This… wasn’t something quite expected. Is that the right word? It’s quite troubling, in fact.
One moment, he’s swimming about through the river leading out from Zora’s Domain. The next thing he knows, he’s now washed up on a warm sandy beach. The sea was pretty far from where the Zora Prince lived; perhaps he hit his head and was washed away?
His head aches, a hand coming to rub along his top dorsal fin. Ooo… there is a bump there. It’s going to swell later on. But the more puzzling question is at hand; where in Hylia’s name is he?
Sidon stands on his own two feet, promptly brushing sand off his chest and adjusting his armor and cravat accordingly. Even in a foreign domain, he must look suitable. Amber eyes turn up and take a short look around– a person! Wonderful!
“ Excuse me! Pardon me! My apologies, I just need a moment of your time! ”
Though he had, at first, tried to put up a caring persona for the mortals that inhabited the islands, he’d steadily started to drop it, allowing people to see and hear what he really felt about them. For most people, this meant an uncaring expression and an irritated tone of voice--for a few people, it was kinder.
Having noticed that more residents were washing up on the shores of Ohana island, he’d decided to sit around and observe them. The recent chaos that had taken place due to a certain mechanic had left him with a nasty taste in his mouth, and he figured that if he could observe the newer residents, he could try to see if any of them might cause any of the same issues. So far, no one had decided to bother him..or seemed like they might be a bother, at all. That was good--
He looks up...and..up...at the sound of a voice. Great, seems his luck had just run out. Sighing inwardly, he straightened himself up and gave the caller his full attention. At least this person seemed excitable, but..not necessarily a potential issue.
“I guess I can give you a moment. What is it?”
He could already guess the questions he was about to receive...
There are too many bats to hold off forever, and even though she’s doing her best trying to control how many get in range of her, one of the machines manages to swoop in - past the writhing vines surrounding her trying to take down enemies - and shoot a laser right into her back. She’s a high level, and it doesn’t do as much damage as it would have if her body was real, but it still hurts, and shaves down her health by about one tenth.
If she’s not careful, she doesn’t know if she’ll make it out alive.
Serara barely hears the voice, but she’s missed it for so long, she had wanted to hear it for so long that her ears immediately tune in to the shout, and she turns- she’s grateful that she didn’t put the shriekers down like she had planned, or she would never have even noticed him approaching.
Before she has time to think, she’s dashing away from her protective vines, trying to dodge incoming lasers as she races towards where she had heard her boyfriend’s voice.
“SAOL!”
He could see her. She was a mere two hundred feet away. She was alive. Joy and relief overflow in the pounding of his heart as he crushes one last mechanical eye-bat into the ground before he sprints towards her, a light stinging building in his eyes.. He’d never have imagined he’d be so happy to see her, again..
If he wasn’t mistaken, however, she was also heading for him..leaving behind the safety of her temporary wall--the vines that had likely protected her from any life-threatening shots..
“S-Serara..wait, Serara, stop!”
As if to confirm his fears, it seemed as though the abominations had been waiting for her to step out from behind the little wall of hers, and were taking aim... Unlike him, she wasn’t immortal..if those shots hit her, she’d surely. . .
He picks up his speed, sprinting as hard as physically possible to reach her, jumping and tackling his girlfriend to the ground, holding her close and turning to shield her from any damage of the fall. Falling just short of the wall, he rolls once more to put them behind it, his back covering over top to shield her in case any eyes had flown above to fire from higher up.. They couldn’t harm him--any damage they could do would heal over before the next shot was fired. In any case, he certainly wouldn’t feel it.
“Thank goat you’re alive..I was so worried, I.. I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner. Are you alright? Did they hurt you, anywhere? Let me heal you.”
His thumb strokes her cheek gently while he focuses his energy, healing any wounds--minor or major--and restoring her health. Once finished, he rests his forehead against hers, happy enough to nearly forget the world and its chaos around them...nearly.
“We need to get you somewhere safe. I think Mother is having the phoenix create a safe area on her island.. I can carry you there, if you need me to.”
