THE BEGINNING (of the middle (of the end))
PALLIES,
We’re coming out of retirement like Vinny Testaverde to throw a couple more INTs to our adoring fans. Tis our first show since 2016 and it’s at our favorite establishment in all of NYC (11th St. Bar).
2 sets, FREE SHOW. Come on out.
RSVP.

the end.
Swimmers,
Thanks to all ye merry gentlemen (and gentlewomen) who came out to the show last night, and also to all ye who have supported the team over the years, you have all been the banana in my musical hammock.
The decision to retire "The Nights" (as I like to think the hep cats refer to us on occasion) did not come easy. It would have been much easier to just keep going, playing the occasional gig here and there until we eventually faded into Bolivia (which is currently a lovely 64 degrees, which is why I want to fade into Bolivia immediately).
It is also frustrating knowing that some will see this as "giving up," or that we somehow failed in our mission, and that could not be further from the truth. While we were never asked to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show like we always aspired to, we accomplished the majority of what we set out to do, and that was simply to have fun with it. We had a lot of fun with it over the past ten years. We got to play music with our friends and for our friends and made plenty of friends along the way. That's the only reason to do this, in my opinion. So by that standard, I think we're walking away champions, and in much better physical shape than most NFL retirees. Eh, I could be wrong about that. Fewer concussions, maybe. Eh, not so sure about that either.
Anywakaflakaflame, to me, giving up would be continuing to do something my heart wasn't truly into anymore just for the sake of holding onto something just for the sake of holding onto something and so on like that forever to infinity. I have never wanted to refer to myself as an "artist" because to me an artist is a French guy with a pencil-thin mustache chain smoking while wearing a horizontally-striped black and white shirt and a beret and lazily masturbating onto a canvas on an easel in an abandoned warehouse, and that's not really my scene.
But as an artist, there's a ton of other stuff I have wanted to do creatively for a long time now which I think it is time for me to put my focus and energy towards. Some of that is musical, yes. I am always going to keep recording music. I just might not perform it any time soon or with any regularity. But I wanna make different kinds of music. And also films. Mostly films. And words. Videos. Jokes, and stuff. Things.
So, if anyone is still reading, congratulations, you can read and that makes you smarter than most people in this country, and babies. Stupid illiterate babies. What I meant to say was, this was never the end, it was always the beginning. The beginning of the end of the next thing. Which will also be the next beginning.
So yeah, thanks, and here's the last song from our last album "BUNZ GLAZIN" which you can download here or on iTunes or stream on Spotify or whatever.
Peace in the Northeast, O Captain Yer Captain Vincent Brue the first, not an esquire but I do enjoy a good argument.

PS --Â Sorry I meant to say a whole bunch more but I got scared that if I kept going Kanye was going to show up at my house to interrupt me. And then somebody did show up at my house to interrupt me, but it was some old lady who only spoke Portuguese, and asked me if I spoke Portuguese (at least I think she that's what she asked me, I don't know, I don't speak Portuguese (I wish I did, though, so I could move to Portugal and also so I could've understood this lady better)), and I told her I only spoke English but she kept speaking in Portuguese to me for a while and then it got weird and she walked away and I came back upstairs and totally lost my train of thought. ANYWHOOOOAREYOUDOOTDOOTDOOTDOOT, I also want to say a big THANK YOU with accompanying hugs and kisses and reacharounds (only for the guys, I'm no pervert) to all of my fellow 'Guards over the years. While I have been known to fib from time to time, I can honestly say that I am still shocked and awed and most importantly, profoundly honored that any talented musicians out there would be willing to play music with me, much less ones whose style and taste and abilities and brains I have personally admired. I have never had any idea what the hell I'm doing. What's wrong with you people? Are you crazy? You were all hopped up on the pot, weren't you? That explains it. Anyway, I'm sure we shall all rock again at some point down the road in one way or another. Maybe just out on a porch somewhere on the high plains in old wooden chairs, knitting sweaters for our grandchildren.
Our final album BUNZ GLAZIN' is out now (link in profile), it makes a great digital stocking stuffer for your pals who like rock. Also our final show is tonight so come. Thanks for supporting the team.

New Stuff/Things?
Pals,
Lifeguard Nights has a show two weeks from today, Friday, November 19th at the Chubby Pickle in Highlands. It is our last scheduled Lifeguard Nights performance in New Jersey. We will also be performing on December 15th at the Mercury Lounge as part of the 10th Annual Yule Dogs Christmas show, and that is our last scheduled performance in New York City. We’ll also releasing our long-awaited album, “Bunz Glazin’” around this time as well.
After that we’re gonna go on hiatus for a while. Maybe a couple months, maybe 10 years. I don’t know. I’ve got a bunch of chores to do around the house and I’m pretty bad at that kinda stuff so it might take a while. I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks for supporting the team all these years. Safe swimming.
