Hail Tumblrƿare! I ƿanted a stead ƿhere I could ƿrite in Anglish as oft as I ƿished, so I made þis blog.
Here’s a key to understanding my ƿriting:
I ƿrite ƿiþ þe elder bookstaffs Þorn (/θ/), Ƿynn (/w/), and Yoȝ (/x/ and 'gh'). I do not ƿrite ƿiþ Eð (/ð/) or þe Long ſ (/s/). Þe former þree make ƿriting English/Anglish eaþer, ƿhile þe latter two make it uneaþer (at least on a rimesare).
My spelling is in line ƿiþ þe English of today, aside from a scant feƿ ƿords here and þere.
I forgo all un-Deutschish ƿords, aside from the seld ƿord ƿhose meaning truly has no English likeƿord and ƿhich ƿas already borroƿed into Old English (byspel: “coser” for ‘emperor’. O.E. “casere”, from Leeden “Cæsar”)
I forgo not Deutschish ƿords þat came to English from þe Nordish or ƿest-Deutschish tungs.
Alþouȝ þe ettle of þis blog is Anglish, I ƿill be ƿielding it as a true smicker-blog. I'll be ƿriting my þouȝts, ƿhatever þey may be.