It’s been at least two months since he started brooding in this overgrowth of life that he’d created. He’d inherited a dangerous rage from his mother, and like her, it often had side effects on the island. In his case, if he sat in one place for too long, life would build up, and everything around him would grow at a rapid pace. It had only taken half a day for him to be surrounded by a deep forest, trees and bushes stretching high above him.
It was, at least, a good way for him to calm down. He could have gone to Serara for happier times and cuddles, but with his anger turning his words poisonous, it probably wouldn’t have been a good idea. He didn’t want to say anything he might regret..
He probably could have left a month ago to see her, again. It had, originally, been his plan to do so--especially after he’d received a Valentine’s card from her.. He should have left that very day to spend time with her, but..instead he sat in his overgrowth, holding the card close and swooning from time to time.
Finally stepping outside, today, he was greeted with an upsetting sight. One of the residents had released swarms of mechanical creatures, who were firing explosive lasers at anything that fell in their sight. He feels his heart sink to his stomach, and he dashes off, swatting down and crushing any of the creatures that flew too low, to the best of his ability. She should still be on Haku, as long as nothing had happened to her, yet. He had to get to her, quickly.
Yeah no okay this is fine, this is fine, totally what he was expecting but still not what he was hoping for. He barely has enough time to block his kick, still making him writhe in place for a little bit. No time for pain however, this couldn’t possibly be enough for Saol, so unless he acts fast he is gonna get an ass beating. Eyes shine purple for a moment as he conjures a fog shield around him, pushing Saol away.
“…Sorry for borrowing your powers out of the blue like that Temp… I just needed some thinking space…”
With the ‘ himself out of this one’ option out of order due to excessive amount of salt, Ian needed a plan if he wanted to make it out of this with the least amount of broken bones as possible. He might even need to use that…
Somehow, it always fell under his duty to be the keeper of peace. Kano, whom hated the mortals the most seemed to always be the only one smart enough to hold a shred of mercy over them, knowing it was not his place to overreact and overpower their pathetic forms.
Kano was not oblivious to the flickering of his son’s soul. That same, fiery-spirit that Keahi used to spike when her anger ticked to explosive-mode. He had been counting the days, slowly but, surely he knew this would happen. A day where he would have to break his little ‘promise’ of letting Saol learn for himself, and instead put his parental status in place.
“Saol.” The water-goat’s tone remained as calm as the Ocean in the distance. …Calm, one may say it is but, oh beneath that tepid surface was a storm brewing – a storm that had the capability to engulf everyone and everything around it. He was their peace-keeper, the one sworn to keep to his rules set.
Rules, that he needed to teach to his tantrum-throwing child. With one hand extended, the opposite tugging the white glove to fixate it before he swiped the back of his hand flat across Saol’s face.
“I’ve given you enough time to learn, and explore before having to do this.” He stated, before another thwack of his hand whipped across Saol’s cheek again. “And now, you’ve gone and acted out against this pitiful mortal. We have rules in play, Saol. Rules that you need to learn to follow.”
Stepping ever closer now, Kano placed himself between Ian and Saol. The waves in the Ocean picking up speed, a reminder to those around that he was an all powerful being – that what he willed to happen, would happen.
“First. You will apologize to this mortal. On your knees, and beg for his goat-damn forgiveness that I do not strip you of your very powers, like I can do to him.”
Having finally decided on his next move, he was nothing short of infuriated when the hit failed to land, and he was instead pushed back by some borrowed demon’s ability. Rage steadily building, he’d moved to try again--but stops once he hears his father call out his name.
Ah. He was in for it, now. Having no time to process or prepare, he’s thoroughly startled when the back of his father’s hand hits his cheek, and he gives a sharp gasp before holding it and looking up in disbelief. Said disbelief is greeted with another slap--now both cheeks stung like fire..
At first, shock dominates all other emotion, and he listens in silence to what his father says. However, once he’s ordered to basically grovel in front of a mortal--one that has made himself the subject of his hatred, no less--the anger resurfaces, stronger to the point where it may erupt. Truly, he’d inherited his mother’s rage.
