time for and relaying the information.
So, please let’s keep it coming. You can donate here: JustGiving
Thank you all again for your generousity, likes and reblogs!!!
Those who aren’t so well off but still make a smaller donation: they’re truly appreciated (as much as the larger sums).
