Stormé DeLarverie
A gay civil rights icon. She lived with her partner Diana for roughly 25 years before Diana passed away. From 1955 to 1969 she toured the black theatre circuit as the only drag king and MC of the Jewel Box Revue, North America's first racially integrated drag revue.
Florence Converse
Born in 1871 in New Orleans, she was a lesbian writer who spanned many genres. She wrote historical novels, mysteries, plays, poetry, and she could also translate other works from French. She not only graduated Wellesley College in 1893 but then went on to complete a masters degree in 1903. She moved north where she met and had a Boston Marriage with Vida Dutton Scudder. They are buried side by side.
Sir Lady Java is a transgender rights activist, dancer, singer, comedian, and actress. When her performances were shut down by the LAPD in 1967 she organized picketing at clubs and fought in court with the support of @ACLU.

She was born in New Orleans in 1943. She transitioned at a young age with help from her mother and became a singer and dancer at local nightclubs. She was the first trans woman of color to perform in the L.A. nightclub scene. She was a fierce Igbtq+ rights activist while she was active.