Still, as much as he wanted to instead push past his father and tear the mortal to pieces, the threat hanging over his head rang clearly through his rage. His father meant what he’d said, and Saol really didn’t want to be powerless.. Closing his mouth tightly before he could say anything he regretted, he took a moment to calm himself even slightly before hissing out a “Yes, Father.” and getting on his knees as he was told.
“I. Apologize. Harming you as I did was..cruel, and uncalled for.”
He’d murmur his own true thoughts about the situation quickly before returning to what he was supposed to say.
“I pray that you can find it in your heart to forgive me, mortal. May any interactions we have in the future be peaceful, so that we may both live good lives.”
Well, he should’ve seen this coming. Getting competitive with someone you’re still on thin ice with equals bad idea, getting competitive with someone who you’re pretty sure is bordering on yan and ready to kill you at the slightest opportunity, worse. As Ian hits the ground due to Saol’s punch a single thought crosses his mind.
“Probably not a good idea to play Mario Party with this guy”
Spots of blood on the ground and a lingering pain on the front of his face tell him of his now broken nose and how he should take Saol’s threats more seriously. Really hard for the guy who’s final words will most likely be a pun. Then again, there isn’t much Ian can do now that Saol is like this.
He captchas his broken glasses, gonna have to fix those later, and turns at Saol.
“…you know, any other time I’d gladly accept that beating, but it just so happens going back home with a black eye and a broken smile worries someone I care for. I’ll admit things got way out of hand and I take the blame, but as for right now you’ll have to find some other way to deal with your anger.”
“So please, the last thing the new Islands need is another fight”
“Please.. At least I’m not stabbing you, again. You’ll heal. You deserve this.”
Reasoning was just out of reach for him, while he was like this. Anger took precedence over logic--the thin ice they’d tread on together had cracked and broken, and he’d been plunged into the dark thoughts he now acted on. Tuning out Ian’s response towards the end, he moves forward, kicking sharply at his stomach. He intended to make Ian the outlet for his anger, unable to think of anywhere else he could direct it. Fists clenched tightly, he finds himself struggling with the decision of whether he should continue kicking, or climb on Ian to continue throwing punches..
He may have won the game in the end, and he certainly did kill Ian quite a few times during the game, but that’s not stopping him from rushing forward to throw a punch at him. He was on good terms, until Ian got a little too competitive, and killed/incapacitated him and Serara multiple times.
“You know, I actually didn’t mind that you had adopted Serara, for a while--I didn’t even mind that you’d hurt Auntie, anymore, and were still somehow together with her..but now?! I don’t care if it was a game, or if it’s because you happen to be a competitive player, you hurt Serara.”
“There’s no one around to protect you, right now. I’ve got a lot of anger and pain to send your way. Find a way to block your teeth if you don’t want to loose them, human.”
It takes all of five seconds for him to read the text, before jumping up from his own bed and quickly head to the beach house she’d been moved into. Kano would probably lose his mind over this, but just like Saol was giving Ian a chance, Kano was giving Serara a chance.. That’s all the fact he needs to let himself slide up to her window and knock on it lightly. There were others in the house, after all..better not be too loud..
How annoying. He helped to run parts of those simulations..he figured he’d play a flawless role when it became his turn to take lives, and yet..
It would have been risky to take out the person he’d wanted to, first.. It would have been obvious that he was the killer--no one else had any bad blood flowing for the psuedo-god. Taking out a target that anyone would go after should have been simple..and that person was also a quick thinker.. If he’d allowed him to live, Saol was certain he’d have been found out much faster than he was...
It had come down to a mistake in a claim. He’d claimed the role of the person interrogating him...
Grumbling and kicking at small rocks and other items as he walked and tried to calm himself down, he can’t help but end up cramming all of his anger and frustration towards the thought of a single person.
“...Your luck will run out one of these days. I will be there to see it through.”
At least there are some residents who are willing and ready to put everything on the line to save his unhatched sibling. He won’t forgive any of them if harm comes to the egg--
Did someone really just spike the egg like it was a volleyball?
What a surprise, it’s not a human.. What isn’t a surprise, however, is that the fallen angel has now been added straight to his shitlist.
